MNSSHP 2022 Check-in -- Dates, Costumes, and More!

Probably a naive question but how hard are the popcorn buckets to get? We're going to the party on the 26th and my daughter has taken a shine to the Mickey mummy popcorn bucket.

We're attending the October 20th party. This will be our second MNSSHP. I'm working on putting together our 90's cartoon themed costumes. Here's our outfits from 2016 (Burlesque Sally and QuailMan) and our Oggie Bash outfits from 2021 (Big-time and Burger Beagle).

I bit the bullet and got tickets for Sept 29th. Now, I just need to keep my fingers crossed for no rain. No clue yet what we’re wearing.

Glue a coonskin cap on top of a tophat and go as Henry? Or get a bear-ear headband and copy one of their shirts.
I've seen some cute Country Bears t-shirts on Etsy that look like the old poster art work. You could be Trixie with a pink boa and blue sunhat. Myself and my two friends are going as the Sunbonnets: Bunny, Bubbles, and BEE-U-LAHHH!

Update: All costumes purchased and fit (maybe a bit big for the kids but they are growing fast). Marvel family - Fat Thor (DH), Scarlet Witchesque (Me), Thor and Hulk (the twins). Everyone is super excited now. They are all going to be so hot. Crossing that bridge then :D

DH and I are going Oct 2. This will be our first solo trip and first time attending MNSSHP and I'm so excited! I'm leaning towards more of a Disneybound version of Snow White or another princess but crossing my finger that DH will wear a themed t-shirt.

I have outfit that I'm making progress on and is looking good, will post a pic when I fix a few things. I'm not sure what I will do with my 2nd costume just yet, I've got some parts that currently don't fit and I can't get replacements for.

My DH, DD and her DBF are going October 27th! We are super excited. My costume idea is for me and my husband to be Tink and one of the lost boys. I am having a heck of a time trying to find what I need to purchase to put together a lost boy costumer for an adult. Do any of you have any ideas? I really want to get started on the costumes, but don't know where to begin with him! I am also wondering if it would be better for him to be Peter Pan or Captain Hook. lol. I just really love the lost boy idea.

Any suggestions?

First thing that comes to mind is one of those hats with the scarf bit attached:

Hey friends....as we get closer and closer to our September party date....I am getting increasingly worried that I'm going to get turned away for my costume.

Lewd and inappropriate attire is becoming a little bit of a talking point these last couple of weeks. It won't surprise me if there is a blanket policy put into place soon.

Here's where my costume comes in. I'm going as Mrs. Banks from Mary Poppins. It's sort of halfway between a Mrs Banks disneybound and a costume. The piece de resistance is the iconic "Votes for Women" suffragette sash. I am afraid that....in the current climate, it will be seen as a political statement, and I will be turned away.

Now....yes, it's a political statement. I pay homage to all the women who came before. But...it's not a political statement, in the sense of current world events. I had plans to use this costume back in 2020, but...we all know what happened there. It has nothing to do with any particular rulings or anything going on in the world today.

Am I overthinking? Am I worrying over nothing?

Yeah the Lost Boy costume would be tough to do without a really hot and uncomfortable headpiece.

You could go the Lost Boy from Hook route if you wanted. That opens up a bit more.

Now...as for me, I'd suggest John Darling. It's a super distinctive costume. And relatively easy. A top hat, glasses, and a white nightgown.

I think you'll be fine. I saw a picture of a Disney blogger wearing the shirt you are describing at the party last night.

And worst-case you just take the sash off.

Except...I wouldn't want to. It's the lynchpin of the costume....what makes mrs banks mrs banks.

Also, it's the first piece I started with and I spent a decent amount of money on Etsy for it.

If it came down to it, I'd probably (kindly) throw a fit or ask for a refund.
