So, guess what happens to you when your old and play 2 hours of singles tennis in the muggy heat/ humidity of Kentucky? That's right, your hamstrings and calf muscles cramp up. Or, at least mine did. I did all my hydrating before, during, Gatorade, and bananas, yet still hadn't felt pain like that in years. At 2:00 AM, I was sitting on the couch with the heating/ massage pad moving between the four areas. Like any other idiot, I went and played again today. We won the mixed doubles match 6-6, 6-3 against the #2 HS girl and her dad, although he wasn't very good. Then, on 30 minutes rest, lost the doubles match. I didn't play well. Now, I'm home icing my hamstrings, drinking chocolate milk, and will alternate with heating pad. I'll have semi-final and final tomorrow if I'm still alive.

I really haven't been on a bike since I was a teenager. I do agree that riding outside is much more enjoyable than in a gym. Frankly, I never saw the attraction in riding a stationary bike.

Too bad about the loss, but it sounds like a valiant effort. Good luck on your next games.
Congrats to DD. The loss sucks, but the win is great, especially against someone older.
.

Thanks. I usually do about 15 min on the bike to warm up at the gym. The 30 min outdoor was a bit more, but way more fun. Not only was it the challenge of balancing on the bike, but the feel of the wind made it better. The guy I lost to in singles did made it to the finals tomorrow, so at least there is that consolation.

You need some kind of pre-game routine that will scare the crap out of those young whipper-snappers.

Congrats to DD on the nice win.

.

Thanks. I was going for the "feel sorry for the old man" pre-game routine. It didn't work. :lmao:

Holy crap.
I'd be interested to see what you'll post tomorrow.
"Hi, I'm dead. See you all on the other side."

Good job beating the girl. :rotfl2:

Try mustard for the cramps; apparently it is an old home remedy.

hanks, and yes, it's all my fault. I didn't know we had a hall of fame, but it's not a bad idea. If we form a DisDad hall of fame, I nominate the "Hall of Fame" song by the Script to be to official song of the DisDad Hall of fame

If you build it , they will come...

Evening chaps from an overcast London. One case, however, is still enjoying the sun in Orlando. Poxy airlines.

Yes, fresh seafood on vacation is the way to go. Another perk or living near the ocean. Just 10 more years....
Can't see myself living there, but a holiday place is getting more real. DW just challenged me to find her the place.
Good Morning Gents! Last time on a computer until after Labor Day! Headed out to tour some National Park in and around Wyoming. Just taking a pone and a small tablet, not going to be much WiFi or cell service out there, so any changes or request will have to wait 'til I get back. Welcome the new guys for me and I will add them when I get back too.
Aye aye, Cap'n. Enjoy the break.
It's a smallish red button concealed in the shifter knob, but it also only comes in those models fitted with the "Crusader" upgrade package. Check the original bill of sale, if the price tag was somewhere around 738.9 million bucks US, then the button should be there.
Can't you just ask Morgan Freeman to sort it out? That's why Mr Wayne hired him.
So I'm at work. Again.
Oh, well. At least I feel good about helping out a friend.
Well played sir.
If you think its bad after parks / beach should see what a cruise does to ya.
And this is why I stay on dry land.
Just realized it's less than a month before we head down to Da' World for a no young'ens anniversary excursion.
Very nice. Always wanted to do Halloween. Maybe in a couple of years when the littl'uns can get over the jet lag on a week break.

Well, I'm not dead, but sitting in ice bath which is the closest thing to death I can think of.

.

She was #2 HS player. Yeah, still not much to be proud of. :sad2:

If you build it , they will come...

If I win the lotto, then I will build it, and they will......you get it. :lmao:

Hope all had a nice weekend. Got together with some of the soccer parents getting caught up on what's going on with everyone (soccer parents are the group DD played travel club its) and nice that we still get together. Thanks for the comments on upcoming China trip but I do want to remind those that international business travel ain't what many think it is. Downside is travel time as it takes basically 24-26 hours to get to China. The other downside is it is full business related activities all week and the food is terrible. I will be in an industrial area of China so not like I'm gonna stop in at Shanghai Disney. Yes seeing other parts of the world is nice but every international trip just makes me appreciate even more what we have here. Have a good Monday, if there is such a thing.

Just watched MSEP live stream, lots of memories, gonna miss it.

Ahem, so are we saying we want to see Norm in yoga pants?! I thought picturing him in an ice bath was bad enough....

I hear you there. I may have mentioned that I travel overseas for work, on rotation. I spend a month at a time in a small town (pop. 25,000) in Malaysia. It's quite far from anything interesting (usually that's where the oil rigs are in any country), although the food is not too bad here, once I got used to eating rice a lot more. So despite the travel, I don't always get to see much. I've spent 10 years travelling to Asia regularly but I have yet to be able to coordinate a trip to any of the Asian Disney parks.

I'll miss it too. I've got mixed feelings about the switch. I've seen the videos of Paint the Night and it looks impressive. But it certainly doesn't have the nostalgia the MSEP has.

You guys look pretty pleased with yourselves! :)

Ya know, I've never seen it start to finish. Seen it in chunks now and then. When I'm down there next month, it's on my to-do/not to be missed list.

Congrats on the win! Hope you get out of traction in a week or so.

Yoga pants

Sorry, I don't want to see any of you guys in yoga pants.

Sitting in the Toronto Airport waiting for my next flight; good times.

Congrats Norm on the nice tennis win. Hope you made it out of the ice bath.

'Morning all...
Going to see an eye doctor today.
Time to find out just how blind I actually am.
At least it will help break up what otherwise will be a long Monday.

Can't you just ask Morgan Freeman to sort it out? That's why Mr Wayne hired him.
That's the problem...
He works for Mr Wayne; not Norm (and certainly not for me).

Well, I'm not dead,
That's a positive development.

but sitting in ice bath which is the closest thing to death I can think of.
Burrrrrr....

Ahem, so are we saying we want to see Norm in yoga pants?!
"Oh, I hope not..."

Beats being stuck in the Karachi Airport, I suspect.

I heard it was maple syrup...

Yoga pants

To each his own, but I've always found them a bit, uh, shall we say, constricting.

Anyway, happy Monday gents. Last weekend before the three day nightmare that is Labor Day. Was on duty 6:00am until 7:00pm on Saturday. Came back on at 10:30am yesterday, worked until 10:30pm, grabbed some sleep from 11:00pm until 4:00am, and on duty until 6:00pm tomorrow.

7 days 9 hours and 2 minutes until the ceremonial end of the boating season, but who's counting?

Nice work, Norm. Where's the cup?

One man's constriction is another man's presentation.
He works for Mr Wayne; not Norm (and certainly not for me).
Are you not Batman? Well I just lost 5 dollars.
Ahem, so are we saying we want to see Norm in yoga pants?! I thought picturing him in an ice bath was bad enough....
Well, I'm not dead, but sitting in ice bath which is the closest thing to death I can think of.
If it's good enough for Andy Murray......

Afternoon gents. Got the all clear from doc after colonoscopy this morning so that is good. Back to the regular routine tomorrow, have a good one.
Ahem, so are we saying we want to see Norm in yoga pants?! I thought picturing him in an ice bath was bad enough....
Thanks, two mental pictures that took a bit to get out of my head

Safe travels
