Any thoughts on my dd's app for Spring 2020?

That is good to hear. I do hope they let all the CP people who want to return to return. This is a crazy situation that is out of their control.

So sounds like initial information was pretty abrupt but as time goes on information and help working with people are improving. Is that fair?
I do think the initial info was pretty abrupt and they’re trying now. Busing to the airport. Onsite recruiters. Working with kids who can’t leave by wed at 11.
My dd was scheduled already to be off today too. Was at MK. Then I think went to AK. I know they’re opening HS tonight after close for them so she’s going there.

I do think it was a good gesture to allow CP people access to HS today because my understanding is they have been blocked from it. It's a small thing but a good one.

Yes they lifted the blackout and are apparently allowing CP's to ride the new ride without a boarding group. This way they can ride the 2 new rides at HS if they choose.

I think it was a very nice show from Disney! My dd has an AP so she’s been able to go but she had to go alone. This will be fun for these kids!

It will be and will at least make it a bittersweet day vs a sad day. It's a least something on a very sad and unprecedented day. i still hope all the CPs that want to come back are allowed to.

Mine too - she actually had Friday off and since her friends were all busy she went to HS alone and got to ride the railway again and see some of her favorite shows. She was so happy she had done this !

My dd can't find this info do you have details or times?

That is great she at least gets to end on a happy note. Hope she gets to go back.

My dd went to HS also on Friday! They had scheduled her for a 3 day weekend and so Thursday was her last shift. I'm glad cause she's had a lot of time to play in the parks. Tomorrow, the packing and saying goodbye begins

Thanks - anything you know especially times as my dd has heard nothing on this and would be interested.
The service centers are open until 9pm. They have onsite places there for the kids to return their costumes.

There is a busing schedule that was sent out. I deleted it so not sure of all the times. I know it's pretty much 7am-7pm Mon and Tues and until 2pm'ish on Wed.

HS is open to all CP's tonight after the park closes. I have no idea how late they're staying open but they are trying to get the kids on the new rides so I'm guessing it will go late.

ETA: If a DCP'er has a flight time outside of the busing hours, they will provide a voucher for a taxi.

Sorry I wasn't clear - she hasn't been given any info about after hours at DHS she is at MK now and wasn't aware of any additional hours at DHs.

I just looked and HS closes at 8:30 but they have EMH til 10:30 tonight. I'm not sure what time the CP's can go in. I'll text my dd and see if she knows.

That’s very nice of you - thanks so much !
She has no good answers. Said she heard they quit letting CPs in at 8:15 (local time) and she also heard that RotR was down a lot today so they aren’t letting CPs on. None of this makes sense based on why they were opening HS to the kids tonight. I’m sorry. Wish I had better info for you.

My DD, as am I, are so heartbroken over her having to leave Disney. She wanted to be a DCP for so many years. Having graduated in December, this was her last opportunity to be a DCP. She had so much fun in the 2 months she had there and made a lot of lasting memories. It sucks how abrupt Disney did it and we have had to scramble on getting her out and on the road back home to Illinois by Wednesday. It sucks for all the Spring 2020 DCPS - so sad.

DCPer is home. She said she feels "defeated". She doesn't want to be known as "those kids". She was laughing while saying it, but I get her meaning- she just wanted to finish out. She was off-site and there was really no information for her. She only found out things through the grapevine. That part was frustrating.

She knows how lucky she is- she goes to school in Orlando, didn't need this job financially, and got her hours for her internship. She feels for all the others. She is glad Disney finally decided to close the resorts!!! She worked in one and was getting frustrated that they were letting people check in after the 15th. If it wasn't "safe" to be in the park why was it "safe" to hang out by the pool! :rotfl:

Now what to do with her potentially being home until August......

Mine left WDW today. Staying in P'cola tonight, then 2 nights in TX with friend's family and then driving out here to CO. She should be home on Friday. I think she is still shell-shocked by what has happened and is holding on to the hope that WDW opens and they get to return.

I'm not sure what to do with my dd either lol. Can't start school and no one is hiring now (unless you want to stock groceries overnight and maybe she does...) but it's kind of a hard place to be left. Though I'm guessing a lot of kids will be in a similar spot.

And yes, made no sense to keep resorts open while closing the parks...
