So we have a BOG dinner reservation at 4:15 on Dec 22. We will be attending the party. We have been to BOG multiple times before but last trip I was disappointed at BOG for lunch. We have not been to dinner since it changed to a set price. Was wondering if anyone can give me reviews on what they thought. I know it’s pricey but since it’s Christmas, I don’t really mind paying. Atmosphere during Christmas seems nice too.

We just did it in Oct the night we did MNSSHP and we had a 4:45 ADR. Here is my review:

We were dining with BIL and SIL, table for 4. DH and I arrived at 4:30ish. There was no check in at the little booth but, instead, they had 2 ladies with tablet things across the bridge. It was like 98 degrees out and they had a shade umbrella. There was a small line but it was growing so I got in while waiting for SIL and BIL, allowing folks to keep going ahead of me while waiting for in laws. They came up at like 4:50ish so I checked us in. We were told to wait for our name to be called. They called us and ushered us inside and to the side wing (where the CS ordering kiosks are I think) but they were ushering other directly to the front entrance of the dining room. So I asked why we were going off to the side (I have only been for dinner one other time and that time we were also ushered to the side and ended up waiting 25 minutes over there. They told us that was where folks could see Beast BEFORE dinner and those going right in weren't able to visit Beast until after dinner. Odd, because last time we did not get to see Beast before dinner that I recall. So I said we are 4 adults and not interested in seeing the Beast so they changed us to the other group at entrance to the dining room.

They called us in soon after. And were leading us back to the bright music box room. I asked if that was where we were being seated and she said yes. So I asked if we could be switched since I have eaten in there before. She went off to see and came back to seat us at the very first table as you enter the main dinning room. Where all the waiting folks are right there and the open doors with light and noise pouring in. So I should have stuck with the original music box room. It would have been more quiet. But I knew this was our last visit so I wanted to experience a different area.

Our server was excellent. Prompt and attentive. We ordered and the apps were meh but the entrees were delish as were the desserts. It was, overall, a good meal. BUT the cost is high for us as we aren't into the character aspect. And it's a fixed menu so there is no just ordering apps and wine to share like we do sometimes. Also do NOT like the chaos of the place. It makes me all anxious. My MIL loved it the one time she went, pre-fixed menu and she was supposed to be on our trip. In hind sight I should have cancelled when MIL missed the trip. It was, though, DH's only visit so we now can cross it off the list.

I ordered lobster bisque and it was cold, bland and only had one little chunk of lobster. SIL and DH got salads that they said were meh too. Forget what BIL got.
Entrees all were very good and we each ordered different things: filet, scallops, chicken and lamb chops.

Edit to add: never were we told we could go visit the Beast. Not sure if the server was informed of what I said when our name was called (that we weren't interested) or if they just didn't bother to tell us.

Thanks so much for the review! When we ate there for lunch, it was the chaos and how dirty the place was that got to us. My 5 year old did not want to sit in his chair cos it had food on it, lol! Food was also meh... I guess dinner isn’t much better.

Not, IMO, worth that $63 per adult. Is it 2 TS credits on DP....also not worth that. Rather go to Tiffins or Cali Grill. For that fee. If it were just 1 TS credit then I'd say do it.

My adult DS (33) and I had a 4:45 p.m. reservation on Tuesday (11/22) at BOG before the Christmas Party. We were called after about a five minute wait and were seated against the back wall of the Main Dining Room. I didn’t love this table because I didn’t feel like I was in the room. But, I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to embarrass my son. :p

Our dinners were fine. He had the French Onion Soup and Filet and I had Lobster Bisque and Scallops. The desserts were tasty. Honestly, we didn’t think our dinners were worth the money. We had dinner last night at Les Chefs des France and enjoyed it more.

I don’t think we will be doing dinner at BOG again any time soon.

Lol! I’m lucky my son is still 5 and is usually the one who embarrasses me! I’m thinking LLT might be a better option for us at this point.

Honestly, last year's Be Our Guest dinner during the XMAS Party was one of the best I have ever had in Disney and definitely WAY, WAY better than the dinner I had there before the price/menu change and they were 1 credit on the dining plan. That may be a minority opinion as I know so many here were up in arms the minute it went to 2 credits and saw a menu they felt was too, I don't know...er, 'gourmet' or whatever, for them, I don't know? Some people had definitely made up their minds here the minute they saw stuff like escargot on the menu that this place was not for them.

I mean, maybe some restaurants that went from 1 to 2 credits aren't worth it and genuinely did do it for a price grab (Le Cellier is the perfect example) but Be Our Guest didn't just make a cosmetic change to their menu, in my opinion, they completely upgraded the experience in every way possible to make it a true signature experience from the quality of the food to the impeccable service.

What time did you finish eating, do you recall?

From My Dining Report...

Friday the 25th was our MNSSHP night. We had an ADR at Be Our Guest prior to the party at 4:20PM. We dodged rain showers and made it to the restauraunt right on time. We were seated at a tiny two top in the Ballroom but it wasn't bad as it was against a wall and we had only one table near us to contend with.

We started with wine (of course). It was the same Rose' we had ordered 5 years prior. We remembered we liked it. For our Prix Fixe menu, DH ordered: Lobster Bisque with Lamb Chops and I ordered French Onion Soup and the Filet. We both got the Dessert Trio of course.

DH's Lobster Bisque looked like it had been sitting awhile and upon tasting it, he noted it had cooled and had a film on top. You can see it around the edges of the bowl.

My French Onion Soup was very good and tasted better than prior years. The Manager (who came by later) told us they are using veal stock now instead of the vegetable stock they used to use.

DH really enjoyed the lamb.

I found the filiet to be flavorful and perfectly cooked. The potatoes, however tasted undercooked.

The Dessert Trio was cute but soooo.... sweet. The raspberry macaron was so tempting with the fresh raspberries I couldn't resist.

We were visited while we ate dessert by both the Maitre'D and Manager. We commented on the good and bad of our meal. To show appreciation for our candid commentary, the manager approved a 20% discount for our entire meal.

We had a VERY good experience this past August before the MNSSHP, it was to our surprise as with all the complaints here we BOTH found the food to be very good, hot, fresh! I had the scallops and my wife had the lamb chops and both were very good, one of the best meals of our trip, desert was cute the 3 mini's and they were good not great but the main course was worth the trip, we had a 5PM ADR and were out the door around 6:30. We got to meet Beast BEFORE the meal and then we were seated for dinner, great meal and was fun, good luck!

Surprised at the super casual plates - I know, I'm nit picking, but seems like our first trips here, the serveware seemed more upscale? It may not have been china, but sure seemed "fancier" then this...this looks like Skipper Canteen or maybe one of the AK areas... Just me?

I noticed that too. They looked like plates from AK restaurants. In 2014, they used the white, square type plates with round bowls, sauce containers and tureens. It did seem more elegant.
