Official Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend 2020

I wish Duffy and Friends had a presence in the American parks....

That makes two of us. I try to comment every time they announce something related to Duffy and friends that we'd like to see them back in the American parks.

Duffy was on course for the half okay now back to topic

Yes, my friend posted a picture and I freaked out! She said there was no line. What???? Do people not realize how rare that is???? He was in a Santa suit.

Marathon weekend has made me very much want to do Wine & Dine, but I don't want to do a solo trip. Haven't spoken to my sister yet, but I assume it's a no-go because of school. I mentioned it in passing to a friend to see if she might be someone to ask, but she can't take off then. So things are not looking good for me coming down.
I think the moral of the story is that I either need to make more friends or get the few friends I have more interested in runDisney.

We'll be your friends! And although I missed it this past year the group normally does a meetup and it's awesome!

With the after party, will the ticket get me in to Epcot that evening or will I also need to have a valid park pass?

The after party ticket works much like other hard ticket events. It will get you into the park at the time of the party and if you want to enter earlier you need a normal ticket. This year I believe you got in at 5pm and the park closed a few hours later to non-party guests.

I feel like with the villains theme and the fact that it’s not the same weekend as NYC, it might be super popular this year

Plus Jersey Week plus anniversary of 10k/Challenge, plus will be the first race that Club Disney advance shopping/coral upgrades take place, plus weekend Christmas historically is filmed

I have been considering doing the Wine and Dine as my first race, but seeing all this about how busy it will be is making me skeptical. :worried: Maybe I should wait til 2021...

Thanks. Never attended a hard ticket event so needed to make sure.

I was thinking the same thing I don't want my first Run Disney event to be horrible considering how much money it is going to cost.

I'm in for the challenge. Gotta show off the spatula! And might as well keep up the challenge perfect status too.
I waiver on the 5K, but my weakness is Disney Villains, so I will be all in.

Yes, I'm a little nervous about registration this year, especially since I won't have an AP. But I'll just have multiple devices and be therew ith bells on. Maybe if my oldest isn't working (as he works retail) I'll have him come run a device for me! LOL!

I am torn about what I'll do after this year. I'm perfect for the challenge so I can't decide if I'll keep running it or not. My friend and I committed to the five years (and ran the half of a half year too) so we'll see. I'm running all three races. I think my husband and I have decided to run Dopey next year so I figure I might as well embrace the suck and do all three races as "training"! LOL!

In for my first Disney race(s)! My SIL is coming with me and we can’t wait!!! I initially asked if she wanted to do the half, but when she said yes, she added that we should do the 10K, too! So I guess we’re doing the challenge! I reserved a DVC studio for us, so room is taken care of. I am approaching these races purely with fun in mind! I’ll find other races to work on PRs and such! 😉

I realize that this will make me very unpopular, but I don’t love the Villains theme. However, I do understand the need to mix things up and that a lot of people ARE excited. I’m crossing my fingers for Bowler Hat Guy to be out. Our family adores Meet the Robinsons!

Bowler Hat Guy was out at the 10k last year about a minute wait

For those of you who have done Wine and Dine before, what are the park crowds like over the weekend? TouringPlans has them pretty large, up to 7's and 8's.
Epcot is pretty crowded but I didn’t find the other parks to be as bad as marathon weekend or holiday weeks.

Just read about major construction projects on the road where this/Star Wars starts..... I wonder if things will go back to an epcot to Epcot route?

Bowler Hat guy was also at the after party. I kind of wish I'd stopped at the race, but the line was sooo long! It was still long at the after party, but shorter than the race. And the advantage to the after party was Bowler Guy loved my husband's mustache and he didn't run so at least we have hilarious pictures with him now!
