Hello to my favorite corner of the internet! I've decided to give this whole PTR thing another go, since my first one last year worked out so well. Before I get too deep into what we have planned for 2020, allow me to introduce the cast of characters!

We are Jon & Ann, two Disney-loving fools from the Midwest who manage to spend the majority of our vacation time doing something Disney related.

Jon (on the left) is a super creative, mega musical, butt-busting manager who enjoys Disney and graciously agrees to let me to spend our money on Disney trips. Jon's dream Disney job would be something sound related, probably running sound for some of the big shows. I (Ann) am the Disney fanatic of the family. No matter what I'm doing I can pretty much guarantee that I would rather be curled up on my couch with my kitty, a cup of tea, and my current Disney spreadsheets open on my laptop (unless I'm actually at a Disney park, of course). My dream Disney job is a parade performer. It's the perfect opportunity to interact with guests and help them have a great time, all without needing to hug anyone (I don't like hugs)! Plus you get to dance around the whole time. It's perfect. They wouldn't even have to pay me (okay maybe a little).

Fun fact about me- the only thing that kept me going through engineering school was the promise of a job that would pay well enough to feed my Disney addiction. And it has. Oh it has. We visited WDW together for the first time the Christmas after I graduated and the obsession was born.

So what do we have coming up in 2020? Oh nothing really, just two WDW trips, 5 nights with DCL, and an ABD. So yeah NBD.

Let's start in chronological order, then! Coming up first is our 5 night cruise on the Disney Magic in February with stops at Grand Cayman & Castaway Cay. It's also a Marvel Day at Sea cruise and if you read my previous PTR then you know I'm already diligently planning our outfits.

Next we'll go for our annual DVC stay! We decided to go in May this year to take advantage of the nice warm weather and Flower & Garden festival. Right now we have 4 nights booked at our home resort, Copper Creek, and 4 nights at Boardwalk. We're hoping to get into Beach Club instead of BWV but more on that later.

As for our ABD, it's still up in the air about which one we are going to do. Originally we wanted to do China, since we would like to visit all of the international Disney parks over the next few years (I promise my Disneyland Paris TR will get started soon!). BUT another podcast we listen to has strongly hinted that they are taking a group on an Italy ABD next year. If that goes through and the dates work for us then we want to take advantage of it, since special groups like that tend to get to do special things on those trips. But, naturally, they are taking forever to announce anything and so we're kind of in limbo with what's going on there.

Finally, I'll be going down to celebrate my birthday over Halloween weekend. Last year I got to visit WDW on my birthday and have decided that every other year I'm going to go down for a birthday celebration because you can't beat a Disney birthday. You just can't. The fun thing is that Halloween is on a Saturday next year so if I do a long weekend I'll be able to hit up the Halloween MNSSHP and THEN hopefully see the beginnings of the Christmas decorations over the next couple of days!

So join me as we follow this yellow brick road of Disney magic through the year 2020!

I’m here! Looks like 2020 is turning out to be a great Disney year for you!!
Woohoo! Thanks for joining!

It's not that I hate hugs, it's just that they're overused in society. A hug must be earned, not just given out willy nilly.

I'm also not a fan of hugs, so it's not weird! We're also using our CC DVC points to stay at BWV in May next year, so I will congratulate you on your good taste! How exciting that you're planning on doing another ABD too - you have a great year planned.

We can form a no-hugs support group! High fives all round!

Yay for BWV, it will be our first stay! We want to be within walking distance of Epcot and DHS for a while.

Hopping over from your other report. I have gone in May the last two years and liked it . I think I may like flower and garden better than food and wine. Looking forward to reading more

I have the same feeling about F&G vs F&W! I went in late April/early May last year for a handful of days and I fell in love with that time of year. I can't wait to go back for a full trip!

LOL! I definitely need that 😂 my mom still likes to tell stories how I would just keep my arms by my side when I was little and peoplewould hug me. I always dreaded the goodbyes at family parties lol!

Haha! You will be happy to know that now it is not okay to force your kids to hug or be hugged. Dillon is a Hugger but she does says no thank you sometimes, oh the drama this causes with family members

Yo yo yo my friends!

First some updates for our May WDW trip on the resort booking process. When we picked our dates I went ahead and made a reservation for the full trip at our home resort, CCV, just so we would have something. The plan was to check at 7 months and try to switch to our first choice (Beach Club) or our second choice (Boardwalk). The thought was we would spend half the trip within walking distance to both Epcot and SWGE.

So leading up to our 7-month date availability was amazing, it looked great. Then on our actual date I went to book and there was absolutely nothing at Beach Club and only scattered dates at Boardwalk. So I went for the BWV reservation to at least get us in that area. I had to split it between two different room types but at least it's all in the same resort. I have two waitlists out, one to get BWV all in the same room type, and one for BCV. I'm really hoping BCV comes through because we really want to try the pool there and it just seems like a more relaxing vibe. But at least we are for sure booked and have somewhere to stay each night!

Since booking the resorts settled down, I've actually started putting some plans together and it's getting super exciting! In the last few days they announced two special events that are taking place during our stay and I really want to do both! One is a DVC Moonlight Magic event at Epcot on May 4 and the other is a villains DAH on May 8!

I already re-read @Newsies posts about the booking process for MM so I feel like I am well-prepared. Booking doesn't open until March so I'm going to sit on that one for a while until I can actually do something about it. But tickets for villains DAH are already out so I will probably go ahead and buy those soonish since I know we want to go (well, I want to go. Jon is still undecided...but I'm sure he'll come around). That means our trip will include TWO nights full of all you can eat ice cream novelties.

I really, really hope my Invasalign is done by then. It should be, but you never know.

We also booked our flights today since Southwest released their schedule through May. So now that I've got an idea of our arrival/departure times, special events, and priorities, I have a rough plan put together for the trip. Our ADR date is Sunday so I need to at least have an idea of what reservations to make. So here goes:

Friday 5/1: Arrive at MCO 11:25pm
Resort: stay at nearby hotel (not booked yet)
Dining: None, just sleep!

Saturday 5/2: Transfer from airport hotel to WL
Resort: CCV
Dining: Whispering Canyon Cafe lunch
Plans: After lunch, probably head to MK (I've learned that I like starting and ending trips at MK)

Sunday 5/3: DS, park time, Hoop de Doo
Resort: CCV
Dining: Homecomin' brunch, Hoop de Doo

Monday 5/4: May the 4th! DHS, resort time, Epcot MM
Resort: CCV
Dining: None, probably try out Geyser Point at WL

Tuesday 5/5: No plans at all yet
Resort: CCV
Dining: None

Wednesday 5/6: Rest day
Resort: Transfer to BWV (or hopefully BC if that comes through)
Dining: Yachtsman dinner

Thursday 5/7: Universal
Resort: BWV
Dining: None

Friday 5/8: Some resort time, probably Epcot festival time, DAH villains
Resort: BWV
Dining: Beaches & Cream lunch

Saturday 5/9: Last full day
Resort: BWV (right now we'll have to switch rooms unless my waitlist comes through)
Dining: Ohana (can't decide on what time yet)

Sunday 5/10: Departure day
Resort: Check out of BWV
Dining: Cape May Cafe character breakfast
Leave for the airport by 11am!

We are changing it up a little this trip by not spending a full last day. Flight options aren't amazing and the only nonstop flights are either at 1:30pm or 10:55pm. Previously we would have picked the 10:55pm to take advantage of another full day but we're both getting kind of tired of coming home exhausted, especially since we'll both have to work in the morning. Plus our trip is long enough that it's not like we have to squeeze every last second out. So our last day we'll have a nice big breakfast then head home and have plenty of time to unwind and get some sleep before rejoining the real world.

I'm just here for the sushi.

No sushi????

sheesh.

tbh, I rarely reply to PTRs. I'm swamped as it is. But I'll follow along, waiting for the (I hope) link to the TR when it comes. :)
