Resort Change by Disney

On now. The CM said there is a work around and they are able to make changes today and not have to go through GS. Called at 7.


That would be amazing. 85 minutes waiting for someone at this point. The recording when I called said it would be a 2 1/2 hour wait. Was hoping they lied about that.
 
I think Disney's IT accomplished what they were tasked with. Create a system that has just enough bugs to make people call to an already overburdened phone system. They've created a perfect storm. I am this close to canceling, which is what they want. I wonder how they handle the $40 gift card they sent me. Add that when I cancel that trip?
I wasn't sure which resort stay mine was for. Well, it must have been for DH's reservation (but they sent to me?) because when I tried to add it to the other existing cards I had, it gave an error message, so it must have canceled right with my split stay cancel. I was going to try again later today but I'm sure it'll be the same result. They only sent a gift card for one not both resorts. No rhyme or reason, lol
 
70 minutes into the hold and got to talk to a cast member, now onto part 2...Guest Services.
Woohoo...at least you got a human...makes me feel better. I do wonder how calls are organized/answered....seems some get through much faster than others....this is so insane. I seriously question my sanity with Disney. There is no way I'd deal with anything remotely like this for anything else in my life...

Well, frankly that's some serious bs, because people calling in now are getting at least some choices, but we just get moved to whatever? So, those of us in November just get whatever's left?

Where are you booked?

I'm also booked for November, but at ASMo. Basically any reservation other than a campsite is an upgrade, at least in terms of room price. I'll be okay no matter where they put me, though I honestly think DD5 would prefer ASMo's theming to anywhere else on property (except maybe AKL because live animals).

Still, I'd like to KNOW, so I can start getting excited for that resort. I can only imagine what the July and August folks are feeling right now. I realize that which Disney vacation hotel we'll be in is definitely a first world problem, but it is irritating to save up and plan, and then have Disney keep us in limbo.
 
We are finally taken care of this morning as well. My TA was on the phone yesterday from 7am until they closed last night. Probably 15-16 hours. Multiple disconnections! She called again first thing this morning. We were booked 7/11-7/18 at CBR. We are moved to the FW Cabins at no charge. Hopper refunded off our tickets. We are pleased. I was willing to go anywhere as long as we didn’t have to pay more. We also got all our park passes yesterday no issues. I guess we are ready! It hasn’t all sunk in yet that this trip may actually happen now!
 
I called first thing this morning at 0600 central. Got through at 0605, said greater than 25 minute wait. I had to leave to go to work, left my husband with the phone. It's now 0735 and he still hasn't spoke to anyone. I left him with a cheat sheet of what to say (and not say!), as I have done EVERYTHING for this vacation so far. I'm hoping they pick up soon.
 
Hi everyone! Quick question— just got through to the phone lines. Spoke with a castmemember in wholesale (?) since i booked through Undercover Tourist.
The CM said they are moving people in stages and mine will be moved automatically over the next few days... he said it was different for me since I booked through a third party... this is the first time I’ve heard of this... should I call back 😂
Yes that sounds right. Another poster with a UT reservation got as far as wholesale yesterday. You can call UT and see if you can get them going on their end. Are your dates sooner or later? I have a UT reservation late in the year but I'd like to know what is happening with it.
 
FINALLY got through the busy signal after trying for 1.5 hours (after the first convo which seems wrong). Hopefully someone can help me and I can get this resolved today... will post more updates for UT.

When I got through the first time, I used my reservation # and it put me through to wholesale. I didn't give them my reservation # this time, hopefully I'll get someone who can just modify my reservation now!

My reservation is for 7/16... I am very patient but at this point I need to know where we are staying. UT said this morning that disney needs to make the change. My fear is that they'll cancel us if we haven't been confirmed or modified.

I think I got lucky this morning. It took me until about 7:40 to get through on the phone, but I only have to wait about 55 minutes for a CM. It sounds like they've made it so they can now make the changes without switching. However, I'm this CMs first guest of the day and he was having trouble with it. I'm being put through to GS, and was told it was only going to be a 10 minute wait.
 
Since I was only able to speak to Guest Services for about 10 second before being disconnected, just want to make sure. I should only say that I don't want to modify, but my hotel is closed? Anything else to not say? I guess I skipped a few pages yesterday and can't find it.

Yes you did! I connected at 7:03 (Disney time) and have yet to speak with anyone. Currently at 1:40

Just say that your resort is closed and you don't want to modify your dates. They should work with you when it comes to that.

AKL. I specifically chose a one building, interior hallway resort because I don't want to be pushing my son in his chair across a huge property, especially in bad weather.
 
So I just got the phone with UT. They said the same thing.
I'm calling Disney to plead for a change. It's not right that some folks are getting changed and we have to wait. UT said they were doing mid July and they probably wouldn't get to me until September!!
Resort matters for me because I have a child that has a wheelchair and the hugely spread out resorts are really not ideal when pushing a chair.
agreed. I'm on hold with Disney now. How we book shouldn't really matter-- we have rooms and we need to be moved :(

My tickets worked out just fine, got all my parks reserved (yay!) so I'm not sure what the difference is with resorts.
 
For those who were moved to a resort that cost more at no additional charge, when did you typically see that balance go down in MDE?
I checked my charges section on my App maybe 1/2 after making the change. The per night charges were similar to my previous nightly charges and the balance was what I had originally paid.
 
I have been trying to get through for a while now like most of you. I have a question. Would I be able to change my son and his wifes reservation as well as mine? We are traveling together, I have their reservation number. We're linked with tickets but I don't see their hotel although it's ASMo like ours. Rather than have them go through this (they live in California) it would be easier for me to do it if and when I get through. Thanks!
