I guess it is for lazy crooks. But my current address is public record as is my place of birth, on my birth certificate which is also public record. But, yes, for you in Canada it would be different because birth records are not public record, much to the frustration of people trying to trace their family trees.

I'd say about 950 miles. If someone can mine information from that fact that would be beneficial to them, then I bow down my head in respect to their superior ability. I don't use Goofyernmost on any of my accounts that would matter. So have at it. I'm also sure that I probably stated my place of birth from time to time, but my birth certificate doesn't list my name as Goofyernmost.

This is a good point. When I talk about distance to my European friends, they really don't get just how big America is.

My husband moved here from Scotland and has tried to explain this to people. We live in Boston and his cousin is in San Jose. His Aunt was like why don’t you ever meet up for a meal? I just laughed. Sure we will hop on a plane cross country for lunch.

I live in the Sacramento area, and people have asked if I go to Disneyland frequently. Well, it is a 7 hour drive, over 400 miles away.
And then their mind is blown because to drive from the northern border of California, to the southern border is a 14 hour drive and 900 miles.
