Most efficient way to get there?

So I'm pondering here. Everybody has a way of doing things and I'd like your opinion. We check into the Fort on Wed. Oct.14th. I have a reservation at Cape May Cafe for 6:30. My plan is to boat over to the Magic Kingdom and then grab a resort bus over to Beach Club.
Anybody have a more efficient way of getting there? We will not have our car, just the golf cart.
EDIT: Not interested in an Uber or Minnie van.
Thanks All!

Stratman50th,

I think the boat/MK/bus strategy is as good as any other alternative.

The other choices are a bus to a different park and a transfer there to another bus to BC. Or ditto a two-bus leg transferring at Disney Springs. The boat option, assuming the weather is pleasant, would be the most relaxing method IMO.

PS - on a recent trip I tried the bus line between the Fort and Disney Springs (normally I don't use a bus out the front of the Fort - I drive to the non-MK parks and DS). Catching the bus at the Fort was not a long wait. But leaving DS, I got up to the Fort bus stop just as a waiting bus was pulling away (missed it). And I stood there a WHOLE hour before the next bus left with me on it. And I said never again....

Boat to Contemporary, Monorail to TTC, then you can bus to anywhere. Of course you may have to leave the day before. :rotfl2:

DW and I would bus to EPCOT and then a nice leisurely walk to CMC then back to EPCOT to walk off the calories and bus back.

Thanks gang. I guess I should have mentioned no park tickets for the October trip. Just the Fort and some resort hopping. Plus meeting some DIS folks who might still be around that week.

This is what dh & I would do - we really enjoy that walking path. The alternative is if we decide to leave Epcot via International Gateway and walk the path there. We usually have APs. We walk way more than we'd have to there, but we thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere. It's the one vacation that we never tow a vehicle - leave the transportation up to Disney.

Based on these parameters, then I would use one of two options.

  1. Boat to MK and Bus to BC
  2. Bus to DHS and Boat to BC
If you have not used the boat that connects DHS to Epcot with stops at Swan/Dolphin, Beach/Yacht Club, and Boardwalk, it can be a nice evening ride. It would give you more options if you want to explore any of these resorts after dinner. You can also walk between if you prefer. I would say that you could go via MK and return via DHS, but then your golf cart would be at the opposite end of the campground from start and return.

I actually have used the boat from DHS to Epcot on several occasions and enjoyed it. Time wise is it as quick as the boat to MK then bus to BC? I'd give that equal consideration to my original plan and just park the cart at the main bus stop and return the same way.

I think the boat ride from DHS to Epcot is usually about 20-25 minutes total. From DHS to BC should be about 10-15 minutes. The boat would be DHS to Swan/Dolphin and then Beach Club. I think the boat from FW to MK is about 15 minutes.

I honestly tend to choose my routes at WDW once there based my time, weather, or feelings at the time. I just try to know at least 2-3 ways to get from place to place while at WDW.
