My concern is they're gonna make my 12-year-old order a $55 lunch or $79 dinner when she still eats the $29 9-years-old-and-younger kids meal portion. Because you know, she's a kid.

They may not make you order the adult item, but you will have to pay for it since she is over 9. We end up having the same issue with our 15 year old.

Yea, this has been my worry/issue with Disney and their age categories for a long, long time. It's just not fair to charge that much for a 10-year-old to eat. No kid that age eats as much as an adult, it just doesn't happen. My meal should not be equal to that of a child. There should be a middle tier for 10-15 or something. I know there never will be, but I can't justify the cost.

Do you have to pay in full when making a reservation for this restaurant does anyone know?

Although no reservations have been made to date for Space 220, my assumption is it will be like every other normal restaurant reservation at Disney. You guarantee your reservation with a credit card number, that's it. Which also means you can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of your reservation and not get charged a cancellation fee.

It's usually not an issue, except at buffets and single price venues. If you go to places with a la carte, then you can usually order off the kids menu for those over 9. At least, that has been our experience.

My daughter will be 13 when we go, and nothing would appeal to her from the adult menu. If I'm going to be made to pay $55 or $79 for her kids meal, I would like it to be an adult sized meal - like the pasta from the kids menu.
She would however eat a couple of the adult desserts.

Speaking of desserts - I know they are not included in the price at lunchtime, but will they just not be offered at lunchtime at all, even for extra cost?

The lunch menu is weird. $55 pp but they also list 'flight bites' for an additional cost, some of which are already on the $55 menu. And a space station lobster 'special' for $18. Dinner similar.

btw 'space fries'. Yer killin me, Disney.

I think I am going to book this and wait for reviews to come in. Thanks in advance to all the beta testers.

So I read in an article in Motley Fool this morning that Space 220 is open for walk-ins starting Monday and will need reservations starting the 27th?

I usually use them for stock info so I'm not sure how accurate it is, but wanted to let folks know what's circulating! (Also, forgive me if everyone knew that bit already and I am extra late to the party!)

We have ordered what the server called "an adult sized portion" of a kids meal item at Disney restuarants. And they would charge more than the kids meal price, which was fine with us. I would have to do this at Space with my special needs adult son too. AND my 29 year old daughter STILL does this because she loves grilled cheese LOL.

At buffets I often grab a few items from the kids area too!

This is a TGI Friday's-at-an-airport level menu. And with prices that would make the airport look like a bargain.

Never go to Disney for the quality of the food, but, come on guys....
Maybe the experience will be super awesome. Or maybe they just want lots of money.

Personally I think it is an issue for any pre fixe menu. I’m 64. My 10 & 14 year old nephews can eat way more than I can. I have eaten less & less over the last couple of years. But since I want to experience the restaurants with pre fixe meals, like BOG & Space 220, I have to pay the price & just eat what I can. Or choose to eat where I can order less & miss the experiences. I think there are a lot of people this applies to also.

It does not mention inclusion on the menu, but it does mention additional pricing for non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. In fact, it mentions buying a nonalcoholic cocktail or kid's meal gets you a "card pack", so I'd assume you get water free, and anything else gets you a card pack for your extra price troubles...
The Be Our Guest Prix-Fixe menu doesn't specifically state drinks are included in the online menu, but they definitely are. Just specialty or alcoholic drinks are extra.

That's exactly what happened to us at Be Our Guest. :(

Also who in their right mind is paying $25 extra for dinner when it’s the same menu and all you get added is a dessert? I’m not saying $55 for lunch is a fair price but it just gets worse for dinner.

I will try to book lunch for our upcoming trip and wait to read the reviews.
