If we wanna catch the first parade in Frontierland how early should we be getting there? We’ll have ds in his stroller so we won’t want to be behind anyone

When you start seeing people sit behind the white tape, that’s usually THE sign to find a spot. First parade, minimum 1.5-2 hrs.

We're going to the parties September 5 and 9 and have a few questions.

We're staying at Universal. What's the best way to get to the party? Uber to TTC then take ferry? Uber to Contemporary then walk? I do love the ferry. We've only ridden it a couple times since we have always stayed onsite. We plan to be there by 3:30 or so to get our wristband and be ready to go in at 4.

Are popcorn stands open during the party?
This can be hit or miss. Last week I had a lunch reservation at Grand Floridian Cafe and took an Uber there, I was prepared to present my magic band to prove I had an ADR but was not asked for it. The guard did ask the Uber driver for his ID though.

Yes, I bought popcorn before I sat down to watch the parade.
How difficult is it to get an Uber after the party? We will plan to stay until it's over then slowly make our way out so it'll probably be about 1 AM and I think we'll walk to the Contemporary and catch an Uber from there.
I walked over to the Contemporary. Waited maybe 10 mins for an Uber back to Universal. It was more expensive than my ride there ($28.93 vs $19.95 before tip)

1.5-2 hours in Frontierland? Wow I thought we could show up way later than that.

Just to clarify, that is about when people start lining up, not when the front row gets filled. You may be ok 45 min beforehand.

We like Frontierland. But there’s a lot of traffic and walkways that get roped off last minute (for example the parade start walkway next to SM). You have to watch those last minute people shoving themselves into your space.

I was thinking of watching the 10:45p HP show then 2nd parade. If we're to the right of the castle for the show, isn't that along the parade route anyway? So we'd be in place for parade. I started doing Touring Plan with things in this order and it was showing the HP show would end at 11:05, so that would be about the time the Headless Horsman would come through right? I wasn't sure if they would really be doing the two things so close together so I wanted to make sure. I think I'm leaning towards this option so we can do some last minute ToT or a ride or 2 after parade. We've always watched from Frontier Land, any clue about how long it will take parade to get to hub area? Maybe 11:30ish?

Thanks for sharing your experience! Hopefully someone goes before our party and can report what time they lined up for the parade

Crystal Palace porch area is a good place or snagging an early seat in front of Casey’s
My DH has back and knee problems, so standing still for long periods is almost impossible for him. I've thought it would be nice to get a seat in front of Casey's. We plan to eat there that night anyway. How early would we need to be there though?

We were actually thinking about doing exactly the same thing as you. Would you mind reporting back if you are successful? I’m slightly worried that too many people might try this and that it would be too crowded…

I can help answer some questions about timing and parade spots 🙂. We attended the party on the 23rd and it was nowhere near the crowd level of 2019, which was our last party. We might have just been very lucky since it was just me and DS for this trip, so not a big group, but we got a front row spot for the first parade across from Pecos Bills 20 minutes prior to start. When the parade ended, we went straight to Splash (walk-on). From there, we went to the Hub and got a pretty good spot for the fireworks fairly close to the left turret 15 minutes prior to start. When those were over, we moved into the spots closer to the castle stage to watch Hocus Pocus at 10:45. All in all, it was by far the easiest and smoothest entertainment-watching experience we’ve ever had at a MNSSHP, and we have been going for years. I genuinely think that they put a lower cap on tickets this year and it made for a much more enjoyable time.

Anybody know when Columbia Harbour House closes on party nights?

Any pin trading going on during the party? I assume it's still pin boards in certain places no CM lanyards correct?

Pre-Covid, we went to CHH on a party night at 6 and it was still open, I believe they closed at 7 and we didn't want to get stuck with the other QS options. This was before mobile ordering was available there and the line to order took forever, but we got our food quickly. Planning to go there again for our party night, we love that it's right next to HM so we can make that our first ride right when the characters come out.

CHH is not available as QS option this year. See Post 1 & Party Map for complete list of food options.

Where can I "Trick-or-Treat" in the Magic Kingdom?

Are there any Dining Options?
Dining is available at select counter service and snack locations throughout the park, but is very limited once the party begins. It’s probably wise to eat your main evening meal prior to attending the party.

We won’t be there until the end of September to experience the new capacity, but I know that location is primo. People will hold spots without eating, so you may have to stalk.

This is wonderful news. We’ve been going for years as well and the crowds just about became unbearable. I remember being in Frontierland and watching a sea of people. I hope capacity stays this way for us next month.

9/11 (Sunday) and 9/23 (Friday) are now sold out leaving only 3 dates in September, all in the last week of the month.

Our date is 9/11 and I knew it would only be a matter of time before it sold out, too.

If weather cooperates + I don’t forget (both equally likely I’m embarrassed to admit but I lose track of time at Disney 😆) I’ll give this a shot on 9/13. I made a note in my calendar to report back so at least I won’t forget that part!
