What Counter Service Do You Like in the Parks?

We visited with a large group in March 2023. Many of the CS places we used to like were just awful. For example, Tortuga Tavern. Not only is the topping bar gone, which we expected because of the economy, but the food was just awful. Pizze Rizzo changed...less toppings. Woody's lunchbox was no bueno. Where do you go in the parks for counter service where you feel the food is "good" and you get enough for the price. I do understand this is subjective.

The only park for us that is not an issue is EPCOT. There is so much to choose from.

I don’t make a habit of eating QS mostly because I try to stay away from processed foodstuff in general but specifically because some places do it so badly ( looking 👀 over by MK ).
I helped eat a turkey leg in MK once and of course I enjoyed cut fruit from the markets at AK and MK. There‘s a green salad at Catalina Eddie and a burger with fixings at Rosie’s both in HS that are pretty decent. We liked the EPCOT Japanese QS up the hill; great landscaping.

Truth of the matter is my big meal of the day is dinner and that has to be a sit down place. No need for me to eat breakfast or lunch most days.

Harbor house, Pecos Bill and Cosmic Rays in MK.
Regal Eagle and the food court in The Land pavilion.

Satuli Canteen - AKL
Ronto Roasters - HS
Epcot food booths - there's almost always food booths

Regal Eagle
Flame Tree BBQ (watch those birds tho)
Yak and Yeti CS

Mr Kamals Fries were good when we went to AK (I'm not a big AK fan)

HS - Hollywood scoops has am blueberry mickey waffles. I love Woody's lunchbox 🤷🏻‍♀️ Ronto roasters. Abc commissary.

MK - my favorite is sleepy hollow. I love both the am/pm waffles. I love Casey's corn dog nuggets and sleezy cheese. It's a corny and overdone favorite and reminds me of being home/Disney. The egg roll cart. Dole whip. I snack a lot there. My family likes cosmic rays but I can have a burger anytime I want to.

I'm going to second the chicken and waffles at Sleepy Hollow. They used to actually be even better but this current iteration is still totally worth it in my opinion. Outside the parks the best is the pulled pork nachos from Capt. Cooks. As for Ronto Roasters their breakfast wrap is totally a hidden gem amongst breakfast foods.

We try to stay away from processed foods as well. We do not eat much fast food, but a challenge to avoid when vacationing. :(

The chicken waffle sandwich at Sleepy Hollow is awesome

We had a stuffed pancake or waffle breakfast sandwich at a counter across from Yak and Yeti on our past trip …. Washed it down with a Safari Amber ….Breakfast of Champions

Ooh that sounds wonderful! Might have to give that a try! Can't go wrong with a stuffed carb for breakfast!

As many have already said, Columbia harbor house, Flametree, Satuli, and most of the Epcot WS QS are good. I was surprised to Cosmic rays in a few peoples list, foods not great but i do love Sonny Eclipse.

Cosmic Rays has good salads, surprisingly.

You will get processed foods at table service as well. Disney is feeding mass amounts of people, they will use what brings them the most profit. That means products with GMOs, anything altered from its original state, etc. Many people do not realize that most of what they eat in a restaurant is still processed. It does not have to be deep fried and served in a bag to be processed. Examples: cheese, most breads, almost any dessert, most porks/lunch meat, anything pulled from a package to add into recipe, canned cream of any kind of soup base, etc.

Of course you can but you get more of it at quick service/ fast food places 🥺😟
Ifyou read a menu properly you can avoid the shortcuts that some restaurants take.

As for the bolded above most of the examples you wrote is in fact overly processed food although I’m confused by your dessert inclusion. I wish you’d include an example so i ‘d understand better🙂

For QS, don't discount ordering from the kids' menus even as an adult. I find the portion sizes for the QS regular entrees to be far too much, so often order a kids meal that also includes a water and side.

At Woody's Lunch Box (HS) recently, I ordered the half turkey sandwich on multi-grain bread with dijon, lettuce and tomatoes. It was actually a good size and very tasty. It came with potato barrels (not so healthy), a cutie mandarin and bottle of water.

At the Connections Eatery in Epcot this week, I had the Grilled Chicken Bao which was grilled chicken breast in a wrap, that came with French fries, a cutie and bottle of water. The wrap wasn't huge but it was a substantial order of fries.

I'm not necessarily trying to be cheap, although you also save money with these meals, but the kids' menu choices actually appeal to me more than the adult choices, and is plenty of food for me.

Magic Kingdom - We don't really have a go-to CS restaurant here anymore. We used to do lunch at BOG when it was QS. And we really liked Columbia Harbor House until they changed their menu a few years ago. Now you really need to like seafood to have any real options there (I'm not a seafood eater but the rest of my family is). So now we usually just head to one of the monorail resorts and eat lunch there.

Epcot -- Regal Eagle and Sunshine Seasons (even thought their menu has been changed and they don't have as many offerings as they used to, we still have things we like to get there).

Hollywood Studios - ABC Commissary

Animal Kingdom - Satuli Canteen and Flame Tree Barbeque
