The Everything Pooh Sized Thread

I've definitely experienced this issue on some of the slow boat rides (Small World and Living with the Land in particular), but it hasn't stopped me from riding. Usually the loading CMs are good about distributing weight as they assign parties to rows, but one thing that can help is asking to be in the back row. This helps in a couple of ways. First, the backs of the boats on rides with longer boats (SM, Pirates, LWTL, etc.) are usually designed to handle more weight than the fronts. I've noticed the boats are more likely to dip/drag when I'm in the front versus when I'm in the back. Second, if you're in the back of the boat, no one else on your boat can see you. I know people will say things like "oh, don't pay any mind to people who are being mean/nasty", but I can say from first-hand experience that those kinds of comments hurt, and I try and find ways to avoid being in situations where I might draw unwanted attention.

These are both excellent pieces of advice, thank you!

Hi, I'm headed to both Universal and Disney in August. I am a WDW regular and fit on everything, FOP is not an issue. I'm 5'6", 260. Wear a 20-22 pant, 2x top.

What are the most restrictive rides at Universal? We are traveling with another family, and I am the only Pooh size member of the party. We have one day in Universal before we meet up with the other family and I want to try any rides that might be difficult. I can handle it if I can't fit, but I would prefer not to have this happen when we are with the other family.

Thank you.

Does anyone have any recommendations for fun shirts for Pooh sized girls? I love some of the cute custom stuff on etsy, but I love soft, fitted tees in plus size and not rough, thick unisex tshirts that most people offer. Most shops are not super helpful or do not offer comfortable tshirts in 2-3x sized in designs I want :(
I've been able to find some Disney related tops at Torrid, and Disney "inspired" skirts and dresses at Pinup Girls (Look for the Mary Blaire line). I've also had fun Disneybounding and putting together my own inspired outfits. Good lucj!

My DS(16) is 6'6" weighs 350 and wears a sz18 shoe. It's a problem, but mostly because of his height. Snow White mine train and SM are hard on him. Most of the boat rides are challenging too, he's just so long. We tried to ride FOP last summer, the restraints that go around his thighs wouldn't fit(did I mention he's huge). It's hard to be upset with Disney, these rides are made for a average sized person, but it's hard when you're not average sized.

I couldn't do mine train. I carry a ton of my ~350 in my thighs and butt, and it just wasn't happening. I don't think it helped that I went at the very end of the day when my legs were swoll. Next time I'll try at rope drop.

Hello lovelies! I myself (5'10 350) know about how great Disney is about pooh-sized accommodations. My boyfriend however is very weary about it. He is around 6'1 and ~450, anyone around this size or have friends/family around that size that can help me reassure him he is fine for the rides? In particular MK rides, but any comments regarding other parks are welcome too! We're both trying to lose weight, but I'm going through Disney withdraw.

I'm 5'10", and at my heaviest I was around the 440-450 range. I couldn't fit on FoP then, and didn't attempt 7DMT. Other rides that were difficult at that weight were Astro Orbiters and Space Mountain (both with more difficulty getting out of the ride than getting in), Test Track (tight squeeze) and Kali River Rapids (barely got the seatbelt on, and that was with using what's supposed to be a shared belt for just myself). Otherwise, everything else was pretty much good to go.

Hi there!

We're going to Disney in December and the only ride I'm worried about is 7DMT. I know it's a commonly asked question but was just wondering about my specific size. I'm heavy in the legs and thighs and am about 5'3 and 225 lbs. I'm a size 18/20 and my thighs measure over 18" across when sitting down. Anyone have experience riding with a similar shape? Trying to decide if it's worth even getting a FP or if I should save myself the embarrassment.

I'm similar to your measurements and have never had an issue. It's a tighter squeeze but nothing close to feeling like I won't fit. I'd for sure go for the Fastpass.

I've had ridden 7DMT several times, and I'm a bit larger than you. The last time it was super painful, but I think in my attempt to get the lap bar down I pulled it too far down, and it was squeezing me legs. I remember previous rides being uncomfortable but this one was painful. So just keep that in mind when you close the bar. It is a fun ride!

What great information guys! I'm going to follow this one. I've never had any issues riding things in WDW or universal. I'm 5'3" and was 220 last trip. I've lost some but I wanted info on the new rides. (if there are any issues).

FWIW here is my experience:

5’11”, roughly 350. Short legs, sturdy thighs, long torso.

7DMT: I did the Pammie Plus Parks move where your knee is less in and more under. The case member made me adjust several times until he was satisfied I was safe; it probably took me 5 tries each adjustment to get into a position that was between the bars. Ultimately I was balanced on one butt cheek. It was extremely uncomfortable, but the ride is short and I’m glad I did it.

FOP: This was a bear. The test seat went fine. I had to adjust myself several times until I was in a position where my calves fit right, but once I got it the woman out there told me “it’ll be no problem”.

Well.

Once in the ride, I realized there is no time to adjust, and EVERYTHING is sticky. My feet weren’t budging even though they had room to. My butt wasn’t budging even though it had room to. Thankfully on the latter I had known that would be the case from this thread and pushed myself very far forward before I plopped.

Ultimately, The ride operator had to play with the flaps behind my calves for about 1 full minute before he was satisfied. Then he pushed the back in as hard as he could - click! - and left.

Then he came back

He pushed again, like a linebacker - Click! - gasp - and left again.

Again, I was very uncomfortable.

I wasn’t sure whether that was good enough when all of the sudden the ride started. 👍

That CM is my favorite ever. I wish I’d gotten his name.

Everything else was fine.

SUGGESTIONS:

Once you get the test seat right on FOP, ask the CM to let you practice it a couple times. If you find yourself sliding your butt or feet, find another way to get in that position

For 7DMT, have the Pammie Plus Parks video freeze framed on your phone on where she shows her leg placement. Hold it in your hand as you get in and do exactly that. Then put your phone in the pouch and don’t forget it.
