"Then I don't have to explain why I'm eating a Mickey Bar at nine in the morning"

"I can't bear to see my head explode again...as you continue to sleep at 8:30am"

"Tent camping DOES appeal to me"

"Why YES, I AM going to sit on this bench, eat my Dole Whip, and just watch people be happy for twenty minutes"

"I want to see what happens when I DON'T wait in line for an hour to ride an attraction that doesn't appeal to me"

"I'd like to have a very mild hangover at tomorrow's rope drop"

"I want to take four breaths in a row where I don't have to count all of you"

"I've gleaned all I can from the experience of continually taking inventory of your personal possessions"

"I've run out of NEW ways to convince you to stop nagging your sister"

"I actually WANT to hear the Dapper Dans finish their performance"

I know we have just been on this ride, but I want to go back on again and maybe a third or fourth time in a row, instead of walking with purpose to the other end of the park to ride your favorite ride.

Yes I know we have been here for 12 hours and you are tired but I'm not, and I don't want to leave

Shock , horror I have no interest in meeting characters

I really don't want to eat more fries and pizza , I want to have a nice meal but we can't cos of your food allergies / budget / picky eaters

I'm going solo for the first time next month and can't WAIT to do this!

Also can't wait to close the parks every night (no "we've done everything, let's go back to the resort now!"), eat my weight in snacks, and go on Tower of Terror however many times I want.

Why yes, my child, I am going to stop and take a picture of THAT which you think is nothing important. Why can't you understand that the magic is in the details?

Yes, I am going to watch the parade again this trip even though I've seen it half a dozen times before.

Oooohhhh, I cannot wait for my first solo trip :)

I can still see more things and ride more rides while taking my time at a relaxed pace instead of running to the other side of the park after we just had a 30-minute discussion about what should be done next.

I can stay until after the park closes to take pictures of it being nearly empty while you are standing with a mob of humanity trying to get on the next bus back to the resort.

I don't want to plan anyone else's vacation.

I can eat where I want without worrying about other's picky eating (the one I'm MOST excited about)

Room service, I'm gonna do it.

Honestly, this solo trip seems like the perfect antidote to my displeasure at vacation planning for my family.

This is really sad to read, I’m so sorry it’s so aggravating, I feel your pain. I’m really lucky that my primary travel partner is my gf and our interests/eating habits/touring preferences are pretty much the same. And she is very much go with the flow. But I refuse to plan anything for my family anymore after the last time I went with them. If I don’t go with gf I go solo. Zero complaining that way.

Also, room service is such a treat if you stay Deluxe. We did it twice at the Poly.

It's called being a mom...don't be sad

I thought of another one just now—being spontaneous is so much easier solo. My weekend trip in November was awesome for that. Saturday night I ate at Crew’s Cup lounge at YC and kinda didn’t know what to do with myself afterwards except I did NOT want to go back to Epcot due to F&W insanity. So I decided to go for a walk and on a whim walked over to the Studios just to check out the Xmas decorations, and do whatever the mood struck. I rode Star Tours in standby since the wait was really short, then I decided to see Galaxy’s Edge for the first time. Ended up soaking in the gorgeous nighttime atmosphere and rode Falcon single rider. I hit up Toy Story Mania on the way out as a walk on since the park was closing. Then I walked back to Epcot to see the new fireworks. It was probably the most chill night I’ve ever had there.

I love going with my gf but there’s a freedom to solo trips that’s really special.
