How are Disney going to charge $500 to $1000 a night

Aren't some of those open for non DVC?

No. Those are all DVC.

Personally the lack of feature pools is more disappointing to me than lack of housekeeping.

All feature pools will be opened with "reduced hours". Only Storm Along Bay will closed at opening. My guess is this is because only BCV will be open and not YC or BC. And the BCV is a pretty small DVC.

But yes, it is true. Resort guests with valid tickets will have priority for park reservations.

Has this been in the information that Disney has released already? I hadn’t seen anything that indicated how the park reservations would work, but as we are staying on site, I am hopeful this is true.

Yes this is the exact quote from Disney.

Guests with existing Resort reservations will have priority access to the new park reservation system when it becomes available.

But, isn’t this followed by they don’t guarantee being able to visit the parks even if you do have a resort reservation? I suppose I’m asking the question too early, since we don’t really know what the reservation system is going to look like.

I take that to mean
1) resort guests get first priority to making a reservation
BUT
2) resort guests can’t log in last minute and be guaranteed a reservation.
3) nor can resort guests be guaranteed a reservation for the park of their choice on the day of their choice (but I would guess Disney has already determined that all the individuals with existing reservations number less than the planned, initial, four-psrk total capacity).

No. Those are all DVC.

While they are DVC resorts, they have always been available to people who do not have DVC though, which is what I meant. Sorry for the misunderstanding. So what I'm trying to say is that Disney is opening up, but only for those people with lots and lots of money.

Yes, it’s confirmed, BUT...there is no guarantee that it exclusive access. It took me a while to actually figure it out and while the original announcement made it seem as though resort guests would have first access, the latest news only says those with valid tickets and APs have first dibs. First access may end up being ticket based, not resort.

Hopefully they’ll clarify, otherwise there really is no advantage to on site after all.

The problem is, now they’re saying valid ticket holders and AP’s also have priority access.

It isn’t possible to book an on-site reservation today. So the only option is offsite, but we don’t know if or how many will get access to a park if not onsite.
Hi! Disney is still allowing rooms to be booked by DVC members, and I read somewhere else that annual passes are being sold, but they aren’t allowing any single day Park ticket/tickets to be sold right now. And we don’t know how many park reservations we will be allowed to have at one time. They just say “limited”.

I think it read "AP holders(group1) and those who have both a resort reservations AND a confirmed ticket(group 2)".
No they never listed AP holders as a first dib group. All they’ve ever said is those with resort reservations with valid tickets will have priority access to reservations. They never said it was exclusive. Yesterday’s release of information only said those with valid tickets would have priority access over new tickets sold. To be clear, I include AP’s when I’m talking about valid tickets. At any rate, it is not clear exactly how groups will be given access other than we know both groups will have some kind of priority over new tickets.

I think priority will become exclusivity earlier on due to the shear number of people who will rush to sign up. In other words, if you aren't in that priority batch, again in the first few weeks, you probably aren't getting in.

I’m going with reservation and ticket will get first access, whether it be a cash reservation and ticket or an annual pass, or a DVC reservation and a ticket of some sort. What I’m saying is I believe that if you are on property with a room and hold a valid ticket of some sort, you get first access, you should, you spent the most money to be there. but if you have the entire package, you should get first dibs. I know there are annual pass holders that won’t be in a room on property but I did read Somewhere that they would be allowed to make park reservations, just not several days together! That was one of the things that lead me to believe if you have both ticket and room you will be among the first. Also, these are just things I have read so don’t crucify me for my opinion, because not everything you read is the truth!!!

and not doing maid service, Room service or have coffee pots ?. How are going to give you that first class experience. At worst service then Motel 6

I understand there’s a virus. But part of being on vacation, for me is. No cleaning, no cooking , being take of care of. My magical week !!!

...then you should probably postpone your magical week...

Anyone who's going in the next few months needs to be ok with limited magic.

Lots of people are frustrated, but it's a pandemic. The situation continues to evolve. What worked in one part of the country last week does not mean you can apply it to another part of the country this week.

Disney is not tacking on an extra "coronavirus protection and sanitizing fee" to account for all the extra expenses that they are incurring.

I agree. I think Disney just wants to make it clear that a resort reservation in and of itself does not guarantee park entry without a park reservation as well. Based on how many people I know who book on-site trips to WDW well within the ADR/FP+ windows and show up to WDW with not a single ADR/FP, there are almost certainly going to be some guests that show up with a resort reservation and no park reservations. This way Disney has something to point to when people complain that they can't get into the parks. We aren't talking about something as limited as a dinner reservation at a reasonable time at Ohana (which maybe would accommodate 300-500 people per day?) or FP+ for a popular ride when the parks are busy, we are still talking thousands of spots at each of the four parks when none of the resorts are full and some of them are fully closed or being used by the NBA/MLS. Disney just doesn't want to guarantee park admission to resort guests because (a) it isn't true since you still have to obtain a separate park reservation and (b) they know people will disregard the park reservations and get cranky when they show up.

I imagine that most resort guests shouldn't have too many problems making park reservations so long as they take advantage of their priority window (Disney can control how many people are included in the priority window and I highly doubt that the number they set would be higher than capacity at all four parks, even if it includes all confirmed resort guests since many people are cancelling their trips and not all resorts are going to be open to the public/open at all). I could see MK being harder to reserve than the other parks, but even then it won't be like FOP/SDD FP+ which disappear within minutes of your window opening, probably more like the first to run out towards the end of the priority window or early in the general park reservation window.
