We've only been to MVMCP before, so I'm not as familiar with the other party options. Can someone explain why this would be considered a plussed AH event? From what I understand, the AH parties have unlimited soda, popcorn, and ice cream. I know this one will have candy like MNSSHP, but without the other free items, I would consider it a step down, even with no lines. They’re being pretty clear that it’s not a minused MNSSHP it’s a plussed AH. It will be priced as such.
Remember for AH events you literally won’t wait in line for more than a minute or two for anything. No lines for characters, no lines for candy, no lines for rides. The benefit structure is completely different from a party.
This is, I think, an overly rosy assessment of most After Hours events. Unfortunately, lines at AH events can sometimes get quite long (especially, but not limited to, VAH). There have been plenty of reports on these boards of guests complaining about very long lines, especially for the headliner rides. Some nights, DAH sees almost no waits. Other nights, it sees angry customers facing lines that don't look much different from normal daytime waits.Remember for AH events you literally won’t wait in line for more than a minute or two for anything. Hope you are correct about that. I remember the last MNSSHP event we went to.They’re being pretty clear that it’s not a minused MNSSHP it’s a plussed AH. It will be priced as such.

ohh your picture is much better than mine. I was too awestruck to remember to pull out my phone LOL!The fire breathing was always cool but way more impressive at night imo, especially coming down lit up Main Street.

MVMCP is a party, not an AH event. AH attendance is capped somewhere around 1/10th of party attendance so the value proposition is completely different - you have 3 hours to walk onto or into anything you want. The parties have lines for E ticket rides and long lines for candy and characters. We've only been to MVMCP before, so I'm not as familiar with the other party options. Just trying to gauge where they might price this....
While I'm actually excited by the announcement, I'm a bit concerned with this as well. My youngest will be 2.5 for this trip and since he's the only one of the kids that hasn't experienced MNSSHP in the past, I was really wanting him to be able to enjoy it. We were expecting that one of us would have to take him back early since he won't be able to hang like the other kids, but I don't even know if he'll make it to 9:00. Maybe we'll try a late nap that afternoon so he doesn't wake up until around dinnertime? We'll plan for a relaxing pool day after the party.I was really looking forward to taking ds to his first MNSSHP. There’s no way we can make a 7 pm start time work with a toddler. I wish they would’ve offered something earlier for those with young children
I suspect people are considering it as a plussed AH event as most associate the parades, stage shows and fireworks with MNSSHP and MVMCP events and those things (so far) will not be happening. Calling it a plussed AH event is a positive spin instead of a minused MNSSHP event (which it really sounds like it will be). Ultimately, the pricing will be everything. We've only been to MVMCP before, so I'm not as familiar with the other party options. Can someone explain why this would be considered a plussed AH event? My Ds will only be 18 months when it’s going on. He’s usually in bed around 7:30-8.While I'm actually excited by the announcement, I'm a bit concerned with this as well. I liked the old dragon, but the new Steampunk version is even better. Hope to see it back.We went to Villains Nights too and yes the Maleficent dragon was awesome! We are going to probably go too.
That’s when we will be there too! I’m excited that there’s going to be some kind of party. But I am also wondering what the price will be. This will be our first time to be there on Halloween night, so we have to go!I'm withholding judgment on the event until I see pricing. I'm tentatively excited about the event even though I'll miss the fireworks. While I enjoyed the parade at the party, it was always SO packed and I hated wasting party time reserving a spot so the little ones could actually see. The lines for characters were always insane so we skipped those entirely. So, I want to like the revised version. I'm just not sure I'll want to spend $700+ for all of us. Since we'd be looking at 10/31, I'm sure we'll have the highest price structure regardless.
I pretty much promised the kids that if they were missing trick or treating on Halloween due to our trip that we'd find some way to make it up to them My oldest will be trying HHN with the hubby & I for the first time this year but we still needed something for the younger ones on Halloween! I'm sure I'll cough up the money regardless, unfortunately. That’s when we will be there too! I’m excited that there’s going to be some kind of party. But I am also wondering what the price will be.
