9 Amex accounts between dh & I. The Sam's offer is not on any of our cards. I checked on the app and desktop site. Some of the cards aren't even showing 100 offers on desktop but between 65-70 only.
We didn’t have it on any of ours either

All caught up again - another great day of Christmas break!

I come bearing sad news today though. I have a legit DP from a redditor of a "shutdown" with a Disney resort reservation in play. It was cancelled - upcoming stay, less than 60 days away but more than 30 days away. This individual unfortunately also lost their FPs since they had no "on-site" stay and were >30 days out. If you have "played games" with these miles and have ANY pending hotel reservations my advice is to make a refundable backup in cash NOW. Room-Only Disney reservations can be cancelled ~6 days out and you get your deposit refunded so there is no risk to having a backup now while this situation plays out.

The view from here is pretty nice!

Thank you for mentioning this card - I have a pre-churning one that I recently dragged out and found my husband has $450 in rewards and I have $350. Im thinking of using them for our Fort Wilderness trip. Is this how they would work: Charge to the room, pay with the card, erase the charge? Is it that easy? It would be great to pay most of the trip with these (yeah, Disney camping is the most expensive camping). Also, since I got it so long ago GE wasn’t even on my radar so also thanks for mentioning. I’m going to get for my parents.

So I don’t think Disney codes as travel with CO based on my brief google search just now. The articles I found seem to indicate that you should go through hotels dot com to book if you want to use their points. What you could do (if you don’t have APs) is buy tix through UT and use the eraser for that though. Websites indicate that works for the travel eraser and I’m planning to buy my USO tickets that way.

They were pretty funny. But I wanted to punch them through my iPad a couple of times. I love Baby Yoda!

I literally yelled!!! Also, one of my friends told me one of the storm troopers is Jason Sudeikis!

I really liked that show. I thought it was super well done and a great season finale.

And now I need the Baby Yoda spirit jersey and Pop immediately!

Going to Disneyland for 4 nights, 3 days in May after Vegas for a few days for DS 21st. He will be meeting his girlfriend and Dad in California so it will just be Dd18 and me. Rest of the Vegas clan going home

Trying to research hotels. I know nothing about anything there. I know the Disney hotels are way too spendy. Seems the closest is Best Western Plus but as I am becoming a hotel snob. (It is a motel). Anyone stay here? Any other recommendations? I have Marriott points and UR’s. Want in walking distance but nice. Thanks!!
We are going to Disneyland in June. We are staying at the Hyatt House which is a 15 minute walk from the entrance of the parks. You can transfer UR to Hyatt. Used to be 12k points, now it’s 15. The Hyatt Place also gets good reviews but it’s a bit further out.
If you have Marriott points, the Courtyard Theme Park Entrance gets excellent reviews.

Here's the excitement from my house: I left work at 3 p.m. yesterday. Came home to find DH on the couch, moaning. He has stomach bug.

I spent the night trying to disinfect the house (and him!) and staying AWAY from him. Of course he insisted on laying on the couch so now I have to burn that. We have four bedrooms, so there was plenty of options for him to rest. Instead of washing sheets I guess I'll just Lysol the heck out of the couch. :crazy2:

My ear issue from earlier in the week came back with a vengeance - and resulted in 10 second ice pick headaches over and over. Throbbing starts in the right ear, then right on top of my head, over and over, all night. So I'm off to CVS minute clinic again later.

I am going to switch over my many streaming, internet and phone bills to Chase Freedom later. I also plan on taking down the Christmas tree and other inside decor. Well, that's the plan anyway. Good grief! :rolleyes2

Quick question... I have the Amex BGE, with a few thousand MR sitting there,I'd like to PC to something with no AF....what's the suggestion for this? And if I do PC,will the MR transfer over to the PC'd card automatically? ETA- can someone please remind me the rules for cnacling amex vs PC? As far as the AF goes....I haven't yet paid it, but I need to soon.
Ok sorry I'm replying to myself here.... I didn't 'qualify' for the Biz blue...(got the popup, not surprised) so I just got the Blue basic.... any Amex experts out there, can you confirm that my MR will be 'saved' automatically now if I close the other biz green card? or do I need to do something?

Booked the HoJo using UR's and loved it! Walk is a little far after being in the parks from open to close but it's barely past the Courtyard Marriott with the waterpark. I'd totally stay there again!
I have heard good things about that too. Will look into that too. Read it was more for younger kids though. Did you think that?

I was looking at Courtyard Theme Park. It looks nice but a lot more points. Decisions Decisions
We stayed there for 6 nights in November. I booked 5 nights using URs about a year out (as soon as booking for the hotel was open) and it was way cheaper than using Marriott points. When we booked our flights we realized we needed one more night, which we used Marriott points for. We really liked it there and would recommend it!

I am leaving in one week on our trip to Aruba. Airfare all on AA reward points for our family and brothers. I think I have a pretty low risk of being locked or shutdown but it is still nerve wracking. I check my account every day and do the receipt trick too. So far everything is fine. Crossing fingers it stays that way.

Yeah. Marriott points is 50,000 a night. With URs on my CSR it is about 20,000 a night. Not sure I want to use that many points for this. I like to save them for cruises. Arghh. I hate so many choices especially when I am unfamiliar with the location.

Oof, I just realized our February trip to Orlando falls over Disney half marathon weekend. Is there a noticeable uptick in crowds for that? We were planning on doing HS on either that Thursday or Friday, the 20-21. Half marathon starts the 20th.

So, just curious, what card does everyone keep on file for their Disney vacation? We still have a Disney Visa, but I’m thinking of paying off our trip with our Chase Ink Preferred, since it will yield more rewards and we are trying to meet our MSR on it. Just didn’t know if there was any reasons I am not thinking of that warrant leaving the Disney Visa on file versus a Chase Reserve or CIP?

I keep our CSR on file, but pay off our charges nightly with Disney gift cards

So here is my first goal. We are planning a trip for next fall to Lancaster/DC for 2 weeks. My 1st goal is to start the process to earn points or cash for airfair for the 6 of us, then for 3 or 4 night to stay in DC. We are staying with family and friends in Lancaster and York for most of the time and are working on borrowing a friends minivan but have not ruled out that a rental might be part of the trip as well as some train/public transportation. I am looking at these two cards, the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card and the Capital One Venture Rewards Card. As we are just getting started, I know how we join is just as important as which ones. So can anyone walk me through which is a better jumping off point, Chase or Capital One? I will just be putting our normal spend on the card of gas and groceries but have to tackle the living international part of the equation that is a bit more sketching at this point for me. I will be paying the card off each month from my US bank account. Thanks!

I would get the Chase Sapphire Preferred. You can use the travel portal for a greater redemption (vs. cash redemption) or transfer points to travel partners. It is good for international use too - no fees, etc.

I don't know anything about the Capital One cards, so can't comment there.

You’ll be in my neck of the woods as I am 30 min from York and 1 hr from Lancaster Just on the MD side.

Do you have any type of business? EBay sales, Facebook sales, bake cookies, tutoring, etc. If so, the CIP (Chase Ink Preferred) is a great starter since it comes with largest bonus at 80k ($800 you could cash out or use their travel portal for a better redemption.)

If not, the CSR (Chase Sapphire Reserve) is a great personal card. It has a high AF but you get $300 travel credit and global entry (if that’s of any use to you). It has a 50k bonus that you get 1.5x when using the travel portal instead of 1.25 with the CIP or CSP.

There is also the ability to join Dischurners where’s lots of good info and the ability to support other Dis’ers.

Have a great time in PA and DC!
