Wow, 90 minutes for an agent allowed? So that means with 8 reps, likely 5-6 of them are held up with just the agents booking for people, no wonder the phone holds took so long. Can see the benefit of using a CTA if that’s how Disney works things, I would’ve assumed one booking per call.
 
This is a frustrating booking process! Got through, was on hold with the ominous music, phone was answered by regular disney reservations line, and the cast member pretty much hung up on me when I said I was calling about the star cruiser.

This happened to me three times. I finally got someone who was kind and let me know the main reservation line is getting the spillover. She said the que is currently a five hour wait and closed. I've been calling since it opened since 7am. I've been redialing for 5.5 hours now. I have no problem sitting on hold for another 5, but by bumping to the main line, that's not going to happen. She said if you get through on the Starcruiser line and it tells you your wait is 10 minutes, you likely got bumped to the main reservation line and there's no need to stay on hold.
 
I've been trying to call in for the last 10m and keep getting a 30 second loop thanking me for calling, that the call is monitored and that they can't take any more calls at this time only to hang up on me. Ugh, Disney, why won't you just take my money?

Yup - its the benefit of working with a TA - we wait on hold so that your life doesn't have to be ON hold!! in 2021, I was o hold from 9AM until 3PM to get the halloween tickets for a client!!! It was.....interesting to say the least!!!

That's good to know, but gives me little hope that I'll actually be able to book unfortunately.
 
Do you have any sense of how many dates are available (vs. what is on the availability chart)? I feel like it's probably not worth it for me to keep calling and waiting 4h at this point...

it sounded like the availability chart was really accurate. At one point, I was trying for an August date as my first choice, and it booked up while the cast member as checking, and I saw it change on the chart when I refreshed my screen.
 
Since I've got nothing else to do while listening to busy signals, I suppose I'll just keep posting here.

If the statement on the Galactic Starcruiser website is accurate and cruise availability is updated in real time, it doesn't look like cruises are filling at any sort of noticeable pace. I don't think that a single date that showed as "available" when I logged on this morning is showing as "unavailable" now. So perhaps this is a problem of having 2000 people trying to get in on the 2 dedicated lines (or whatever insufficient number) for booking.
Or they have one person answering the phones.
 
I never buy travel insurance, but it was only $200 because there was 2 adults, the 2 kids were free. I went ahead and got it this time. Anyone else?
