Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Doing our very first CL stay at AKL in March. I couldn't get CL level for the whole day so we have standard room the first night. I should be able to enjoy breakfast at the lounge though since it will be the CL check in day, right? So I am thinking after breakfast, we will need to leave our bags with the bell hop until we are notified our CL room is ready? I'm so excited!!
We had this happen to us on a CL stay at the BWI once. We had planned to stay 10 nights but when we booked we could only get 9 nights in the CL so we booked a standard room at the BWI for the first night. I don't know how they did it but when we arrived they had us booked at the CL for the whole stay and we didn't have to switch rooms. Bonus was we were not charged the difference between the standard room that we had payed for and the CL room that we received.

This morning for hot dishes at AKL CL we have both oatmeal and biscuits and sausage gravy!

For evening hot dishes, last night we had tamarind meatballs and a chef plated soup and pork dish.

The previous evening we had chicken nuggets with bbq sauce on the side and a chef plated duck confit and I believe a seafood dish, it wasn't something I was interested in so I guess I didn't pay a lot of attention.

Similar to last year I am finding all the services I have been to quite substantial and things are replenished regularly, it has been quite easy to find a CM to get a drink, they are always milling about cleaning up the serving area and such,

I am soooo jealous of you as tonight is Butter Chicken night! I won’t lie, we always book our trips to include a Friday if we are going to be at KC. Enjoy!!!

Like many others have said the food and drinks in the lounge is a big plus to staying in the CL. Breakfast especially is a big time saver as we tend to get up early and it's so nice to not have to stand in any lines for breakfast. With all that said though I think there are a lot of other little things that make staying CL worth the price to us.
1) They can really help if you have a problem with any billing. I once noticed when we returned to the hotel that we had actually been double charged for our sit down lunch. Yes I could have gone to a guest service desk and had them help us at any deluxe hotel but it was nice to just stop at the CL desk and have them check into it for us and have the extra charge removed.

2) I once had a screw on my eye glasses loosen up and they had a tiny screw driver to fix it with.

3) My sister in law needed distilled water for her sleeping machine and we weren't driving that year so I called ahead and a gallon of distilled water was waiting in our room when we arrived.

4) I can't say how many times we have had help over the years with FP screw up's, lol!

5) It's really nice to only have to go a short way to find help when your MB refuses to open your room door, instead of way back to the main desk!

6) it's only happened once to us but the CL CM where such a huge help when our flight home was canceled and we got stranded at Disney.

We have stayed at a couple of different CL but our favorite by far is the BWI CL. The above list is just some of the "little" things that the CL CM have helped us with over the years. Have a great trip!
Seeing your list of how helpful the CL CMs are reminded me of the time my friend superglued her lips together WITH THE SUPERGLUE the CMs had given her to fix her shoe! There was quite a commotion after it happened! I’m sure they had visions of lawsuits running through their heads! I’m a terrible friend because all I could do was laugh! They gave her wine to use on the glue & it worked well enough to get her unstuck. I feel sure my friend & I are on some bad list somewhere!

I have been trying to stay unplugged this trip other than a couple of quick updates on the RotR thread, but just wanted to pop in and say that after all the worrying over different CLs, we have had an amazing time at GF SL! Our home airport is supposed to be hit by that big winter storm tonight and tomorrow, so SW was already offering free flight changes yesterday morning. I was able to move our flights home to the following day, booked one more night here - with the gift of magic discount even - and the CL staff were able to connect the reservations and keep us in the same room for the extra night. I’ll have a more detailed report once we’re back home, but my family has had a wonderful experience this trip and I’m so glad we made the switch from BC!
That’s amazing.

Since I know you were all on the edge of your seats waiting for me to make a decision (lol), I wanted to share that we're doing Poly CL (not BWI)! Your feedback was so wonderful - thanks so much for helping me. In the end, your comments made me realize we couldn't go wrong either way, and my husband was really excited by the idea of Poly, and I REALLY hate clowns, so we just called it based on that. :) We did call signature services about the food and they said if we call a week or two before we go and tell the CL concierge that we are going to be two rooms of vegetarians/fish-but-not-shellfish eaters, the chef would "try to accommodate that" in the week's offerings. We shall see. We won't starve!
Yay!! Hope you have a wonderful stay! Love Poly! :cloud9:

My husband hates coffee but loves his tea. You will be happy to know that the CL always have a large selection of Twinning's tea bags set out at all times. When we stay CL we like to do one sit down breakfast (Boma) and one breakfast at Epcot in France but other than that we really enjoy having breakfast in the lounge.
But no Chai, dang it all
I popped down to the store in epcot and bought me some

My son and I just had a wonderful 3 night stay at Contemporary CL. Everything was perfect, I am DVC,he is not. He took a DVC tour and a special incentive was a $75.00 visa gift card, which he used for drinks and snacks at California Grill. I played bingo and won the second round. My prize was free rental for the SeaRacer boats. We took a nice ride, in this not so fast board around Bay Lake and seven seas lagoon. No parks, just r and r for us, we were nicely pampered.

Thanks everyone, we’re even more excited! I did have a Poly specific question, we booked one of the Oasis patios for our arrival day originally so that we would have some nice chill time while waiting for our room to be ready since we get in so early. Obviously now that we booked CL that opens another option. Are we able to bring food from the lounge to the patio? We have it for the full day.

I'm glad you're having a great time and enjoying SL. Enjoy your extra day :wizard:.

Glad you had a great stay and enjoyed CR CL. Sounds like you and your DS had a nice relaxing trip :).

Poly doesn’t necessarily have “carry out” plates or trays. You can do things like put the nut/snack mix in a coffee cup. You can put lettuce wraps (Poly’s main daytime dish) in a napkin and carry them that way. Poly CL doesn’t have an overly abundant daytime snack selection, so generally speaking there’s not ‘much’ there I think you’d want to take to the pool anyway (in my opinion).

I’d opt for the food at the Oasis Pool Bar & Grill over what you’ll find in the CL lounge mid-day.

Of course, you can take beverages out of the lounge to the pool. CMs are happy to provide a plastic cup if needed.

An Oasis Patio on arrival day sounds like a great plan!

Thanks. I was thinking more about drinks since we decided to forgo purchasing mugs on this trip now that we have the lounge. We really enjoyed the Oasis food when we rented a patio on our first stay. That time we kinda hit the ground running and we’re looking for a much more relaxing arrival day.

Cool. Sodas are stocked in the fridge all day and are self-serve. Alcohol (beer and wine) is by request, but CMs are nearly always around and quick to grab things upon request.

They have water, juice, tea, etc in larger containers in the lounge that is self-serve, although the to-go cups are rather small.

CMs will usually provide a carafe of filtered ice water on request - it’s a plastic carafe so it might be nice to grab one and some to-go cups for the pool if it’s a hot day. Poly CL doesn’t have water bottles as some CLs do, just FYI.

Hope that helps!

Would it be frowned upon to bring back the refill cups from a prior trip (just so we have insulated cups) to use to fill those with tea or juice to take down to the pool?

I just booked AK CL for a trip in June. Initially I was really excited but I found a list of the evening offerings and it doesn’t look vegetarian friendly (I’ll eat some fish but my son wont and other than that we are both lacto-ovo vegetarians). Anyone have recent experience at AKL CL or have advice in which CLs would offer more veg friendly offerings? I have stayed at BC CL several times and that was ok but was looking for something different. Hmm, I may need to rethink this. Bkfast still good, drinks and the little advantages or CM help but not sure worth it for two.

We found a lot of options at CR CL. We’re booked for July at Poly CL which also doesn’t look very veggie friendly, but we called signature services and they said to call a couple of weeks before the trip and request that the club level menu our week has vegetarian options. Don’t know if it will work but we’re going to try!
