"Welcome Home" annoys me

I love it! I also love having the magic band purple. It's not over the top in announcing that you have "an extra something" and is appreciated.

It's much like the sparkly wristbands at Aulani. Many folks won't ask you directly, but I've heard "Hey...what are those different wristbands for?"

I'm with the OP - I find it a tad brainwashing (controlled systematic indoctrination, especially one based on repetition...)

OMG- us too! The touchpoint said it at EPCOT and MK for us last weekend... I was so giddy. It's the small things these days.
110%! Felt compelled to cancel so many trips last year, cannot wait to hear it again the end of April!

We haven’t been anywhere in a year or so. I’d love someone to say “Welcome Home” at this point.

I like it. A security gate guard at SSR was very effusive with her "WELCOME HOME!!!" one time, and a friend I was with commented that "She's been drinking the corporate kool-aid." Maybe so, but I like it! It's intended for us to think of Disney and our DVC resort as a second home I think. Could do worse!

Other cruise lines don’t do that....well maybe the ultra expensive ones, I don’t know about those.
Sorry to break it to you, but DCL falls into the “ultra expensive” category. We took two DCL cruises before the price went through the roof. Now we cruise on Norwegian.

"Welcome Home" annoys me
Simple Thread, but Hella' funny !!! Totally agree ! Double "Welcome Home" when the touchpoint says it, then the CM says it. "Welcome Home" = "Thanks for kickin' down all that cash for your DVC contract(s)" !

"Welcome Home" annoys me.

That is all

That's funny. I have come to like it but when we first joined I wanted them to say something else "Welcome to a great vacation experience" or maybe just Welcome. Afterall, we didn't stay at a 'home' for the first 3 years.

I’m an ex DVC Member, and hate it. I am a local going to Disney for dinner. The last thing I want hear is “Welcome Home”.

I suppose if it was truly reserved for DVC Members it might be okay, but I’m not going home when I eat at Cape May.

Of all of the things that Disney does or has done that annoys me, this doesn’t even make a blip on my radar. Is this really something that gets under people’s skin? It’s a greeting, not a death threat. No worse than “Happy Holidays!” or “Have a nice day” or the latest trend of “Be well”. There’s no malice or il-will intended. Why let it bother you?

I use to have it even if I just rented points. Now that I am a DVC member, I can not wait to hear it again!!!!:dance3:

I like it.. but I'd prefer the "Welcome Home" greeting from Back to the Future II.
