Welcome to my trip report!

Me: I am a 34 year-old cynical, sarcastic, moody... oh, wait...never mind... this is a Disney page where things are all pixie dust and mickey bars. Let's start again. I am a wife and homeschool mom and as if that doesn't keep me busy enough as it is, I am also the lead amateur humorist and top banana over at Wains World Blog. I love my family and the crazy predicaments that we find ourselves in most of the time. Like the time I justifiably found myself oinking at a Muslim man in the middle of a Bass Pro Shop. True story. That day I proved that not only is it, at times, necessary to "oink" at a Muslim man, but honorable to do so. You can read the whole story here on my blog, but just in case you're not that committed or don't have the time ...spoiler alert... he was about to eat pork rinds and didn't speak English so rather than respond like a normal human being and whip out google translate, I, the 34 year-old with the technology mind of an 80 year-old, instead resorted to oinking at him. Yup! That's me. If you think that's a doozy then you'll love reading about my husband and I's once in a lifetime gondola ride while in Venice. I guarantee you, it's one for the ages and you can read about it here.

Matt: My husband, Matt, aka Speed Racer, aka Gimpy Gills, aka Mr. Gimps, aka Peg Leg Pete, aka the butt of most of my jokes and star of my blog. He's the life of this family party. He's the extrovert in this relationship and I thank him for that... until he's making US lifelong friends everywhere HE goes. If it were up to me I'd stop at like 5 friends, but he needs a minimum of like 50 to function. He nearly always finds himself injured on our vacations but if he's not limping around or being ushered around in a wheelchair pushed by your's truly, he's speed racing, zig zagging, bobbing and weaving through the crowds at the parks with me about a mile behind. He's late to the traveling world but since meeting me, he's hooked. Best of all, the man loves Disney Cruise Line more than any other cruise line. Yup, I hit the jackpot, ladies. Well, except that he's a diehard NY Yankee fan and I am a diehard NY Met fan. The rivalry was fun until we had kids...now we're both competing for our child's sports fandom and our poor kids are going to need counseling. So. Much. Counseling.

Benjamin: My oldest who is 5 years old. He's our timid guy just like mommy, but once he's comfortable or with people he loves, he's pretty outgoing & fun... just like mommy. He is a big fan of super heroes, especially Batman, and him being partially named after him has absolutely nothing to do with his love for Batman. True story, he's "Benjamin Bruce Wain", but he truly started his love affair with the caped crusader long before he knew his middle name- without any prodding from mom & dad.

Vivian: My youngest who turns 4 in March. Vivian has lived up to the meaning of her name, "lively". She's our whirlwind and boy does she hit like a wrecking ball. She is full of personality and I'm sure you'll be hearing ALLLLLL about her antics on this trip. This is her first Disney Cruise where she'll be old enough to be in the kids clubs so she's so excited...and we're just excited to not have to pay for the nursery anymore!

The Pre-Cruise:
New Orleans, LA
February 11-14, 2020

We will be staying in New Orleans, just outside the French Quarter, for three nights before our cruise. We have never been to New Orleans so we are super excited and I feel like I'm already gaining weight just from all the restaurant research I've been doing. They really should think about making laptops drool-proof. Just sayin'. We will be there in the thick of Mardi Gras so that should be interesting...with toddlers.

The Cruise:
The Disney Wonder
February 14-21, 2020
7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise out of New Orleans

I have not been on the Wonder since 2009 and the rest of the Wain Tang Clan have never sailed on her so we're all really excited. This will be my 9th DCL cruise so it'll be nice to kinda feel like I'm on a new ship, though it's so similar to the Magic, my favorite DCL ship. We will be visiting Grand Cayman, Jamaica, & Cozumel...hopefully. Watching today's news about the earthquakes outside of Grand Cayman & Jamaica has us a bit on watch. Honestly, I've seen the Caribbean so much, I could just do a week on the ship & be thrilled. Speaking of, have you ever sailed a Transatlantic?? DO IT!!

What to expect:

On my trip reports you can expect lots of pictures (especially food pics), sarcasm, husband mockery, mommy rants, and more. What's not to love, right? I will be posting semi-live on my actual blog and then once I return I will be posting each day here. So if the anticipation is just killing you to read my ramblings and see allllllll those foodie pics, head on over to my blog and subscribe, but if you can wait to have my daily rants and ramblings in your life then just hold steady right here and once I'm home I'll start this journey all over again.

Finally, the story behind this grandiose trip title:
"2019 Disney Foodie of the Year" Fact is, I didn't even know such a title existed until it was my title. You see, my husband, this past fall, was sent to Orlando by his job to work for 6 weeks all expenses paid. Since I am a stay-at-home homeschool mom, I had nothing holding me back so off our family went, with three days notice, to live out of a hotel enjoying Disney World for six weeks, since we already had annual passes from a previous trip. So he worked and we Disneyed. While visiting Disney World for those 6 weeks, I would take pics of all the food I ate and post it on the Facebook page, "Disney Foodies" with a small mini blog to go along with it. I was just being silly entertaining myself more than anything or so I thought. Turns out, there's just something about the title, "6 Weeks of Disney" that gets people's attention and I got a little following. By the end of that 6 weeks, in total, I had posted to Disney Foodies 22 times with all the fun I was having and all the weight I was gaining thanks to allllll that Disney food. The Disney Foodies nominated me "Foodie of the Year" not long after that. It was actually through that experience where many of the Disney Foodies actually encouraged me to start blogging again, that I listened and started my blog. So thanks to the encouragement of tons of complete strangers on the FB Disney Foodies page, I now bring the world stories of my every day life of crazy. Ironic part, they all don't even know it! The rules on Disney Foodies states that you can't promote your blog, so that's the main reason for my title...to try and let them see what they helped create... and well, aside from the car that I won when I was 15 but couldn't keep because I was underage, I've never won anything before & if I had to win something, the title of Disney Foodie of the Year is pretty up there. I mean, if I had to choose 1 million dollars or being titled Disney Foodie of the Year by 97k people... never mind.

Now enough of that! Let's get going already!

Awesome!!! I’m dying to do a Panama Canal crossing. Welcome!

Started reading on the blog. I'd love to hear about luggage drop off if you have any insight. So far there are no reports of anyone who is not parking in the garage being able to check bags.

We were dropped off via car service & the porters took our bags without issue. Another group I spoke with were able to drive in & drop off their luggage and continue their day elsewhere and return at their later port arrival time.

YAY!! You don't know how happy this makes me that you found my blog! It's cause of you all that I started it, after all! I get why Disney Foodies doesn't allow advertising blogs but it's so frustrating for me in this regard! Glad to have you following along!

I am so jealous you got to go in the cruise out of New Orleans! I live here and every time I saw the Disney Wonder I squealed and took grainy photos lol!

cant wait to read more!

hahaha I’m trying not to but it’s so hard! All the food is good but the past two years I made a resolution that I wouldn’t go to the same restaurant twice in one calendar year
