Well at least you won’t lose MR points if that is the case. The Amex Everyday card is also no fee but has a 2x bonus category for US supermarkets. It also offers a 20% bonus on your MR earnings each billing cycle when you make 20 or more purchases. I’d take that over a 1 MR point card. Have you already had the Everyday card? Just wondering why you’d choose the Blue over the Everyday since both are no AF.
one reason...I want to ditch my biz green AF which is due in a few days...and need to park my MR's somewhere, got the popup on the biz blue.(no shock I'm a terrible customer lol) I prob picked wrong as Amex has about a million cards that all look so similiar to me...

We went to see Coming From Away at Kennedy Center and it was very enjoyable, but I didn't have to use my box of tissues, just one or two. I would like to see it again to better try and catch some of the earlier dialogue as the pace was pretty fast and I think I missed a lot of the earlier references and it took me a bit to get my ear accustomed to the portrayed accents.

Overall, I recommend this musical and will try to catch it again If possible.

Ahhhh...Okay, thank you. So apples to apples it's a better deal to use the UR b/c $285 beats $322.
I meant I could earn 2x bonus points if I used the chase shop online link.
Thanks again. I'll stick with the UR.
wait wait...... so I have to do this very soon too.... if I see a cheaper deal elsewhere, it would cost less UR to cash out for a ticket? Argh! I never even thought of that! I wish I had back when visitorlando was having a sale!

I got those two cards mixed up. I actually have both. The everyday card is the one I get better offers on usually and the one I have the Sam’s club offer on. The Blue card that I have has 3% back at grocery stores. I have had both of them for 10 plus years but no other Amex. I had been cashing out the MR one for gift cards when they had discounts but haven’t done that since I started following here. Planning to save them until I get another MR card and use for something bigger and better hopefully!
I just gpt a sams offer on the new blue card I just apped for....it's on my acct page already.... since that's what I have I won't worry about it now....

Musings from the weekend: We just had a nice last minute weekend getaway to WDW. There were no DVC rooms to be had. Cash rates for all of the off property hotels were ridiculous and we didn’t want to blow UR points for surge pricing due to the holiday week. Marriott BonBlah Brilliant (old SPG lux) to the rescue. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott that was $276 per night with $15 per night parking. We got a late 2 pm checkout thanks to Gold status which was nice. We asked them to split the charges between the 2 cards upon checking out. Voila free unplanned weekend to WDW paid.

I know many don’t like to keep high AF cards and there is nothing wrong with that. The high AF cards like this one and the Aspire are factored into our yearly vacation budget. Their purpose is served when spontaneity comes into play. Between the resort credit and the FN certs they totally earn their keep.

Great use of your Lux credit! Have you stayed at the Bohemian Hotel (Marriott) over in Celebration? I may add this night to an upcoming trip as an arrival night to stretch our Disney time.

My annual fees on my hotel cards are definitely part of my vacation budget. Those fees and cards usually make it possible for me to double my hotel budget. And right now Marriott free nights are burning a hole in my pocket. I like to hold onto points but the certs are so easy to use!

Annual fees on other cards are a bit harder for me to justify, but so far I've done okay. Can't wait to leave for Disney and trying to find reasons to leave earlier!

Buying on the CIP would 'cost' you $285, where you buy from SAMs you would need to cash out $322 (32,200 pts). So would be a pts savings of around 3,600.

Re-read it, What do you mean using the chase portal to buy from SAMs?
....and I read this too fast and read it backwards lol.So never mind on my question for this unless my numbers come up different.:thumbsup2

Just spent 270k Marriott points booking 10 nights in Australia! I was up half of the night plotting our internal flights and hotels. I still need to book my 3 nights at the Park Hyatt and 3 misc nights and the internal flights but it’s becoming more real.

My electric company is driving me nuts this weekend. I have a few more dollars I can get 5x on with my Hyatt card through Dec 31. Only $55 to be exact but that would be 220 extra Hyatt points which are worth 3x to me! So, to put in perspective it's only a few dollars but any other time my electric company would have billed me by now.

I usually pay $600 in advance each time for a $1.95 fee. They won't allow a payment (I've tried) until I actually owe them something and right now I have a small $30 credit. Last month they billed on the 28th, but this month that's a weekend and I guess there is nothing auto about this process.

Anyway I'll sign in again later today and try again. If it doesn't come available tomorrow, my bill won't actually be due until early February, so I'll keep my funds for the month of January.

Do you have BGE? That is the one bill I don’t pay by CC.

Pepco. They charge 1.95, so I do $600 usually on a 2% card, unless there is a promo like this time.

BGE doesn't take credit cards? My gas company doesn't even charge. I just pay with a card on the website. But my natural gas usage is only about $650 a year for heat. Daughter has BGE and I was confused at first because my gas and electric are separate companies.

It's supposed to go up to 68 degrees here today. I've got to get motivated and go do some more yard cleanup.

That's amazing!

What hotels did you pick?

I have an old gmail address that I haven't been using. Took the time to get a new password and log in.

Found a 'settlement' email from Zappos for a security lapse back in 2012 and a coupon for 10% off good through tomorrow.

I've been staying away from that website as I always find something to spend on.

I wish they had a biz card. I could really use some IGH points, but not sure I want to burn a x/24 spot for it.

If you buy points today, they are at a great price. Double points. I'm probably gonna do it.

I just got Disney Premiere Credit Card and I want to make sure this is an okay strategy. If I buy Disney gift cards at my local grocery store, I get to double-dip with 2% in Disney points and then I get points for the gas discount our grocery store using their king supers card. Is that a good strategy?

Not familiar with that grocery store but in general yes. You can earn grocery store points on your rewards card for the store + your credit card rewards from your cc company.

CONGRATS on your card approval!
