The DisFort's Chit Chat Cafe

Picked it up and got into driveway today (after buying 6 - 2x10x12 boards and getting them cut in half to lift trailer enough to get bumper
past bottom of driveway)! Just glad I could get it in!! Had an outdoor spot reserved at local storage place just in case....

Well we finally had some dry days in a row. Took the chance to attempt to get our trailer off of the pad so we could get an estimate on fixing it. And well the yard is worse for the wear, but trailer is on the hardball. Maybe on Wednesday evening I can get it to the garage for estimate. I then have to get the truck to the shop for a fault code and the yearly inspection. Trailer will also need an inspection upcoming.....
Gonna need to get a bobcat in cut the yard some and put down fabric then some stone for a driveway to the pad. Maybe I can cut a pathway, laydown fabric, put some stone in, then sand it so I can plant grass to hide it.

Jimmy,

Good looking trailer. Mine has the same tail hang, plus they decided to mount the spare under the back. It would be great to back into my neighbors drive way when I'm backing out of my drive, but it literally drags the spare tire. :)

Chris,

Any excuse to play with a Bobcat is a good excuse. Have fun and I hope the trailer gets fixed quick.

Backing in was another part I wasn’t sure of at first... cut down a few big branches on a tree that hangs over driveway last week... did the trick... didn’t get to close to tree, but overhang behind wheels did have me wondering....

Also with the length have to make a few back and forth corrections to get lined up in driveway off of my street.

Nice rig Jimmy - Congrats.

Figuring out storage is always fun. I truly miss being able to keep the rig at my house (current driveway is shorter than our trailer), so I'm glad it worked out for you. Maintenance, upgrades and load/unload are a whole lot easier when you don't have to spend an hour driving to storage, hooking up, driving home, etc...

You are so right! Having the coach right next to the house in a garage was the single driving factor for our home purchase.

If you want grass to grow don't put down the fabric. If you put the gravel down and compact it in, throw some top soil on top and seed it you can make it less of a mud pit. Did this at an older property and one season later you couldn't tell.

We are planning to do that at the new place to add some stability on the sides of the driveway, and then I am putting down at least 2" in an area that is just mud and never grows grass where I park the truck and overhang the RV.

Not sure if you all knew this, cared, or if this is even the right place but Bob Chapek is replacing Bob Iger.

Fascinating :scratchin Things that make you go "HMMM"

His exit has been a known commodity for a while. From what I'm reading, it's more of a stepping back from operational duties to focus on the creative, but Chapek still reports to Iger, so no real release of power. The intriguing part is the suddenness of the announcement and the naming of Chapek. The rest is really just part of the transitional process to a new CEO.

Iger stated he was not seeking to renew past 21, I think he is ready to take his fat check and retire.

Chapek is a know cost cutter like Roy was, but I hope he doesn't always put investors first over guests and continue to cut back services so the shareholders get more.

So today found us dropping the trailer off to the body shop, they are doing the estimate in the morning and then we will decide what is happening. Sounded promising. Then it is time for state inspections on everything and time to start counting down to the Fort.
