Crazy things you've heard people say about Covid-19

Depends which government official you are talking about. If you are talking about a government official whose previous job before directing COVID response was a labradoodle breeder than yes I would agree with you. If you are talking about a government official who graduated 1st in his class receiving a Doctorate of Medicine all the way back in 1966 and has studied in the field over the last 54 years I would disagree with you.

People who claim they got COVID from wearing a mask.

Large gatherings of protesters don't contribute to the uptick in COVID cases, it's the people going out to eat that are causing it.

The craziest thing I’ve heard is that you are only susceptible to covid if you are scared of it because the virus is attracted to fear. If you’re not scared of it, you won’t catch it.

I personally enjoy the people who post all about how this is just some sort of plan to chip people with a vaccine, or track people for contact tracing purposes...... using their Facebook account filled with personal info and tons of detail of their lives (including locations) they’ve voluntarily shared.

It's crazy how often people have been saying something so ridiculous. Even my kids are rational enough to figure out it makes no sense. I have heard them tell people multiple times, "Why would the government put a tracking device into a vaccine when we all already carry around a GPS tracking device that also has a camera and microphone? They could get way more information just by tracking people's phones and it would be cheaper."

Wearing masks cause lung and brain damage.

This one is also super prevalent. Some medical professionals have worn a mask 8-12 hours every day for decades. Yet, people think they're going to die of carbon monoxide poisoning from wearing a mask to the grocery store for 30 minutes. (And, about half the people I see don't even have the mask covering their nose anyway)

Tracking with vaccines is such a dated conspiracy theory. Apple and google could probably tell the government anything they cared to know about me, more than I even know about myself . Add in my social media activity and sticking a chip in me would just be a waste of resources.

"Well, after all, we ARE in the End Times, so it'll all be over soon. I'm looking forward to it." In the meantime, since COVID-19 began in earnest here earlier this year 5 months ago, she's spent about $80,000 on upgrades to her backyard...spending money like the world is coming to an end. She's a super nice lady...and definitely an interesting one, too. She's asked before how can my husband allow me to go on walks in the evening by myself. And has asked me how come she doesn't see my kids playing out in the middle of the street.

Just saw this one today.

"A caller to a radio talk show recently shared that his wife was hospitalized and told she had COVID and only a couple of days left to live. A doctor friend suggested she be tested for legionnaires disease because she wore the same mask every day all day long. Turns out it WAS legionnaires disease from the moisture and bacteria in her mask. She was given antibiotics and within two days was better. WHAT IF these "spikes" in COVID are really something else due to improper mask wearing??"

Just take a look at Herman Cains' Twitter, the man was laying in a hospital bed dying from Covid, and his staff was tweeting right wing BS just hours before he died.

I've heard almost all the "normal" crazy things on here. Most of the same ones posting negative things about masks are also posting negative things about human rights issues. So I just deleted them from my friends on social media. We can have different views on things and not always agree but we can not be friends if we can not agree on these simple things.

I know that a lot of people who are very devout in certain religions hold this belief. It was just pretty surprising to hear my neighbor speak so openly and plainly about it when I don't really know her very well. I figured that this is something that you'd share with someone closer to you...like a friend or a relative. Not your next door neighbor who you mostly say hi to on your way to the mailbox! I just nodded and said, "Oh, ok."

Well, she probably wants to save you. My mom told me last week that this was "end times" and wanted to make sure I had accepted Jesus Christ, it was the only way I was getting into heaven. She is seriously worried about seeing her family in the after life.

I just watched, with my own eyeballs, Rep. Louie Gohmert say that he beleives he got COVID from wearing his mask more often in the past 10 days because (i'm paraphrasing from memory) "i touched my mask and then i wore it and put it down and put it on and I must have inhaled COVID because it was on my mask"

soooo yeah.
