**Official DLR August Check In Thread 2.0**

Wow! Lots of August cancellations. I currently have flights booked for a late August trip to LA to visit a friend who moved there in December and we are hoping to drive down to Anaheim and do Disneyland for two days. I don't have park tickets, though, because I planned this trip in early March before the pandemic became what it is today. I'm hoping that I can either buy them from Disney or a reseller or someone who had two day tickets and is no longer going. I won't be staying on site though. This is all so strange to navigate! I have no idea how to plan. I last went to DL in 2015 and I bought my ticket for the day that week. There is still a good chance I move my trip to December and/or do a shorter trip and cut Disney out of it.

.... I'm hoping that I can either buy them from Disney or a reseller or someone who had two day tickets and is no longer going...
Please keep in mind that Disney park tickets state clearly that they are not for resale. So your best options are buying the tickets directly from Disney or from an authorized discount vendor (there are several that are favorites on this board: Undercover Tourist, GetAwayToday, aRes Travel, etc. -- just ask if you have any questions.) To avoid being ripped off, stay away from unauthorized vendors, eBay, craigslist, etc.

That's good to know! I wasn't aware. I thought that ticket transfers were allowable. I hope that tickets do go back on sale as that will have a pretty good impact on when my trip happens.

Disney tickets state that they are non-refundable, non-transferable, and not for resale. I know that WDW said they plan to start selling 2020 tickets again later this summer, so hopefully DLR will also start selling tickets again sometime sooner than later. Keep watching the DLR Reopening Superthread on this board for the latest official updates. The first page gets updated whenever Disney makes announcements so cruising page one is an easy way to keep up to date.

Perfect! Thanks for the info! I'll watch that thread and sign up for alerts!

Unfortunately we have cancelled our August trip; ongoing quarantine and overall uncertainty of what the reservation system will look like as well as the risks associated with travel during these challenging times means we will be indefinitely postponing our trip. Fingers crossed we can look forward to August 2021.

From the Speculation thread on the DL Community Board -- for those who had GCH or PPH reservations before 8/01/20 (HT: @Elsaspiritanimal):

Dear Guest,
We are sorry to inform you that your upcoming visit with us will be impacted by several closures. We recognize that the COVID-19 situation is constantly evolving, and there are many factors that are helping us determine the timing of when various aspects of our business will reopen in a responsible way.

Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park remain closed and will reopen at a later date, pending state and local government approvals. The Hotels of the Disneyland Resort are also closed and will reopen at a later date. Given this unprecedented situation, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate through this process as responsibly as we can.

Unfortunately, this means we are unable to accommodate your upcoming hotel room reservation. If you have already modified or cancelled your upcoming Disneyland Resort hotel room reservation or Walt Disney Travel Company vacation package, no further action needs to be taken. If you’re interested in modifying your existing travel dates, reservations are currently available for travel dates August 1, 2020 and later.

To provide additional flexibility, we are waiving Disney-imposed change and cancellation fees up to the date of check-in for reservations with arrivals through July 31, 2020. If you are unable to reach us before your check-in date for such time period, you will not be penalized or assessed Disney-imposed fees for cancelling your Disneyland Resort hotel room reservation or Walt Disney Travel Company vacation package after your check-in date.

Note that some package components are nonrefundable and subject to third-party operator cancellation policies. You should work directly with any third-party operators you have used to book any parts of your vacation package that were not booked through the Walt Disney Travel Company, including flights, travel protection and car rentals.

To cancel or modify your reservation, please contact the Walt Disney Travel Company at (714) 520-5050 between the hours of 7:00 AM PST and 9:00 PM PST, 7 days a week. If you are a Canada resident, please call (800) 496-6337.

If you originally booked through a Travel Professional, please reach out to them directly if you have questions or would like to reschedule.

We do anticipate heavy call volume and appreciate your patience as we work hard to respond to all inquiries.

Sincerely,
Disney Destinations, LLC

Hm. We are booked ON 8/1, but it would take a miracle in the case reduction department for us to go. I’ve held on to the room in case there was some sort of guest recovery offered if/when we get cancelled, but it looks like we’ve moved beyond the guest recovery stage of cancellations. Bummer.

Well I just bit the bullet and rebooked to November. The number of cases and the general unease of travel right now was our deciding factors. I was able to keep our upgraded room at the GCH so that was a nice consolation. I'll try to work on the list today and get it all updated for the other cancelations.

It's a total bummer, and I hope some of you still get to make it in August.

I am still holding on to our August 2nd - 8th reservation at GCH. Really hate to cancel again as flights have gone way up here. Just hope I don't get that dreaded email soon!!

We’re still booked for the Aug 8-12th dates through Davids DVC rentals. Feeling like we’re not going to have any option other than to need to figure out how to rebook through them — assuming we can. Sigh....

We just canceled our Aug 6th - 9th trip. So much mixed emotions ...... definitely looking forward to rescheduling our next trip. See ya' real soon Mickey

Wishing you the best trip ever! I am hoping by the fall/winter months, DLR will be able to have things going at a new "normal".

have checked the DL reservations and see no availability until August 16th. Have not seen an official announcement of any kind but this must be a clue of things to come
