Do you have a cat?
If yes, how many?
(multiple choice)

*I ask how many, because many people I talk to have more than one cat. A long time patient, that comes into our office, has over 20 - you read that right - two zero - that’s a lot of cats. Some live inside and some live outside - we call her the cat lady - LOL! She’s one of my favorites - very nice lady.

For Me…..No cats - my DH and I are both allergic.
The closest thing we have to owning cats, are two cats that hang out around our house. One likes sunning itself on the front porch of my girls treehouse - it’s a good spot - overlooks the back yard. We tell these cats all the time - you’re welcome to stay, as long as you do your job, and keep the mice away. We live next to a forest and we rarely have mice in our house, so it’s either luck, or the cats are doing their job - I like to believe it’s the cats - LOL!

No cats here. I am uncomfortable around cats—not exactly a phobia, but very on edge and when I am around one. I blame both grandmothers and my mother who were all the same way.

I have one cat named Polly. She’s about 9 years old now and is the only cat I’ve ever had.

My mother never liked cats. Before getting Polly I had a series of “cat food” pets: fish, parakeets, hamsters, etc.

Down to one - he’s ok - I’m a dog person but this cat thinks he’s a dog so he’s ok he’s the size of a small dog as he’s a Maine Coon Cat - he likes playing with the dog bones - throws them up in the air and chews on them ! He gets along great with the dog

We are a cat family.

I can't imagine having 20 cats though!! The most we had at one time was 3 and that was more than enough.

Right now, we have 2 cats. They are sisters and about 7 years old. Jessie is solid black and Minnie is a gray tabby.

I’ve had them in the past, but I come in and out of allergies to them so I decided after my last one I was done…I used to work at a pet store and the amount of people that would drop cats/kittens was insane. I would take them in and get them fixed and vaccinated and find them new homes. So I wasn’t really an “owner” more of an in between landing spot.

Always had cats but when I got pregnant I became allergic. We kept the cats with us since I was fine as long as I wasn't petting them and I covered their sitting spots with something I could easily and frequently wash. DH could pet them and while I am sure my own lack of affection was confusing for them they were still safe and happy for the rest of their lives. It would have broken my heart if the allergy forced me to rehome them, grateful we made it work.

No cats anymore. It is my pet of choice though.
DGD is allergic.
But after our last one died, we decided no more pets. We are older and like to travel.
At most we had 5, so inside some out.
We have owned many over the years.
DD has one and we cat sit when needed.

We had an outdoor cat that we adopted when I was growing up, but as an adult, we have birds, so we don't have a cat.

However, my DS invited a friend of his to stay with us for 4-6 weeks while he establishes himself in PA from CA. He brought his cat with him. The cat stays in the basement, away from my birds. Once they find an apartment, his wife and DD will join him here. They are hoping for a better life in our lower cost of living area.

I am also allergic, to any pet with fur, so no cats, dogs, rabbits, etc. The only pets we ever had was when my sister had birds.

Our 16 year old cat passed away about a month ago so we currently are down to zero pets. We have a lot of travelling coming up so we decided that we aren't going to bring an animal into our home just to leave them at a kennel. We'll start our search soon after, tho!

No cats and I've never owned one. My family did have a cat very briefly when I was a toddler that "ran away" (aka got hit by the mail truck). I don't remember it, but we do have one picture of me with it.

I chose “other” as I have never personally been owned by a cat. I am allergic to some (itchy watery eyes) but not others. When I was a kid we had two, Mellow and for the life of me I can’t remember the others name. I do have a grandkitty Maggie and thankfully I’m not allergic to her so can stay with DD when I visit. In my eyes she can do no wrong which is funny because I’ve never been a cat person.

Not right now but I have had in the past. Only two at one time. I would have one now but hubby isn't an animal fan, or I should say wasn't. I whined for 20 years about not having a pet, my son had a yorkie/poo that hubby liked, so one day he told me if I could find a small one like her, we would get it. That afternoon we came home with a 2 month old yorkie. Hubby spoiled her rotten from day one, she is 9 years old now and at the moment in the process of burying a toy under a towel in her bed (which she only uses to bury things in and to sit and pout when she's mad at us, she sleeps in our bed).

We had cats growing up because my mom was afraid of dogs. My wife is allergic to cats, so no cats now. We have a sweet dachshund.
