Featured ecv providers - instructions?

One thing that concerns me slightly with using a 'featured provider' is the fact that they drop off and collect from Bell Services - with presumably no face to face meeting.

If we have never used an ecv before, it is better to use a non featured provider just to have training on how to use it and particularly how to disassemble for putting in a car?

I'd be interested in hearing the answers to this, but I can tell you that as a first time ECV user, that's exactly why I chose to rent from a non-featured vendor, and have to meet with the delivery person, in case I have questions. I suppose I could read the instruction booklet on-line, most ECV companies have them, but it doesn't beat that face to face contact. Actually, I have rented in the park before, but I'm most concerned with the recharging-getting that exactly right. It's probably so easy, but I'd feel better, like I said, with the face to face contact. After the first time, then I'd consider a featured provider maybe, but not for the first time.

Charging is very easy, super easy. But disassembly and assembly can be the trickiest IMO. If you really want to disassemble it to put it in your vehicle, I would recommend meeting with your rental company. I own one, and it could be confusing trying to figure that out from a manual. It would be much easier to have them show you in person. Then try it yourself a few times.

Most people have local mobility stores in their area. They would be happy to show you how a portable travel scooter works and disassemble it, as well. You could even take a test drive. A popular model to rent is Pride to go scooters and Pride's Victory. Obviously, they are looking for a sale, but even if you don't buy now I don't feel guilty about having them do it in light of possible future sales.

You can also Google different scooter models and there will be videos to show you how they work and break apart.

Finally, although not identical you can try a scooter at a grocery store to see how it feels and get some practice in that way.

Where we live, the closest store is pretty much an hour away. When I went there, they had VERY FEW actual ECVs...two...they had a third because someone's order had arrived and they were waiting to deliver it (but because it was someone's paid for property, others could not test drive it). They did the bulk of their business through catalogs not actual product.
Everyone's situation may vary. But I would call before making the trip to a "showroom" if it were me to find out what they actually physically have on site.

Original poster lives in a bigger city with a population of 1/2 million. I would think there mobility stores would have more scooters available to view and try. I don't disagree that it doesn't hurt to call to make sure.

I really think viewing videos on u-tube should be good enough, here.

I went to a stote outside of Baltimore.
Personally, I would rather have the company show me in person rather than watching a video. But that's me. I guess the OP will need to decide if they feel comfortable enough that a video will suffice. I am more hands on...wanting to see things in person.

I would tell the vendor I need instructions. If they balk at meeting me I would move on to the next one. The preferred vendors pay Disney to be listed as preferred.
