Is there still a "best day" for each park?

See, now I find EPCOT to be MUCH busier on weekend days, so that would not be a must do weekend slot for me! It'd actually plan it opposite! I live here and really only hit EPCOT during the week because most people do the weekend/Friday nights there!
Epcot (World Showcase) was a madhouse this past Friday night....by about 6:30pm I was ready to get out of there. Unfortunately a weekend night had been our only real option, I would never do that voluntarily.

I was wondering this as well. The past few times we've been have been on/around Christmas, so every day was packed.

Assuming crowds are more normal than right now- Tues-Thurs least busy. Epcot worst Fri evening-Saturday. HS is always busy so may as well do it on the weekend. MK is typically busiest on Sat.

However, the past few weeks since the holidays mostly every day has low wait times. Looked at wait times yesterday and nearly everything was 25 or less. I don’t expect that to be the case over the summer though, unless covid cases are skyrocketing.

edit: typos! Phones :)

Yep! I tell everyone I can to avoid weekends there at all costs!

This is what I think too.

Tues and Wed are the most quiet days of the week, followed by Mon and Thurs. Use those days to enjoy the lowest crowds at any park right now.

We went to AK on Tues Jan 12. By afternoon FOP was 20 minute wait and at one point it hit 10 minute wait.

Was thinking of hitting animal kingdom/Epcot on a Monday and magic kingdom on a Tuesday. That’s awesome that FOP was only a 20 minute wait!

No best days, but weekends are more crowded across the board because of local AP holders, but really there is no predicting it at this point.
I agree with this. Weekends were more crowded from my most recent experience, but the rest of the week was ok. Now the parks hours are basically the same every day of the week and you can only park hop after 2pm so there's no real strategizing right now.

I'm going early March, Tuesday, Wed, Thu, and Friday.

Which park should I do on Friday, likely to be the busiest day?

Aside from thr weekends being busier all around Monday is still busy for MK
Do you think this is because many people arrive on Sunday and hit MK as their first park on Monday? I have an upcoming trip where I’m working around my daughter’s remote learning schedule. We are planning Epcot on Sunday because that was the best option for us, MK on Tuesday and DHS on Wednesday.

Yes and it was like this pre covid

Any chance you can switch Epcot and DHS? DHS is crowded every day so it doesn’t really matter if you go on a weekend, but Epcot will definitely be more crowded on Sunday then it would be on Wednesday.

Thanks! I was thinking Sunday probably wouldn't be as bad as Saturday at Epcot and that more AP's would be at DHS on the weekend? Plus I have a 50's primetime reservation for Wednesday. I could totally change everything around though and it wouldn't really matter -- I would really like to get a Sci Fi reservation, if not it will be Woodys Lunchbox and a Ronto Wrap for me (have to eat gluten free so that limits so many choices).

I know. We're in C19 season. BOOOoooooo. Back when I was a WDW regular, there were certain days parks were better. But as I recall, those were pretty much in line with which park had EMH, correct? Since every park has an extra 30 minutes each morning, I would imagine it doesn't matter where you go.

Trip is in late summer. Hopefully most things will be back to normal. We'll be arriving on a Wednesday and then have 5 park days. I figure Epcot should definitely fill a weekend slot. Maybe Saturday. What would you do on a Sunday? My thoughts lead me to believe that no one local is going to AK on a Sunday, so maybe??? And would you do MK on a Thursday or Friday?

Thanks! And it's good to be back planning WDW trips!
Here here to planning.
There is a best day for each park. Unfortunately they are all the same day... Tuesday. 😕
Jk enjoy your planning Yay!!

Here’s what we decided for our trip starting Friday before Easter.

Friday arrive in afternoon: maybe MK evening if they stay open late!
Saturday: HS and hopping to Epcot for dinner if we can (I know it’ll be crowded but we’ll have other Epcot time)
Easter Sunday - I do MK while husband plays golf
Monday - AK and Epcot dinner
Tuesday - Universal and maybe dinner at Disney Springs if we’re back in time.
Wednesday - husband plays golf and I have solo time at Epcot
Thursday - 2nd HS day so we have more chances for ROTR. Hop to Epcot for dinner.
Friday - MK

Mostly I just did what worked best for us but made sure to avoid MK on Saturday and Universal and Disney Springs on Easter weekend.

Just curious about thoughts for 4th of July. Yes, I know it will be hot as Hades and will have higher crowds but with two in college, this is the only time we can visit. What park would you visit on the 4th? I am thinking of adding a park hopper and starting in AK, taking a break and heading to MK for the evening. Do you think everyone will have the same idea? Do you think that many guests have actually added the hopper to their ticket?

Why is this? Not doubting you just curious what happened.
Not the poster you quoted, but I agree and will give you my reasoning. A few years ago Disney became VERY good at manipulating crowds. During slower times they adapted staff and ride capacity to meet the demand, making it "feel" crowded even during non-peak times. Then Covid hit and made crowd calendars even more useless, for a few reasons:
1. Limited capacity at all the parks
2. No more special events or EMH (which crowd calendars were generally based on)
3. School calendars all over the country have been modified, again throwing off traditional crowd calendars

IMO the only "rules" that really hold true at the moment are a) DHS is always crowded and b) Epcot will always be more crowded on the weekends.
