Is anyone still applying for citi AA cards (or Barclay's for that matter)? My DD could use some AA miles for a possible trip to Europe in 2021.

Have you app'd for any AA cards in the last couple of years? I think that's more the question. If you are just looking to add to your stash and either haven't had a card or it's been a few years and will just be getting the one card or like one citi now and then a barclay's later in the year, it's totally different than the train. But if your DD has had AA cards recently I'd figure something else out.

I just had to reply to this cuz, well, I rarely ever hear anyone talk of Knoebels! lol. I basically grew up on going to Knoebels Grove as a kid (born/raised in Bloomsburg, PA), and try to go back as much as possible when we visit family in PA. Even after 30 years I still think it's awesome!

@Crazed4DisneyinSC @orangecuse Wow! Another Knoebels fan here! Pretty much my whole family growing up worked there (not me...I broke the streak lol). Still live about 15 minutes away & I drive by the park each week taking my two kids to Bloomsburg University! My DH and I are both BU grads as well. It’s great to see this park (and BU) get some love on the Disboards:love:

just a little tidbit...do you know that the new president of DIsneyland is a Bloomsburg graduate...how cool is that!

No she's had nothing. In fact, the only card opened in the past 2 years was a CIP. So I was thinking maybe applying for these 2 business cards maybe 6 months part could net her 150K miles, which would be enough for coach roundtrip to Europe for 2.

Well 💩 these Disney ticket price increases have me thinking I need to pull the trigger now and buy tickets through UCT. Our DL trip isn’t until the end of May, and buying tickets this early isn’t exactly what I had in mind. UCT is currently $200 savings over Disney, and if I wait I’m not sure how much the price will increase. That, and I was hoping to put the charge on a CIP (which I was planning on for May) for the extra points. If I buy them now they would go on DH’s Aspire. Not horrible, but again, not part of my plan. Darn you Disney. I had a plan 😂

I hear you. I just looked at Tickets at Work just to price their options. I do not want to buy now but it sure is tempting with the bloody increases.

Tickets at Work has 6 day hoppers for $940 or so I believe. That's a gate savings of $130 for two. #Fleeced

The Caribe Hilton is very nice. It's essentially new because it received a 100 million rebuild after Maria.

There are lots of activities and restaurants and a few shops. The pool/beach area is nice. I wish the hot tubs were better. There are two and kind of big, but they were crammed with people nonstop, which tells me the resort should add more.

I wished some of the beach chairs were cleaner - not sure what was going on there.

The food at the resort restaurants is quite good and astronomically expensive, so plan ahead for that. We spent $250 for two adults across two meals with 4 alcoholic drinks total.
Happy to hear this, my husband might have a couple of weeks there for work this summer and we might join him for a few days.

Has anyone received a Citi business checking offer for 30k AA miles for $1000 in debit purchases in 60 days? I don’t see that there is a minimum deposit but this just seems too easy. I need 60k to have enough to get the 6 of us to Europe so this would be perfect. Am I missing something? Never done a bank bonus before.

my husband just got a citi savings account offer. I think it’s deposit $10k for 20,000 miles. There were 2 higher offers as well. Plus something about getting 25% bonus miles on all his citi card purchases. I was wondering if this was something new too...

Just wanted to get a second trip in. We are doing Disney the first week of June so looking for something maybe mid July thats not extremely hot.

Thanks everyone, I will have to look at Hershey/Dutch Wonderland. We'd be coming from Omaha and of course flying SW. So would have to see if Philadelphia or Baltimore work better for flights.
We booked a speculative trip to Colorado for the end of July. My kids will be 6 and 4 then. We would visit family and do some walking. We'll probably take a scenic train ride too, since DH and my kids love trains. I haven't done anything more than book the flight as of now, though.

BWI is a SW hub so there are probably lots of flights. Baltimore is closer than Philly but not much. You would save on the tolls since from Philly the easiest route in the PA Turnpike.

Even though we are close by, we have stayed at many of the hotels in the area since we like weekend getaways.

Any questions, ask away!

1.). I'm not sure why it has been said that LHR is difficult to fly in/out of? It's just like any airport, has it's hassles although busy. It's one of the shortest flight distances from the US so I actually would recommend flying in there. London is always my recommended "first trip to Europe from the US" cities as there isn't a language barrier, yet it definitely feels very European. It's one of my favorite cities!

The issue with flying out of LHR are the taxes and fees, not getting the flight. For one person on BA on an award ticket in business class, it costs over $500 just in taxes and fees, and hundreds more than that if you fly first class. That is the reason so many of us are avoiding leaving from there. I agree that London and England are great places to visit, but instead my family is taking a train to Paris the same day our ship is docking in Dover. We just didn't want to bother with the fees this time around.

DW Got home and I presented the idea. She was not very enthused about it since we are doing Disney first week of June and so we'd have to go mid July as to have some down time after we get back but not run into the 4th rush...

I'll have to have a look. Prob will have to plan for next summer. I am thinking we'll just do Disney then a small trip to each of the parents KS/IL. @SouthFayetteFan made me panic and want to get flights booked today, to anywhere. :badpc:

If you have lots of points laying around...there's no risk in snagging something!! If it's not points...then yeah you better know what your plans are.

I have like 240k points but 0 places to go right now. :confused3 Looked up flights to Chicago and they are all the same price so todays gig won't do me any good for that, thats about the only thing I know we'll be doing but just don't know the dates yet. The massive AP increased messed with my plans this year.
