Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

At Walt Disney World they are not. There was something published at some point that led people to believe this would be different at WDW vs DLR.
Correct. Many people are posting on the WDW boards that there is only one time slot to choose, not the staggered time slots that we thought would be offered.
And the glitches and nightmare scenarios are giving me flashbacks about D23 Expo reservation trauma!

People are posting that having an on site reservation is not helping if they also have APs. The computer system is prioritizing their AP status over their on site status, so they can only reserve 3 days (the max for APs), even if they have up to 8 days (the max allowed for park reservations) on site. Sigh...

Yes can confirm. I have two onsite stays for Sept and November and a Premier AP. Only let me make 3 days of park reservations right now, after sitting on the spinning castle of death screen for over an hour. Once it let me log in had to wait 15 minutes on the space mountain screen to get to the park reservation screen.

There is only one time slot for the reservation and you can arrive anytime during that slot.

Thank you for confirming this glitch. Is there any way for you to call or do a live chat to get this cleared up?

This is what I’m worried about for Disneyland. We have a two night stay at the GCH, but we are also AP holders. In my opinion, we should be given resort guest status. Seriously hope Disneyland does better...... 🤪

Apologies if this has already been asked or clarified. "Resort status" for the WDW system--this means you have an onsite resort reservation AND tickets already purchased, yes? A resort reservation alone does not allow you to access the system--is this correct?

Correct. Either you have tickets already purchased or an annual pass to go along with your on site reservation. And the tickets/AP must be linked to your reservation.

Not sure if I missed this but for the wdw reservation system. Is there’s a rolling block of dates that it lets you make a reservation for or is any time in the future available?

No rolling dates, it's wide open if you have a resort reservation and valid park tickets linked to your stay though September 26th of 2021.

I think you can make reservations for any dates for which you hold on site reservations. So people were making park reservations for the end of December and for next February.

Does anyone think the DL reservation system will be via the app, since it's already programmed to do that for Flex passes?

This!
This morning was horrendous even by Disney’s low IT bar. I was up at 3:55 to make our reservations for Feb and April 2021. Kept trying in between small bursts of sleep until it finally opened. The canary thread was hugely helpful. Kept getting white screen of death until I finally dragged myself out of bed to use the computer that had firefox. Like west coasters, mac’s don’t get a lot of love from Disney. We are AP holders, but I fortunately had 5-day tickets in my account that let me split days between the stays. Our APs expire before. The whole system is ridiculous. Why they didn’t spread reservations out I have no clue. People with resort stays shouldn’t have been required to have tickets at this point, AP holders with passes that expire between now and stays that aren’t yet eligible for renewal are screwed. Very frustrating and disappointing

How can you tell if your AP is linked to your on site hotel reservation? Do I have to call and register my friend's GAT ticket to our reservation? Do we have to reserve separately for park days?

Edited to add another question since reading CaliforniaGirl09's post: My pass expires Oct 10. I have a reservation with my sister for Dec. My extended pass will cover that time, but if it's not showing up yet as extended that means I can't reserve until it does? And I have to buy my sister's ticket now if we want to reserve days in Dec?

Does anyone know how to link a Grand Californian reservation in the system? We have GC booked for January 2021; and will need to purchase tickets and make park reservations whenever that is possible. I'm assuming having an onsite hotel reservation would help. This is a DVC reservation, and the reservation number is much longer than the 8 digits allowed on the Disneyland website where I would normally link the reservation.
