Looking for some help with some questions.

Our group is traveling to Disney in Feb. 2020 and are considering the middle dining plan with one quick service credit and 1 table service credit. I've never dealt with a dining plan and have gotten a little confused with a few things.

My first question is: Is there a place where I can find out how many credits each restaurant takes and whether it'd be a quick service or table service?

Second question: If there's no table listing what type of credits each restaurant takes can someone please check the following to make sure I understand?

Quick Service - I assume these would all take 1 credit per person
Roaring Fork
Geyser Point
Woody's Lunchbox
Satuli Canteen
Be Our Guest - breakfast and lunch

Table Service - 1 credit each per person
Whispering Canyon
Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic Dining package
Tusker House River of Lights package
Artist Point
Coral Reef

Table Servie - 2 Credits per person
Cinderella's Royal Table
Yachtsman Steakhouse

Third question: I've seen QS and CS used often. Can i assume these are the same thing?

I appreciate all input. I just wanted to make sure I was allocating credits correctly and I didn't end up with a surprise bill. I think my main confusion is whether Artist Point is 1 or 2 credits because I've seen it both ways. Also whether I could use the dining credits on packages.

If you google something like 2019 DDP PDF you can find good lists. I'm not sure what's allowable to link here or not.

According to the Disney website, Artist Point (Storybook Dining) is 1 credit on the 2019 and 2020 plans.

QS and CS are the same, Quick/Counter service. All QS are one credit per meal.

Just make sure you're counting by the number of NIGHTS you are staying when totaling how many credits you have to use.

Wow! This list will come in handy, thanks!

Yes! Thanks for clarifying. And I believe I read that we can use them starting the day of checkin until the night of checkout.

That is correct. You can use them for all of your DAYS there, but what you have to use is based on the NIGHTS.

When we were there 2 yrs ago we had the middle dining plan (1 quick service, 1 table service). It was 2 adults and 1 kid. We were told that instead of ordering kids meals at the quick service to order an adult meal for her because it's all the same when it comes to quick service. (For table service it had to be off the kids menu) this came in handy bc then she could share with her 2yr old brother. Is this still true for the 2020 dining plan?

Officially, the DDP brochure still says "kids must order off the kids menu, where available" for all plans and meal credits, but it said that when you were there 2 years ago too. At this time, the QS credits are not separated into adult and child, so you can still get an adult meal with a child's credit. They could decide to enforce the rule, but we've been saying that for MANY years now, so chances are they won't.

The Disney website also has a good summary of their various dining plans. A few of the very high end restaurants/shows are 2 credits for dinner, but mostly it is 1 credit. Here is the link for the Disney Dining plan.

LOTS of older threads debate the pros/cons of using the dining plan. It depends on how you like to eat and if you plan to do anything like character meals which are very pricey to purchase, but a good use of the dining plan. Alcoholic beverages are also included (for adults) with your dinners. We used the disney dining plan during our trip earlier this year and it turned out great.

Generally speaking, when you sit at a table and order from a menu is considered 'table service'. If you stand in a line and order/pickup the food yourself is 'counter service'. There are a few exceptions to that someone will most likely point out, but that is how it works at MOST locations. The Disney website also lists the menu for each restaurant and which dining plans can be used.

You server will also point out items not included, but most of the time anything on the menu is part of the plan.
