Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Does the yc have special music in the lobby? I would love to download it before the trip to get ready and excited. And also, why haven't characters come to visit resort, physical distanced ? I saw they came to WL the other day...any at yc?

Both the TC and BC have QS options with hot food. These can be ordered in MDE and brought to the pool area. TS Ale & Compass offer to go service for dinner.

So if you are at the pool and want chicken tenders or whatever, is there any place nearby?

Right now, you can get burgers & fries or chicken sandwiches & fries from the cocktail servers. They take a while as they are made to order at Cape May but they are really good. Not sure about tenders. You can get hot food at both markets. Just mobile order and go pick up when the food is ready.

Once Beach Club opens and/or Cape May opens, who knows if this will continue.

They come to the Beach Club constantly. Goofy and Pluto. They are up on the balcony area around the lobby. You can wave to them and take pics.

Opinions needed on SAB in June. What would you consider Peak Hours? Mid-day as in noon-3? Later afternoon as in 3-6? Evenings when people are returning form the parks from 6-9? We usually take pool breaks every day, generally somewhere during the 3-6 or 6-9 timeframes. Never having dealt with capacity at pools, I may need to adjust some plans. The grands feel cheated if they cant have a daily Disney Pool Break, even if it is just for 30-45 minutes!

Hey Wood Nymph, I just wanted to give you a big SHOUT OUT for all the information you pass along here on this thread. I knw many, especially me, have greatly benefited from the timely and helpful information you pass along. I am looking forward to your comments as the summer goes along keeping us all informed of all the changes and revisions that will be taking place as this thing works it way out of our vocabulary. I am currently planning on spending three days in December there at the YC and I rely on you and everyone else who so graciously contributes to this thread to keep me informed of what is going on. I know that doing any planning at this point is just plain futile as we know there will be many changes taking place over the next seven months. But again, thanks for all you are doing here.

Curious on this too. Contemporary pool in March wasn't hitting capacity until probably 1pm. Trying to figure out if I'm safe assuming pool doesn't open at 9am going to park till 11 or 12.

I would go onto You Tube, and put in Walt Disney World music. I have listened to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, HS and AK music loops. They are every long and exceptionally good.

We made some small changes to our trip for the BoG list for the next time it’s updated.

We are staying at the Yacht Club instead of Beach Club (I’ve gone back and forth on this several times now). But we ultimately decided to go from a BC garden view to a YC water view, partly because I prefer hard floors in hotel rooms.
And we adjusted the dates of our stay. We are staying at YC for the first part of our trip now:

01/26/21-02/02/2022

any suggestions for room requests? We like to not be too far from bus stops, food, etc. I was thinking somewhere closer to the BC side so we’re more in the middle? But I’ve never stayed here so my knowledge is limited.🥰

I totally agree! Thanks for giving props to @Wood Nymph for her vast knowledge and willingness to answer the questions promptly. I am so grateful for her, and the many posters on this thread who continue to make this one of the most helpful and "arguably", the friendliest thread on this board!

The search feature has been kind of wonky since the outage, so it is difficult for me to know if someone has posted here before.

The reviews were comical. Obviously their first trip to Disney which was not researched at all...."couldn't even eat at the ice cream shop." :rotfl2:

:welcome:

Thanks for your comment.

Well, hello! I know, I haven't "seen" you in a bit! I haven't been spending as much time on the boards. I see you're going in July, that's awesome! We'll be at the BCV in August too! :D

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for August.

:cool1:

Just booked our split stay trip for our son's early 16th birthday celebration in July 2022. (His sister celebrated with a Disney trip July 2020 and swam with dolphins at Discovery Cove. Our son said he was taking a 16th birthday trip too.) I was hoping for Hawaii or Ireland. Those were on his original list. Then two and half weeks ago we made a quick one day trip to Hollywood Studios on our way to our nephew's wedding in Sarasota and he changed his mind to Disney. My husband is all about going to Disney and he said book it before our son changes his mind. Everyone is looking forward to staying at the Yacht Club and having our pool day at Stormalong Bay! (It was part of our original plan for our last trip.)

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for next year.

:woohoo:

There are three pressed penny machines near the entrance of SAB. They take 2 quarters and a penny. They were actually the only ones we came across that took coins. Just got back home this morning. So happy to answer any questions I can.

:welcome: and thanks for the very helpful information!

:wizard:

So I’m really disappointed. I waited on hold for almost two hours, exactly 60 days before our check in at the Beach Club, to be told that they have no available cabanas for rental during our entire stay. I had a cabana secured last year along with everything else that we wanted, so I’m wondering if this is the sign that I should just cancel the trip. 😭 I also did our dining this morning, and that was pretty rough as well. Thoughts? Do you think we will get to swim without a cabana reservation? I don’t want to wait in a two-hour line to enter our resort pool.

:welcome:

Sorry to hear about your disappointment.

Since there are only 4 cabanas available at Stormalong Bay, they do book up very quickly. It is difficult to know if that is an indication about the situation at SAB during your stay- a number of factors will determine wait times to use the pool. The Beach Club is opening up, which will increase the guest count, but the possibility of the easing of some limits at either the pools or the parks by then may impact the capacity allowed.

I truly hope you have a magical trip and are able to enjoy SAB during your stay.

:fish:

We booked a trip for Memorial Day week (29th to 4th) at Yacht Club, mostly for the pool. I called right at 60 days and we got a cabana for June 1 and 3, but we also have a pool day planned for Sunday the 30th and no cabana was available. We'll keep checking to see if there's a cancelation but we wonder what the policy is for coming/going from pool after you get there. For example if we get there at 8am and get our spot and at 11am we want to get food or just go for a walk around Crescent lake, can we leave our stuff at the pool and immediately reenter the pool when we get back, even if there is now a line? I'm really worried lines might be a problem since the Beach Club is reopening on 5/30, doubling the number of guests going to the pool

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

I booked for the second week in May and they would only rent full day due to Covid and it was a little over $300

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1, Post 15.

Which resort?

:cool1:

We're taking a quick weekend trip for Flower and Garden Apr 23-26 - couldn't pass up the discount at YC

Those of you who have been recently, how is SAB in the later afternoon and evening? Any long waits or issues finding a lounger?

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list!

:goodvibes

Just checked in at YC after spending weeks obsessively calling about cabana cancelations for our resort-only stay. My husband thought I was nuts staying on hold for 1-2 hours at a clip in the evening and even my 4 year old learned the theme song to Indiana Jones which he now requests we play on Spotify with some regularity.
Anyway, I never was able to find availability but in the end, I’m actually glad! When we arrived today around 12:30 and our room wasn’t ready, we headed straight for SAB and saw a line of two groups or so in front of us (a large group of 8 or more and a group of 4). About 5 minutes later we were given wristbands and were ushered to our seats by a cast member. The wait wasn’t bad at all and the next two days look downright chilly - rainy and in the 70s tomorrow and high of 66 on Friday. It’s a bummer we won’t be able to take advantage of the pool (unless we are feeling brave in cooler temps) but boy am I glad I didn’t spend the $300+ on a cabana.
And to top it off we got a bit of pixie dust at check in with an upgrade from a garden view to water view room!
So for all those worried about cabanas, I wouldn’t stress too much. You never know what other magic may be in store! Wishing y’all a magical trip and happy to answer any questions while we are here.
As an aside, we were at AKL Kidani before this and LOVED it! Perfect resort for a resort-only stay IMO! Tried DS twice and way too crowded and mask compliance was way too poor for us to feel comfortable. Left almost immediately (save for our lunch at Boathouse which was delicious and did feel safe).

Thank you so much for letting us know about your trip, and providing some reassurance about access Stormalong Bay.

:cool2:

Since we booked our flights today I guess I can finally say that we are officially going to be in Disney this summer!! We are going 8/18-8/28. I am a little concerned that it may be too long in current times but at the same time, maybe it will be nice to have a more leisurely trip.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list!

:dogdance:

Fingers crossed we are finally gonna be back at the BC this August! Everything is booked and the kids and I are all getting vaccinated next week. After canceling May 2020, June 2020, August 2020, January 2021 and March 2021 trips we are all holding our breath to finally be back home to WDW in 124 days! :earsgirl:

:welcome: back!

So glad to hear about this trip with your boys.

I'll add you to the list.

:woohoo:

Everyone on these boards for yc/bc is very friendly. thank you for answering my many rookie questions!

Thanks for the kind words. We all take a lot of pride here that we are a safe place for guests to ask any question and receive polite, informative answers.

:magnify:

We are vaccinated and ready for Disney!!! We are staying a few days at the Polynesian Villas, then July 5-12 at the Beach Club! It's been 4 years since we've been to Disney World and 8 years since we've stayed at the Beach Club. We are very happy to be going back!!

:welcome: back!!!

Sounds like a great trip to break your Disney drought.

:dogdance:

To celebrate Pop coming home Tuesday from a brief rehab after a hospital stay, we decided to go ahead and make reservations for Food and Wine. So if you will please add us to the BOG list, we will be at YC Nov 8-15. Feels good to be looking forward to something again.

Hooray!

So glad to hear your Pop is on the mend. An upcoming trip to WDW can be a great motivator for healing.

I'll add you to the list!

:woohoo:

Was thinking exactly as you. We were able to book our flights today. So now the trip is REAL !!. I even talked mama in to going down one day earlier. we are doing Universal for days 1 & 2. Not sure if we'll just have a pool day or make it an extra 1/2 day at the park there. Either way its relaxing. We also got the last non stop back to Philly, leaving at 8pm, which give us a solid 5-6 hours at WDW the last day. Now we just have to decide what park to reserve for that last day.

Best wishes to all travelling before we do in September. We enjoy watching your planning and reading your trip reports. !!

I have you on the list, but I don't have your milestone anniversary noted, so I'll add that!

Just over 3 weeks until we head in for our second stay at BCV! We did a split stay back in September and we loved it so much we could hardly wait to get back. :yay:

I’ve been trying to keep up with the new park info and I have a question. If we want to be at MK for the unofficial early open (around 7 for an 8am opening), what time should we be at the bus stop?

In our experience, we were at the bus stop by 6:40am and the bus showed up around 6:45ish for MK. Saw this 2 days in a row.

Thank you! I was kind of worried I’d have to be there at 6am for the bus. This is much more doable.:D
