>> Refillable Mug FAQ <<

Why would they get fired and arrested? If it’s in the trash, it’s in the trash and no one owns them.

Unless - wait - were they selling them as new in the park to unsuspecting guests?!?! Because that’s disgusting, but if they’re selling on Craigslist or eBay, who cares?

Grossly, yes they were cleaning and re-selling at the park. Beyond disgusting.

I REALLY want the Skyliner one, I HOPE they still have it in June...
We are here now (beginning of March) and the only ones we could find for the $10 upgrade were the Star Wars mugs. I really wanted the Skyliner one. 😕 Went ahead and purchased the Star Wars one because it's still a good deal even though I'm not a Star Wars fan.

What resort are you at?

Would you feel comfortable using a stranger's refillable mug? Perhaps highly-contagious diseases in the news would make even the typically more-adventurous among us say no at this time.

I was just daydreaming about selling a (standard-issue 14-day expiration) mug to someone at the check-in desk for $10 on my way out, thus cutting in half the price to each of us for use. The incoming party might make the reasonable request that everyone involved take a trip to the refill station to verify that its still a working mug.
Why not. Every restaurant you eat in ...someone else has used cups plates and silverware. Enjoy

Go to a skyliner resort.

The question is WHERE do you wash it? The cup rinse stations are cold water. So you have to do the washing at your resort. At most resorts that means the bathroom vanity.

Oh no, that's a shame!

I have the skyliner mug from December and I didn’t want to buy a new mug when we go back in august, can I reuse the old mug?

I see.
NOTHING Disney holiday related is the end of the world.
Almost EVERYTHING on these boards is not the end of the world.
I think we all know that.
The parameters around, that's a shame not to get the exact mug I liked best, are very different from, that's a shame, DH, that you have to travel across London repeatedly with Leukaemia, in the middle of the coronavirus problems.
Not all issues are equal. That's just called being alive.

We're going back in September and I understand that we can bring our mugs from January to use again after paying the fee.. but isn't the cost of a new mug included in the fee? Shouldn't we just buy new mugs while we're there or am I mistaken? TIA!

That's how we view it and always get new ones. Some guests make multiple trips per year and have an abundance of mugs so they may not want any more.

What @dansdad said, was just about to type the same, but he beat me to it! 👍🏻 Only thing I would add is some people consider having mugs wasteful and prefer reusing ones they already own. I personal would consider an addition stainless steel mug for $10 a inexpensive souvenir.

If you are on the dining plan do you have to pick up the mug at your own resort? Or can I take a trip down the Skyliner and upgrade there to the Skyliner one?

Thank you both! We've only been one time ever to Disney but I can see how wasteful it can be lol. You would think they'd offer a discount for reusing an old mug!

Is there a way to buy the refillable mug, but use another mug for the drinks, so that the new mug remains unused and "new"? Like I'd want to give it as a gift to someone when I got home but I want the unlimited resort drinks it comes with. Does that make sense?
