Try calling Guest Services directly 407-939-7866Ugh. 2 1/2 hours on hold. Spoke to someone who said he had to transfer me internally. He hung up on me, not transferred me.
Oh my, I love you!!!!! After 2 hours on hold and being disconnected I tried that number and it was for guest services, who picked up immediately. They said they could move me from Music to Pop. Waiting on hold while they do that.
I basically told him I wasn't happy with the room I was given since I felt like it wasn't an equal accommodation and he said "Well, not everyone will be happy with what they're given. If you aren't, then don't come. There's no penalty to cancel! We'll be here next year!" I just asked to be transferred to GS and now I'm on hold for an about 30-minute wait.
same! but just keep trying. took me about 8 tries to actually get connectedWell I guess everyone is using the 7866 number because I get the busy signal.
So my sis, who is a TA, said that she was told that if no action was taken by a guest with an existing reservation (i.e. they don't call to change their resy), that they will be automatically moved to an upgraded room, no charge/price increase. I'm sure that you get whatever room at whatever resort they choose to give you, and by waiting you may run into availability issues, but still. Anyone else heard this? (If this has already been mentioned, I apologize, lot of pages in this thread ha).

I'm going mid-August. I was told yesterday that the Contemporary would be fully open but I would have to pay to be moved to there. But now I'm on hold with GS to sort this mess out. What are your dates? If you are going prior to some of the deluxes opening, they may not have a king bed with a view room available for you. July inventory is getting very, very tight. I think it may become a matter of either taking what is offered or modifying your dates.
Best of luck to you guys today who have to call - the folks getting a nice upgrade are certainly earning every minute of their vacation with this craziness!

I think that they ran out of DVC rooms in July through the middle of August because those were the only open resorts for them to move people to. As it gets to end of August, they might get more DVC rooms from breakage, and can move Deluxe resort guests to them? Perhaps people will have more luck at the 60 days prior to the last day of their stay.
I'm at 1.5 hours and no humans. Starting to get worried. Lol.
Thanks so much!! This number saved so much time and agony today!! Busy signal for awhile, but then got through and didn't have to wait long.407-939-7866 Best of luck!!

If anyone has had experience with Disney initiating a resort change, I would appreciate your thoughts. Yesterday it was mentioned that some of the resorts would not open. If my resort was not going to open, is it possible that Disney would just move me to another resort of their choosing, or do you think I would have some kind of choice?
