Any thoughts on my dd's app for Spring 2020?

They are allowed to have other shoes- the brand just can't be super noticeable. She has a pair of Skechers Work Cozard. Safe travels!
Thank you! Those look great if she doesn’t like the ones provided. I saw they are on amazon so that makes it easy if she needs them!

Wendow how are you doing? My DD has been there 3 weeks now & is finally feeling like she knows what's going on. So be warned. PM me if you need any info.

A wave of offers for Fall DCP went out today...and my daughter got one!!! To say she's excited is putting it mildly. She got QSFB -- not her first choice but after not getting an offer last semester, she's totally ok with it and excited simply to have the opportunity to work at Disney!

That is great!

Congrats to your daughter! Mine loves QSFB. Well maybe not today- it was her first morning shift:rotfl:If I was Fall DCP, I would beg for anything that might keep me inside!

My DD would probably love the opening shift. She actually prefers that shift at Starbucks (means she has to be there by 4:30 a.m.) so an opening shift at Disney would probably mean she can sleep in a bit. :D Yeah, I'm hoping she's indoors somewhere. She said she doesn't care if she's outside, but I think that will change after a day or two of typical September weather. She was really hoping to be placed at a Starbucks location but since she didn't get "Specialty" QSFB she knows she's not there (unless something changes). She's just so happy to have gotten an offer.

My DD received Front Desk for FA. She is WELL AWARE how lucky she is to be inside, at all times. But, you should have seen her face when I said she might have to work some overnights! The girl likes her sleep! :)

Hi @bluezy!!! Thanks for checking in! Oh my goodness, so happy for your girl! This is such great news!! I can only imagine her (and your) excitement. I keep seeing things online about the apps dropping for fall 2020 and it's kind of surreal that my dd doesn't need to do that and we don't have to ride that roller coaster for the 4th time lol!

My dd is so excited to begin her CP! She had a Jan 21 check-in date but she has a really good friend that she met through the app process a couple of times ago and that girl got in and they wanted to room together. Her friend could only get a Feb 3 check-in date (which has a different check-out date than the Jan check-ins) and you can only room with same check-out date so long story, my dd switched to the Feb 3rd date as well. SO, she has 3 more weeks! She is having a hard time as other friends are checking in now but she is also Spring Advantage so she has more time in the program overall.

Due to a kind of weird situation, my dd was able to find out her location early (she is at BoG!!) so we are anxiously awaiting where she will live. It's so fun watching all the kids finding out their locations and apartment. The excitement is just contagious!

Fingers crossed for your dd! Keep us posted!!
OMG Wendow. I just saw this. That is exactly where my DD was at this time last year. She loved BOG! Your DD will too I'm sure!

Thank you! I just flew home last night. Saying goodbye was ROUGH but we are all doing okay. My dd has quite a few friends down there and is very good friends with her roomie. I do think I'd have had an even harder time leaving her if that wasn't the case. As much as she has dreamed of this and desperately wanted it, she is also so nervous. There have been lots of tears over the last few days and I'm sure we will have a few more 'cry sessions' before we all settle into this new routine. My dd will have traditions on Friday and then begins training on Sunday-Tuesday. I hope she starts working soon. I think that will be good for her.

Congrats!!! So happy to come back to this news! Exactly how my dd was - QS wasn't first choice but just happy to get in!

My dd is so excited to be there! What were your dd's shifts like? I get the impression, getting to be at BOG, is kind of a dream location since no night shifts.

We left on a Tuesday and she had Traditions on that Friday, then training started Sunday. Lots of time to be homesick! At least your DD has a friend that's great. Trying to find Costuming was not fun for her. Apparently nothing is marked backstage?? Thankfully things are going better now.

Mine is scared of costuming, doesn't want to go back :rotfl: Every time I talk with her she is doing laundry!
I hate they have so many days off that first week- especially because they can't get into the parks.

I know it wasn't a good time. She considered buying a ticket but decided to wait until she got in for free. Quite a few kids were either AP holders or buying tickets! Mine does laundry a lot also LOL.

The first couple of weeks, training was very early (she's not a morning person and didn't have her car) but after that it was consistently around 8-9am to 3-4pm every day. The older CP's liked the real early shifts, so they took those. She had nearly every evening free to visit parks. She loved that schedule. She later extended and got attractions in HS, loved that too, but it was outdoors nearly the entire time thru the end of July, so she was really ready to come home when she was done. Wished she'd have stayed indoors at BOG! As soon as she's done with school, she hopes to go back, so I guess you could say she enjoyed her DCP. I know how hard it is to be so far away - we are also out your way. All the best to you and your DD!.

I know I have plenty of time to think about this, but those of you who have dropped your kids off for DCP, did you stay at a Disney resort for those days that you stayed in town or did you stay off property to be closer to the DCP housing? I assumed we'd stay on property (we're snobs like that. :D) but then a friend of ours whose DD did DCP last year (and who also always stays on property) said we would want to stay off property to be closer to the DCP complexes. We will be driving there if that makes any difference. Thoughts? Experience?

We stayed at CSR. We rented a car. I never found myself saying I wish we would've stayed closer. Prior to her check in at housing we found the Publix nearby and gas stations to kind of get her to learn the area. Move in day was the only day we needed to be near the housing, and we left the day after check-in.

I’ve read the costuming is messed up too. And my dd told me that she was told the sizing is all men’s ...? Do they have someone helping them find their sizing?

My dd has an AP but I feel bad for the kids who can’t get in. None of her roommates can get in yet so today they did resort stuff.

Did your dd do ok with the busing? Mine doesn’t have a car either and I know she’s kind of worried about that. She’s not a morning person either but glad to not have late nights!!
