So Dh was convinced we didn’t need travel insurance and now I’m last minute wondering if that was a horrible idea.

You should have it. Medical evacuation is incredibly expensive. Did you put any of the cruise on CSR?

ETA: Looks like you needed to add it yesterday so there's probably nothing you can do. Enjoy your trip. I didn't have it (or passports) for my first cruise.

Excellent news friends! My sister has just successfully picked up our Universal tickets from the lobby of Cabana Bay at midnight this evening!!

She used the Chase UR confirmation and I gave her one of my sock drawered Chase cards to take with her and she inserted that. Never had to talk to a human and now no more stress over Uni tickets!!! 😁

EDIT: and yes I did search to quote my post on this issue from 3 Months ago because it seemed thorough and the right thing to do!! 🤣

glad it worked smoothly for her...have an amazing trip in the rock star room

we are off to Savannah and Hilton Head with friends until Tuesday...staying in a Marriott 2br in HH and going to some car show there Sunday

We gift Harry & David every year. Our families love the pears too, and moose munch. Yum! I was half expecting Harry & David Amex Offers to drop before Black Friday. These are better than the 5% back on Chase Offers. Don’t forget, Shoprunner comes with (most/all?) Amex cards, and that’s free 2-day shipping, although Shoprunner negates any promo codes.
I completely forgot about Shoprunner because pretty much everything I buy online has free shipping. I just had to pay my contractor to run to the Lowes to pick up the upgrades for the bathrooms I bought because they were going to charge $80 to have them delivered to the house. Plus there have been times when what I wanted from Disney.com didn't meet the minimum so I have just over-shopped to get the free shipping. Off to check out the specifications. Thanks

Since I know you lived in this area, I will say that yesterday they were on top of all of it in Waldorf. I got there at 8:30am since it was end of the month and I was expecting a long wait. In 5 minutes I was in front of a clerk who gave me the forms, explained it in detail, suggested and advised me that NFCU is very good at doing this stuff fast. I then had to return later on once I hooked up with DD to sign the POA which did not require notary. Again, through the now much longer line quickly, and the next clerk chatted pleasantly while she processed my paperwork. I honestly couldn't believe it, as I've sat in there up to 3 hours in the past, and within the last year. All 24 windows were staffed along with the 2 service desks and now they have the license and title kiosks as well as GE, TSA, and the new license being issued. On my 2 visits, total time for both visits was about a half hour including the lines. Crazy good.
The POA not requiring notary is shocking.

Waking up early is ok when it's for a trip! :D Haven't really been up before 8am in months, lol!! Truthfully I sleep until 9am most days...I'll get up earlier for (a) vacations, (b) golf, and (c) kids activities on the weekend. Yeah, I'm strange...I sleep in on work days and get up early on vacations and weekends!!

At any rate, budgeted enough time this morning to put a quick Chase application in. Sitting at 2 weeks (yeah I call within seconds after receiving the "pending" screen). Hopefully that'll convert to approved Sunday night and I'll hold a new card within a week and a half or so!

Have a great weekend everybody!

My knee is like that too. Standing or sitting too long is bad. When I first start walking after sitting or standing too long, I limp. Moving is ok.

I am the same. I do between 20-30K steps most days and am fine but make me stand still for 10 minutes and I feel like I am going to die. I also look like Bambi taking her first steps if I sit too long. Do stairs bother you as well? I can do them without too much pain but I feel like my knees are going to buckle so I need a rail.

DP - I received an airfare statement credit of 80.01 for a Delta purchase in the amount of 109.00 (airfare was 259.00 paid part gc part amex plat charge). That covered the remaining air credit balance I had. Also received statement credit of $25 for Sam's Club membership.

:tinker: For a quick approval

Anybody have luck with tweeting WDW? I called MS at 9:00 and got the message 8 minute wait, waited 12 and they disconnected me when picking up the call :(. Called back right away and now it's 30 minutes.

Anyone else running Wine and Dine this weekend? It's been a beautiful weekend for the last two races, hopefully we can get one more nice morning for the half tomorrow.

Yep, I made it through the 10k this morning! My feet aren’t happy with me but I’m glad I did it. And you’re right, it was a perfect morning for a run. Good luck tomorrow for the half!

We don’t have the CSR anymore. I guess we’ll just hope nothing happens and have a good time

Yesterday was a pretty busy churning day for me.

I set up Charles Schwab brokerage accounts for my wife and I, in anticipation of me applying for the CS Plat later this month and for my wife eventually.

I got DW started on earning her own MRs by applying and getting approved for the new Amex Green with the 45k MR incognito offer. No pop up! I've shared my thoughts about the Green. It's not for everybody and isn't necessarily the best use of a 5/24 slot. My wife was only 1/24 and a slow churner, so I'm not too worried about wasting a slot. We have an Away luggage purchase planned, so that $100 credit will definitely get used and help offset the $150 AF. I suppose I'll sign DW up for CLEAR, since she's a United MileagePlus member so it's $119 and the $100 credit will bring the effective cost to just $19.

The 45k MR incognito offer gives DW a nice start in earning MRs and a relatively low MSR of only $2k. (By comparison, the Gold's best SUB is only 5k more, at 50k MR with a $1k or $2k MSR.) She hasn't been targeted for the Platicorn since I hesitated on a Cardmatch offer more than a year ago. I highly doubt we'll see that again unless we move. I personally think the Gold > Green. But with the two cards overlapping so closely on restaurants (4x vs. 3x), it really came down to whether DW also spends more on groceries (4x) or travel (3x). She does do a fair bit of traveling, and I'll add the Green card to her Uber account to use when she's out of Uber credit. (Some of that will probably come at the expense of spend on the CSR.) I do almost all of our grocery shopping and I buy VGC/MCGC to take advantage of supermarket deals and the bonus earn to shift spend. Since I don’t have an easy way to MS, I think I’ll come close to but not max the Gold’s $25k supermarkets category cap this year. Getting another Gold for someone who doesn't really shop at grocery stores, and when I'm not maxing out my supermarket bonus category, didn't make sense. Getting a card with bonus categories for things she actually spends on was important if we want to keep her spending on the Green to avoid future pop ups. And I think the 3x MR that DW will earn on travel will more than offset the 1x fewer MR that she'll be earning at restaurants on the Green vs. Gold.

And the Gold would've come with a $250 AF vs. the Green's $150 AF. Like I noted, we'll be purchasing an Away carry-on before our holiday travels anyway, which offsets most of the Green's AF. However, the Gold's AF is offset in large part by a $100 airline fee credit. Since Amex has made it harder to use up the airline credits, we may have more airline credits across our premium cards than I know what to do with.

Oh, and I see from my DW's CIP bonus tracker that we've hit the MSR and 80k URs will be posting with the close of statement in a few days. Got our last spend in just in the nick of time!
