I don't know if this has anything to do with the shut down and possible reopening but I am unable to get an ADR at Chef Arts Homecoming for anytime during a 10 day period at the end of July. Did they stop taking reservations or is just that hard to get one?
I tried for late August/ early September and could only get late night for the 2 days I wanted it

... not that hard to get an ADR. Probably suspended reservations. Try calling directly

Edit: just checked. I don’t know your exact dates but I see availability all throughout June July and August. For all times of the day....So my initial thought was wrong, but I see plenty of availability.

I just tried again and tried dates between the 15th-25th and got nothing. There is only 4 us so it's not a big group. I guess I will keep trying.

Im not defending his words used from yesterday and other press conferences, the issue was when NYC declared their stay at home and it was evident that the situation was very serious for them a lot of people booked flights to leave, a lot came to south Florida where they have family and friends. This is why he also issued the travel restrictions

I personally know someone who flew down to the Tampa area from Long Island because 'he was bored', to his second home here. Tested positive not too long after. So it definitely was happening. :(

This was the May calendar which I thought was interesting. I don’t know if it has always looked like that because I just started marking reservations so this could be old news. I tried several restaurants in May just to see and they all look like this

Don’t see if this has been talked about here but with this NBA finishing their season at WDW and using the resorts you have to think if this were to happen that would push back opening a while. The nba would take up a ton of rooms and I’m not sure they would want guests in at the same time as nba players.

Yeah , airlines were adding flights from NY to help with the demand.

I just posted this on the NBA thread, but overnight all availability at Coronado Springs has disappeared for the month of June. I have been looking at reservations almost every day because we have reservations June 13-29 and we've been talking about upgrading for part of our stay if the parks are open. It doesn't matter what dates in June I put in, and whether I'm looking at regular room prices or with discounted offers, nothing shows up. Could they potentially be blocking off those rooms, particularly in the towers, in preparation for this?

I know that Varisty has started booking for their rescheduled cheer competition which is around that same time. I know that is one of the hotels along with all three All Star resorts.

Is this a for sure thing? I thought the NBA were just rumors/speculation for now.

Besides, my bet is if the NBA is going to be there, they would probably be at the higher class hotels like Four seasons and Waldorf Astoria.

Yeah I think it's still just speculation as well. My comment was also just speculation because I thought the sudden lack of availability for the entire month was odd. Could be for numerous other reasons, but thought it was worth noting regardless.
Hmmm. This would make sense you could stick basically the entire nba and media at CS. There are 2300 rooms there. I saw rumors of pop and aoa for them but if they’re trying to reopen as well I can’t see them taking things off the skyliner route that just seems like a good thing to keep with social distancing. You could basically “hide” the entire nba over there besides being near DAK it’s kind of out of sight out of mind

Just thought I should post this.

I saw on Facebook this morning that someone posted a screencap of a document from The California Police Chiefs. There was a meeting yesterday between The California Police Chiefs Executive Committee, CHP Commissioner and representatives of the California State Parks. Govenor Newson will be announcing at Thursdays press conference that all beaches and state parks in California will be closed effective May 1.
Yup, closing the beaches down too in CA. Doesn’t bode well for an early Disneyland opening.

It is becoming pretty clear that World will open before Land. And probably open before Paris also.

This is a great sign of things opening up! Once these arrive, *they can be sold en masse at the parks... They're cute and cheap, so the impulse to purchase has few negative implications.. this might be all they need. If masks are the new fashion accessory then they don't need to be mandatory necessarily if everybody wants to wear them anyway. ❤

The chance of being hospitalized due to Covid is extremely low, but if it’s a financial risk you can’t take. I can understand that.
It certainly won’t stop me from traveling, but we all have different risk tolerance.

Key point in this is “financial risk”. Even being here in the States, I own my business. Thankfully I’m still doing somewhat well through all of this. I’m a jogger, I’m mostly healthy, early 40s, with no underlying conditions. I can not afford to catch this and be out of work for 2 to 3 weeks, I would lose all I have.
Over the past decade we have averaged 1.25 trips a year to Disney. We are as much Disney suckers as anyone else, but I can’t risk infection in what is a petri disk like WDW. I’m not sure you all of you understand the amount of hand sanitizer, masks, and soaps that would be needed to be constantly refilled. The staffing/logistics is almost impossible. They would need tanker trucks hand sanitizer coming daily, the industrial market is having trouble keeping up now. Now think of the “essential” businesses that need PPE.

Long ago we downgraded to staying offsite, no longer get the meal plan, and mostly only stay for about 6 nights and 4 park days. We have found ways to save money. But as cheap as we can get is is about 3.5k. I can’t sink that kind of money to wear a mask (super great while drinking and listening to live music at the Edison right?), having half open parks, ohh and then might get horribly sick or you know... die! 3.5k we can vacation in a luxury cabin in Colorado and eat steak every night for dinner!

Peoples, it’s living in Fantasy Land to be live going to Disney is a good idea right now.
