Welp I'm at the surgeon's office. Unexpectedly having a major surgery with a week in the hospital next month. With likely a second one sometime after. No fireworks or VIP for us.

Glad our trip is mostly paid for. :*(
Sorry to here that and sending lots of healing vibes to you!

Anyone else have Kindle Unlimited? Nothing compares to an actual book but I really do love my Kindle Voyage for traveling. I'm making sure that I have the books I'd like have the option to choose from for next week and I have no idea how I made it work back when the limit was 10 KU books borrowed at once. I'm having issues with the 20 limit it presently is :faint: as in I want more books

I also have thousands of "bought" books by that I mean I did buy them but they were either freebies for newsletters or when they were $0.00 but still I need more options!!!
Love my Kindle enough to marry it!! 📕 💒 I first thought that I would miss the actual feel of a book, but the ability to bring my entire library is priceless. Plus, now that I’m old, I can adjust the font. With real books, I kinda feel like Tony Stark trying to read those monitors in The Adventures. I also “borrow” books from my local library, in addition to churning books with Kindle Unlimited. #BudgetBoardWorthy #OPWouldBeProud

And I also just figured out how to quote multiple posters, so I’m kinda proud of myself. 😂

I have a VERY OLD Kindle...like so old that it's black & white...very basic! I don't really read much, usually only when we travel so I never got Kindle Unlimited. I actually didn't even use it the last 2 vacation, so I'm not even sure if it still works! LOL! Also, I feel like I'm a bit old-school and I like flipping the pages. But Kindle is absolutely convenient. Lightweight, doesn't take up any space in your bag, and you can have thousands of books in one.

We shall chat about CC points!! I have CSR and Amex Plat. I have been contemplating...back and forth about opening the Delta Reserve🤔....They have some restrictions that I don't like, but then I get a companion tix every year and it can be first class....sooooo....:confused3:confused:

Yes! I am fully in the Chase sphere right now due to 5/24. Have the CSP and Freedom Flex, and my next card will be Freedom Unlimited for the flat 1.5% cashback that can be converted to Ultimate Rewards points. THEN I am eyeing an Amex Gold because dining out and groceries are easily my highest spend categories and I want to get some Membership Rewards in the mix too. Love the transferable points.

I am still paying off some student loans and CC debt accumulated before I became financially literate. Now I pay off all my rewards cards in full and only carry a balance on a balance transfer card with 0% interest right now, which I opened for the express purpose of debt paydown. CSR and Amex Plat don't make sense for my current budget and travel habits but eventually I want to add a premium card to the lineup! One of my coworkers has the Delta Amex and LOVES it. Not sure if there is more than one as Delta is actually the one airline I don't really fly (they don't have good nonstop options to the places I go most :()

How's THAT for on-topic for budget board?

TGIF, my DIS friends!! Well, I’m a nurse so my “Fridays” are usually on different days but cheers to everyone else.

We have zero plans for Easter since none of our kids or grandchildren will be over. My husband wants to eat at Cracker Barrel, which makes me feel like a senior citizen.

Now to jump in and get caught up.
Cracker-Barrel is good weekend morning fun...

All the major airlines have the Delta AMEX Reserve (Premium Cards) equivalent from their respective banks - Delta is what I use quite a bit for travel since I live in the Atlanta area - just makes the most sense for now.

I actually miss Jack in the Box ... so I support and salute you! :drinking:
We had a Jack in the Box in the town where I worked for about 5 mins. It opened and was slammed. Closed in less than a year because it was so horribly staffed. Like you'd go in and there would be 5-6 employees standing around talking and they'd look at you and ignore you. Or you'd hear them cussing and screaming thru/over the drive thru speakers. And it was so dirty. It didn't take long for the complaints on the local good, bad and ugly FB page to get people to stop going there. I liked it the one time I ate there.

If you travel enough, the travel cards are definitely worth it. So both our cards are linked between me, DH and in laws. We do have to pay the AUs fees on top of the annual fee but it's okay, I did the math and it's still worth it for the 4 of us.
We are Delta loyalists! We won't fly any other airlines unless we have to. We flew Alaska for the first time in like 5 yrs and guess what....3 hours delayed!!🤬😡🤬😤 I only bought that flight because it was a better schedule than Delta and it was the same price, short 2 hr flight I figured no biggie. Well I was enraged when I watched the Delta flight that I didn't book 2 gates away from us and left BEFORE US!! ugh!

Anyhooo...back to CC topic...I'm racking up all my points mostly for international biz/first class. In 2020, I booked a biz class Air France flight and it was only 56k miles!!! Then of course we all know what happened....so now I still have 112K miles sitting in Air France. My goal is actually to do a Round-The-World (RTW) trip with miles/points, all biz class!! It can be done but requires LOTSSSS of research, planning and most importantly LUCK with availability for each leg. If I can achieve that some day...I would be over the moon!!! 🤭

Um....my Gideon's queue was called early and only ordered a cold brew. It's SO hot out here and not in the mood for a cookie. The Pumpkin Chai cold brew is SOO good! :D
We only been to Gideon ONCE. Call me a weirdo but I don't like cookies with SO MUCH chocolate chips in them!! Just can't....I don't even think it will stay in my stomach if I ate them....
But I really wanted to try the dark chocolate coffee cookie and DH wanted to try the banana one so we finally gave in, and also got their PB cold brew. Well....our verdict was....we aren't going back! LOL!😂 The cookies weren't bad, just not our thing. The PB cold brew was :crazy2::crazy2: !! I should have gotten the Pumpkin Chai instead!! But the guy said PB is more popular and I do like PB so sure why not?! The Reese's Nitro @ Everglazed is so much better! (surprisingly).

I'm jealous of everyone's Disney plans. Everyone in my family is traveling, except me. Well, I did book the dog boarding and hotel for my summer jaunt to Connecticut to inter my brother, so I have that, I suppose. My sister has chosen to have his cremains buried with my parents, poor guy--he'll be stuck next to our mom for all eternity! But, her choice, he can haunt her if he doesn't like it. And as a PSA--make your wishes known, people!

And after the memorial, we'll spend a week at a ranch in NY that we visit every year, so I'll have that, at least.

I use my really old iPad as an e-reader. I do still buy real books to read at home, but for travel, nothing beats carrying 1000 books in your pocket or purse.

That was a roller-coaster of emotions ... sorry for your loss ... although, I am not sure?
