Hi all! This is our second trip on our Annual Passes. We were down for Christmas and New Years. We are Me(49), Cary (turned 46 on this trip), Tyler (turned 21 on this trip)and Skyler (15 at the time of the trip)...we are lovers of the Deluxe Dining Plan but with all the necessary reservations needed to have a good trip, we decided to go without it this time. We have been to The World many, many times since Tyler was 2. We come from Illinois and are planning to be Florida residents in about two years. Welcome to my next Dining Report!

Tyler had to work the night we left (December 19, 2019) so we picked him up at Game Stop with Little Caesars pizza for the ride. We had sandwiches and a lot of other food for the ride down and for the trip. We have been driving down the past few times so we bring a cooler with a ton of bottles of pop, since the soft drinks are super expensive in Disney. So we were set for the way down. Our first meal in Florida was at the DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando at Sea World where we stayed the first night. We really liked the hotel, by the way!

Alberto's Pizzeria

The counter service restaurant was Alberto's Pizzeria. We were not in the mood to go up and get dressed and to go sit in the full service restaurant so we ordered at Alberto's. While they waited for the food I went up to the room to get showered and changed.

By the time I was done showering they were back with food.

Skyler ordered Hot Wings...

She said they were really good and had a lot of meat on them. Tyler finished them for her. There were 10 or 12 in there...not sure. It was plenty for one person, and apparent;y that person's brother...LOL.

I ordered the Kale and Sausage Soup...

ADFCD126-7C2E-49A9-B38D-809A09AAD08A.jpeg

It was really good...a bit spicy but I like that. It was a large bowl and filled me up!

Cary and Tyler both got the Meatball Sub...

A3DC36EA-A7A4-46F3-B212-8C6706CF117D.jpeg

There were five medium sized meatballs in there and they both really enjoyed them. They were gooey with cheese and the bread was slightly crispy on the outside, like toasted, but soft inside. They were both happy with their choice.

Skyler also got a Vanilla Bean Frappucchino (that we don't have a picture of??? Slacking already!)...that she said was definitely NOT Starbucks but it was ok. And for dessert we all had our Double Tree Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies that we got at check in.

We checked out at 9:08pm...the total was $43.61 and we felt it was a good price for the good food we ate!

TOTAL = $43.61

Yay! A new report to follow! Going the last week of December with no plans? You're a brave, brave family! Lol.
We're going in December so I'm excited to see any Christmas treats you might have tried.

Oh, we had plans, just not a ton of ADRs...this was our third time over this time frame in the past four years so we felt like we knew what we were getting into. I honestly don't think it's as bad as everyone says it is...but we stay away from the Magic Kingdom on important days...there really isn't anything special going on there that isn't any other day mostly so we just go other places. The one year we did not go at Christmas, was a let down of a year...LOL

Market

We were walking past Market and saw something that looked awesome so we stopped!

We got a Snow Flurry Slush with a clip light up Olaf...

OK, so, it was really cool looking in the picture. There were three people working this stand and no line. They were not busy. We stood there in front of a register waiting to order. When she finally came over (and yes, they had all seen us standing there) she kind of was snippy. We ordered the orange one...there was a blue one too. She asked if we wanted whipped cream...um, duh! And the picture above was the finished product she handed over the counter. Yep, that is exactly what it looked like when she made it. And she did not ask us if it was ok with us to have a mound of whipped cream hanging over the edge that was about to crash to the ground any minute if we did not scarf it down immediately. She did not apologize for handing over a messy, not at all what it looked like in the picture treat. She shoved it in Skyler's hand and turned her back. WOW! And before she handed it to her Skyler had to remind her that we ordered and paid for a light up Olaf. Being the first interaction of our trip, I did not make a big deal of it...did not want to start it off on a bad foot but really!?!? Now, it tasted good even though we could not allow much of the whipped cream to melt into the slush so I guess that is really all that mattered but i expect more from Disney. We paid $11.50 for that ugly but tasty concoction. It was 11:31am.

TOTAL = $55.11

Oh I love the Olaf light up!! Looks like she used about $5.00 worth of whipped cream though. Not all bad though. I think this is going to be another
tasty report...everything so far looks delish.

Docking Bat 7 Food & Cargo

We were getting hungry and there was no line at Docking Bay 7 so we headed in there. The set up is really fun and it has a lot of seating in and out doors. We all placed our orders and Skye and I headed to find a seat. We found a table just outside the doors to the side. It was nice weather for eating outside so we texted the boys where we were.

We decided to order three things and share them so we could sample. The first thing was the
Batuuan Beef Pot Roast - Braised Beef Pot Roast, Cavatelli Pasta, Wilted Kale, Mushrooms...

64670354-7F26-4AF9-A4B0-76A5AB197ED1.jpeg

We also ordered the Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs - Sticky Pork Ribs, Blueberry Corn Muffin, Cabbage Slaw.

B9DB9AA4-A4A1-44E8-8F9E-6AF7D5E4286B.jpeg

And the third was the Endorian Fried Chicken Tip Yip - Crispy Chicken with choice of Vegetable Mashed Potatoes with Herb Gravy or Macaroni and Cheese and Roasted Vegetables.

C476F31E-E186-45AF-BC18-CFBBAB20027B.jpeg

They
were all super good...and there were at least pieces of all of them that we all liked! Cary and Ty both loved the ribs. Skye loved the chicken and mac & cheese...I think people might have been fighting over the mac & cheese...LOL. I really liked the pot roast with the pasta mixture under it.

We also ordered dessert... the
Oi-Oi Puff - Raspberry Crème Puff and Passion Fruit Mousse.

DC0CA409-166A-4105-BE7A-E114089CC49F.jpeg

This was also really good and enjoyed by all...we might have licked the plate...no we didn't!

It was nice to eat off of real plates with real utensils. There were cast members walking around offering to take dishes and such that you were done with. All in all we really liked this place and think its a great addition to the park. We had brought pop and water with us in the backpack so we did not have to buy drinks. Our total was $61.73 so it was on the more expensive side but it was really good and we were full with just the three meals and a dessert. it was 12:01pm when we paid. We took our time eating and we did not feel like people were stalking our table at all. We will definitely return.

TOTAL = $116.84

Kat Sakas Kettle

While in the market place area Tyler needed popcorn...so we stopped at Kat Sakas Kettle and he for the outpost mix in an MS6. It was a sweet and spicy mix...red was spicy and purple was sweet.

E3210333-1D6C-47DA-9CEE-8AF85D175C18.jpeg

UMMMM...the spicy was gross...hot and gross! I think we eventually picked out all the sweet one and the spicy went in the garbage...yuck! Not one of us liked it. It wasn't even that is was too hot...it was just a bad
flavor. But the bucket was super cute! It was $21.29!

TOTAL = $138.13

This looks awesome! Some place I want to actually try at DHS! Lol I’ve never found any food there appealing.

I love Endorian Tip Yip! I always get it with mashed potatoes because I love the gravy.
I'm really enjoying your report. I'm just missing Disney...😪

Yeah!!!! Thanks for starting this. I need much more Disney food in my life.

Glad to see you all enjoyed Docking Bay 7. Definitely one of our favorite quick services now. If only all Disney QS could be so good.

Curious to see how the rest of the trip goes over the holidays and see what crowds and dining options are like. I've contemplated a Christmas or New Years trip but haven't been brave enough to try it yet.

PizzeRizzo

When we arrived at PizzeRizzo...

D5C4F855-18D3-4CB0-B25B-4C1BEAD135CE.jpeg

... all gave our orders and then Skye and I went to find a place to sit. Since it was raining, there were quite a bit of people in there just sitting. Not eating. But there are a lot of tables in there and we found one near the back stairs.

We decided on sharing three meals...and brought our own drinks with us. We got the Pepperoni Pizza - Pepperoni Pizza served with a small Caesar Salad.

The Meat Lover's Pizza - Meat Lover's Pizza topped with Sausage and Pepperoni served with a small Caesar Salad...

13CC9E1B-76E2-4E46-87FB-91C1CA207AAC.jpeg

And a Vegetable Pizza - Vegetable Pizza topped with Mushrooms, Peppers, Onions and Tomatoes served with a small Caesar Salad...

F62BCBA5-945B-42FA-901C-779A005215EA.jpeg

And it was all pretty good and plenty of food for the four of us. I did wish the toppings were more spread out to the ends (they all seemed to just have been dropped in the middle) but there was a lot of them so we were able spread them out before eating them. Tyler doesn't do salad so the other three of us got those and they were small but fresh and ell dressed. Cary and I mostly split the veggie one since the kids wouldn't eat that! And it was really good. The sausage on the meat lovers was really good (sometimes Italian sausage just does not work with the pizza the right way). Skye has a two pieces of the pepperoni one (how can you meaa up pepperoni pizza? You can't!), Tyler had three of the meat lovers and one of the pepperoni, and Cary had two of the veggie, one meat lovers and one pepperoni. We all enjoyed our meal and were glad to finally get to eat here. It was neat when it had actual games in it under the Pizza Planet reign but Rizzo's is fun too!

We took our time eating and hoping it would stop raining while we were in there. We cashed out at 6:42pm and our total was $34.05.

TOTAL = $172.18

Min & Bill's Dockside Diner

We were able to find a seat at Min & Bill's Dockside Diner to watch the show.

We also grabbed some food. We were able to grab a table with an umbrella over it since is was still misting on and off. We were kind of just snacking so we ordered a Kid's Macaroni and Cheese - served with a Cuties® Mandarin, Apple Slices and choice of Small Lowfat Milk or Small DASANI® Water

B8DDD813-CC45-4F79-94F9-6A0A2217D45C.jpeg

And a Chili-Cheese All-Beef Foot-Long Hot Dog - served with Chips and a plain foot long hotdog.

8A7850C7-B593-4EC7-AAE2-DCC3DD6BAFD2.jpeg

Cary and I split the chili cheese dog, and Skyler and Tyler split the regular hot dog and the mac and cheese. We all kinda picked at the apples and orange. It was all good park good and it filled the munchies we had.

World Premiere Food Court

We hit World Premiere Food Court after voting. We planned to get two refillable cups. We were expecting to see the cool Christmas ones this year but look what else we found...

They are both so fun! The Star Wars one was $10 more than a regular refillable mug but we use it all the time at home so we were ok with it. It was 11:09pm when we checked out and we paid $53.73.

TOTAL = $256.77

Gaston's Tavern

It was very uncrowded, as expected, line-wise but there is very little seating here and it was crowded over there! We actually were flagged down by a family leaving to take their table. We ordered one LeFou's Brew - Frozen Apple Juice with a hint of Toasted Marshmallow and topped with All-Natural Passion Fruit-Mango Foam...

Tyler is always offended when we say we can share one cinnamon roll but it really is enough! They are the best ones in Disney though...those little skinny ones the went to everywhere else have nothing on this one!

:
We checked out here at 8:52am and spent $12.55...seems a lot for one roll and a drink but it is a huge roll and it is oh so good!

TOTAL = $269.32

Sleepy Hallow

We wandered over to Sleepy Hollow, someplace we have never, in all our trips, eaten anything from! There is usually such a long line but the kids had heard of the waffle goodies so this was on their must try list for this trip...so we did!

There was a small line that did not seem very organized but we were able to order and then they were able to find a table over in the seating area.

B8D2D777-4D8A-439F-BCD4-8F0FA3F3F0DA.jpeg

Skyler, of course, ordered the Mickey Waffle served with Strawberries and Whipped Cream.

2A599399-041F-4F64-973F-6E2A6BC7ECF1.jpeg

And it was everything she expected it to be! We shared it and it was enough to satisfy us...and it was very good and fresh.

Tyler ordered the Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich - served with House-made Chips.

EA153F80-6DAC-4794-9E8A-C7C56AEE3306.jpeg

He does not eat anything extra on his food so this was perfect...but I was worried about the "sweet and spicy" part...because he is still picky in a very odd way. But he loved it! He has been on a chicken and waffle kick lately so it was right up his alley! He shared, reluctantly, with Cary and I got a bite and it was really good! He wanted to get another one but I reminded him that we did not need to over eat at every stop becasue there was a lot of places to stop!

Cary got a French Vanilla Iced Coffee - Featuring Freshly Brewed Joffery's Coffee™. He said it was good.

Our total was $21.92 and we will be back for sure!

TOTAL = $291.24

The Diamond Horseshoe

We has a 1pm ADR at The Diamond Horseshoe for lunch so we headed that way. We arrived a bit before 1pm and they were just opening and told us to come check in five minutes prior to our ADR time...even though the host was out on the stairs with his tablet. So we sat near and people watched. We had never been here before, not even inside...so we had no expectations. There are not a lot of reviews about it either so again, no expectations. We went back to check in at 12:55pm and were taken right in. It is really pretty inside.

277D5F5F-0254-493C-A1AD-3DCD9948984D.jpeg

We were lead all the way over to the left and up a couple of stairs to a table all by itself right up next to the stage...where nothing happens anymore bit it was still an awesome table!

Our waiter, Roy M., brought us all ice clod water and left menus. Skye just kept her water but the guys got Cokes and I got a Sprite to drink. Since we were never here before we decided to get two Chuck Wagon Platters to share. We got the Barbecued Pulled Pork - Spice-rubbed Pork served with Jalapeño-Cheddar Cornbread and your choice of two (2) Fixin's which were mashed potatoes and mac & cheese.

1158F992-B01F-48DD-AD1D-26733AFEB234.jpeg

And the Grilled Chicken - Citrus-marinated Chicken served with Jalapeño-Cheddar Cornbread and your choice of two (2) Fixin's which were a Mixed Green Salad - Cucumber, Tomato, Red Onion, and Creamy Chipotle Dressing and mac & cheese.

F44957DC-4AE9-4DF4-87B4-D81815594C2E.jpeg

So I was worried that the kids would see Citrus in the chicken description and decline it right there. Well, we all loved it all! The corn bread was sweet and moist, the mashed potatoes were great with the peels included. The mac & cheese was really good and fought over. And the salad was big enough for Skye and I to share. Cary and I really liked the Pork, Ty had a bit too. It had great flavor even without the sauce. And the kids loved the chicken! the citrus is very mild and if they had not read that that was what it was they probably would not have know. There was plenty of everything to go around. After eating Skyler needed a Layered Cherry Cheesecake - Cherry Compote layered with Whipped Cheesecake...and she was not willing to allow anyone else much of it! I have to say, it was REALLY good...what she allowed me to have!

All in all, we were really impressed! Everyone was asking me why we didn't to the all you care to eat platter...well, I did not know what to expect...but they were planning on going back on the next trip and doing that...but now we need to wait to see if it will even exist on the next trip!

We though the service was friendly and helpful, quick but not intrusive. We had refills and everything we needed when we needed it. I have no doubt we will be back in the future...this was a very pleasant surprise! We were only there about 45 minutes in all and out total was $66.96.
