Hello 😁

My fiancé and I are planning to get married in Disney World in October 2021.

We have decided to keep our guest list limited to immediate family and best friends (max 16 people). While our budget for wedding and honeymoon is actually quite large we are looking to provide our guests with the best bang for our buck over a multiple day experience and we want to funnel most of our budget to the honeymoon.

Our tentative plans include:

* Rent a large Airbnb for all our guests to stay in

* Bachelor/Bachelorette Party at Food & Wine Festival the first full day in Orlando. Enjoy drinking and eating around the world.

* Special rehearsal dinner experience that has a causal vibe. Considering Sanaa, Wild Trek Africa Safari, or Hoop Dee Doo Revue. Also open to ditching Disney this day and heading to one our favorite local restaurants (we lived in Orlando for a few years) and maybe going to Universal for Halloween Horror Nights.

*Day of wedding considering two options:
  1. Luau Pointe @ noon with earliest reservation we can get at ‘Ohana for “reception”. Want to get drinks before or after at Trader Sam’s. Followed by Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party - my plan is to change into a white sundress and everyone else is welcome to change but wedding attire will be causal. If we did this option I would get a room at the Polynesian for day before and of wedding. Could also do this for rehearsal night instead of wedding day minus luau pointe of course
  2. Sea Breeze Pointe with The Attic as our reception. Fireworks Dessert Party in Epcot (or maybe not? Since we will be doing fireworks at Epcot earlier 🤷🏻‍♀️)
Wondering what other Disbrides thoughts are of this schedule. Is it too much? Not enough? We would be paying for all the experiences (Park tickets and dinners) for our guests as well except food and drinks at Epcot.

Welcome! Either of those wedding-day options sounds great! And I wouldn't worry about already having seen the Epcot fireworks: A dessert party is a totally different experience that will wow your guests with VIP treatment. Plus, you can add a ride mix-in, so they'll have a chance to walk right on to something popular like Frozen or Ratatouille.

I wonder if the dates for Animal Kingdom After Hours are posted for October? If so, an option to consider might be so have dinner at Sanaa for your rehearsal dinner and then go over to Animal Kingdom for After Hours. They only do it on certain nights, but it is FUN! Your guests would then experience many of the headliners at AK with many less people in the park. We experienced it last summer and had a blast.

I'm partial to your second choice for the day of your wedding. We had our dinner at the Attic and our guests absolutely loved having that space to ourselves for the 4 hours. There was a long walk to the room, but we had an indoor space and a balcony. We were given a menu to choose items from, but they were very accommodating in working with us to create the perfect meal. We then walked over to Epcot for a dessert party and fireworks. Everyone said that they just loved it.

No matter what, it sounds as though your guests will have a great time. You've obviously put a lot of thought into planning a special day and they will be blown away. That I'm sure of!

This pretty much sounds like what we are doing in November
Day before wedding - Hoop De Doo
9am ceremony, straight to Magic Kingdom after
Dessert Party at Grand Floridian, and heading to Trader Sams to close down the night!
Hopefully we can attend a Christmas Party as a group too (there are 30 of us)

Do what you want to do to make your wedding spectacular!

we got married at Canada terrace two years ago. I believe in order to have a Disney wedding, you must pay for "x" number of nights at a Disney resort (I didn't do the planning). so thats the first thing youll want to check before moving forward with air bnb plans and such. you wont have as good a time with having only 30 day fast pass reservations as well. you are going to want to make it an early night too. we woke up at 4a to get married before the park opened, did animal kingdom with everybody till 5, and were in our room by 6p so we could have some time to relax and enjoy the fact that we were actually spouses. "closing down parks", "getting drinks here", "getting drinks there", etc isn't going to work if you want to have a memorable day where the last 4 hours weren't full of grumpy people who just, want, to go, to bed! also, one would assume youd want time with your new spouse (and not just what is insinuated by that. also, just sharing private moments and thoughts with your new spouse.) without others around like this isn't a hugely special day for just you two. the overarching thing is, don't skimp. if you want/need to skimp, don't do Disney. go there for your honeymoon without others if skimping is mandatory. you miss too much magic and gain much more frustration when you have to "budget" for Disney, so don't associate "missed magic" and "frustration gained" on your wedding day. would I rather go to Disney every other year budgeting, or every 6 years and do everything? every 6 years. have fun with whatever you decide!

What an amazing Wedding you have planned. We’re thinking same thing for our vow renewal. We want the quantity of friends and family and just make it more special for all and major memories. Yours sounds spectacular and memorable in every way. Keep us posted on all the excitement and make sure you soak in every memory from planning to afterwards. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

This sounds great - you mention that your plan is to head to MK straight from the ceremony? I had my weddding at Disney in 2013 when bridal attire was not allowed in the parks, I don't know if it's changed now? Just thought I'd mention in case you were looking to visit MK in a gown? It's ok at resorts but not the parks :-)

No, I have a disney dress that I am changing into for the parks 😊

I wanted a small wedding too. We had 20 people, close family and friends. I had gift bags for everyone in their rooms when they arrived. My Mom organized a party for the women at the Grand Floridian (we stayed at the GF). My MIL had a gathering at the Yachtsman. And we invited everyone to a luau at the Polynesian. Wedding day was at the wedding pavilion. I had all my guests picked up at the designated hotel with a bus. Husband and I had limo. At wedding reception we all sat at one table...together. I liked that. LOTS of food, we had a buffet. My husband wanted what he wanted. Prime rib, king crab legs, chicken franchaise, pasta station, vegetables, rice, soup and salad....and cake of course. I'm sure I'm forgetting some food. Chef had told us it was too much food but we didn't care. After reception went to Epcot for dessert party in Italy area. Bus took everyone. When we got there, we were taken in together as a group and walked at the end of the parade. It was so COOL! The crowd giving us congrats! Had dessert party with fireworks in Italy. Had pics taken their too. We also did a MK photo shoot. I got married in 2001. I'm sure many of the rules have changed but I wouldn't have changed a thing.

We’ve stayed at the Boardwalk or YC/BC many times and I always love seeing a wedding at Sea Breeze Point. My niece wanted to have the ceremony there were too many people on the guest list. The grooms parents are having a gathering the night before the wedding there instead. As it turns out since their memorial day wedding was rescheduled for labor day weekend a lot of people have canceled and she is almost down the the maximum amount allowed for that venue. Her boyfriend knew it was a special place so they did get engaged here last January. It’s so pretty499462
