Apparently I forgot to add that raisins are NOT an option!

Do you mean to tell me, @Artygal90 , that it's not health food merely because it has oatmeal in it????
WHAT? WHAT?... Well I fail

*hangs head in DIS shame*

When you don’t have the patience to read through everything prior to posting awkward moments like this happen. True opinions show. I hope we can still be friends @ten6mom ...when I eventually forgive your harsh anti Raisin stance. I’ll work on it. Check back in with me next Spring.

I just want to say that I am utterly shocked they are continuing to shut people down this week... and cancelling flights set to occur just days from now around Christmas no less. Who is even working in this department...seriously!! Take the week off and deal with this next week. This is like the real life Christmas Carol combined with the Grinch. I just picture Scrooge and Grinch in this office cackling about how they just wrecked somebody’s chance to see their family for Christmas...

To be clear...I have no issue with them taking action. They certainly aren’t in the wrong to do...however, the manner in which they’ve chosen to go about this screams of “petty ex lover” - not what I’d expect from one of the nations largest airlines.

We’re watching Togo on disney+ with my parents right now. It’s pretty darn good. I didn’t realize Togo did all the work but the movie about Balto is more popular

Watched Togo with the kids tonight. It was good! Thanks for mentioning it. All I knew going in was that it's about a dog. Turns out it's a great film to watch in anticipation of our Alaska cruise this summer. DD was upset that Balto got all the credit. I was like I don't think Togo cares, lol.

Got all the presents wrapped. DD mentioned before that Santa's handwriting looks like mine, so had DH do it this time. He did it in cursive. I've never seen his cursive, much less the kids, so should pass muster. 😆

In churning news, Delta Gold Biz SUB posted. Whew. Always a relief with Amex. Oh, and a DP about Best Buy with RMN. Bought Disney GC (shipped with fillers) back when cashback was 10%, then 15% on "Top Deal Products". Went pending, they've been paying out these past few days. Only 1 left now which will hopefully pay out later today.

Christmas baking is done! DS made “Disney Caramel Apple Pie” and niece made a Triple Cherry pie.
Working tomorrow then coming home to finish assembling Buche de Noel, then to my sister’s for Christmas Eve fun. May not have time to check in here for a few days, so Merry Christmas to everyone on the best thread on Dis with the best bunch of people!

Wow, DS and your niece did a great job! They look yummy!

Cookie talk-
Made oreo peppermint, gingerbread, andes mint, eggnog, and smores cookies. Gave 2 of our neighbors big trays with ~30 cookies and still have like 30 left. Always give cookies to people who will come cut the head off of the copperheads in your yard, thats my life motto.

Disney-
Was going to budget most of our non-point $$ on character meals but ny husband was nervous we didn’t have enough MK time so now we are doing less meals (still some, just less) and changed our tickets to park hoppers. Fastpass day next week eep!

Churning/Travel-
Getting ready to book our Dec 2020 flights soonish (as soon as they open in Jan anyway). I think my options are Delta by way of MR or AA by way of BA by way of MR. Our local airport has a direct flight, but I’m not paying United 25k points per person when Delta has flights for 10k per person if we just drive to the big city airport. I feel like my MR go so quickly haha

Nice! Where are you off to in Dec?

Gotta ask where you live that copperheads in your yard are a regular occurrence...

I have a neighbor who makes a point of 'rehoming' the rattlesnakes that are regularly found in our neighborhood (sometimes on people's porches). She gives her phone number out on our neighborhood FB group for anyone to call her any time. She and her husband go out with a snare and a big plastic storage bin and grab them and then drive them out to the desert somewhere and drop them off. I like snakes as a rule but not the kind that are exceedingly venomous! No thank you!

Anyone having trouble getting logged onto the Citi website? It's been saying "please try back in 10-15 minutes" all night. I just want to make the payment on my "test" $10 Starbucks GC purchase I made last week...

@ten6mom the southeast! Between us and our direct neighbors we had 5 this spring! I almost stepped on one but my dog alerted me and saved me (thankfully since I was pregnant- would have been extra horrible). We’ve lived in this city for years withoit any but this was our first spring in our new house- apparently moving one mile can really up your snake count haha

Eek. I've lived in the Phoenix area almost all my life. The current house is about 4 miles down the road from the last house., and this is the only neighborhood I'm aware of ever having had rattlesnakes about. Of course this is also the first neighborhood I've been in that has a FB group (that I know of) so that could be a big part of it too.

Stay vigilant!

I always give a lot cookies away too. It’s a nice thing to do!
That’s great that you can get delta for 10K. Our best airline price wise is SW. delta and united do not have direct flights from our airport so I don’t even look at them. The only other two that have direct are allegiant ( don’t want to go to Sanford) and JetBlue which is usually more expensive than SW. I will be waiting awhile to book our November 2020 flights because SW probably won’t open the booking window for them until June.

Those look delicious! The only pies I bake are apple and I made so many for thanksgiving I don’t want to make another for awhile.
I helped my daughters make buckeye balls, sugar, peanut butter and molasses cookies though. And today we are making chocolate crinkle cookies and macaroons.

Merry Christmas Eve! Adios Esmeralda! We’ll be back! Now on to part 2 of vacay in Orlando!

Sad to see that no new award flights (for the third week in November) are showing on United's site yet. I was hoping they'd show up today since it's Monday but I wonder if they're taking a whole week off of posting new ones because of Christmas. Just waiting... waiting...

Finally talked (guilted?) my husband into trying Disney+ for me for Christmas, so we watched 4 episodes of The Mandalorian last night. Interesting so far!

We also watched Logan and Deadpool (back to back) the night before last and all I can say is good grief, I've never seen so much gratuitous violence! Don't need to watch those again.

I made about 13 dozen cookies over my weekend so I brought most of them to work so we wouldn't eat them at home.. but guess what. I'm at work with them so that was not the smartest thing I've done recently...

Here is an informal poll I put on my FB page:

When eating oatmeal cookies, do you prefer them:

1- plain
2- with chocolate chips
3- with chocolate chips and nuts
4- some other combination or addition?
My favorite are with pecans, raisins, and craisons. It’s a recipe I got from the Barefoot Contessa.

Offer for Kroger on my CSP today. 5% back, $3 max (lol). I'll still take it.

My fancy and expensive elliptical was delivered yesterday. I went to get on it last night... only to see it wasn't configured right and the control board isn't working properly. So now a tech has to come back on Thursday or Friday. At least DH will be home because he's off. It annoys me tho. :rolleyes2

Going to hometown for Christmas later today and staying the night. I'll probably be on here again later. I get bored.

Who were the University of Michigan folks here? @LilSweetPeaPhoto and I can’t remember who else, but I know there were several. Is the Hyatt a good location to campus? Thinking that is where we will use our free night cert to do DSs visit sometime soon. Told him I would take him in the bitter cold so he would hate it. Haha.
The Hyatt Place is a couple of miles south of campus. Not walkable but a very easy drive up State St. That has become our favorite Ann Arbor hotel.
No way he'll hate it! My DD loves it!
