Sailing out of Bayonne - motion sickness

Hi all - someone just scared me by telling me that when you sail out of Bayonne (we're doing Anthem in March), that the seas are really rough for the first day or two when you're still up North and that lots of people get sick. Did I fall for someone messing with me or have others found this to be true? Nothing I can do about it either way, of course, but

We sailed out of there in June and the seas were not too bad. March might be a little bit rough though. I always recommend for people to take dramamine (non drowsy) the night before you will be on a boat then take it again just before the boat sets sail. This way the medicine is already in your system. Don't wait to feel sick and plan ahead.

Bonine has the same active ingredient as the non-drowsy Dramamine II, but most people have fewer side effects on Bonine. After 20+ cruises with a family very prone to motion sickness, I highly recommend bonine.

I just sailed out of there on Anthem on the 1/5 cruise and the water was fine when we left. We had a rocky night approaching Antigua when it was very windy (we ended up missing the port) but in and out of Bayonne was fine. This was ny 4th cruise out of Bayonne and all of the others were fine as well. We have sailed out of there in January and July.

Thank you!

Have had 3 cruises out of Bayonne so far, 1 going north to Canada, the other 2 heading south. Never noticed any roughness/motion in particular. Maybe we've just been lucky.
