Annual Pass Slider Question?

Why did Disney stop putting the year on the annual pass slider? I really liked having the years on there!

I have the year on my 2015 and 2016 sliders, but I got my 2016 AP at the very beginning of the year.

We just got our sliders and I wondered the same thing. Probably to save money on their part. :(

I got a 14 and 15 when I renewed in late '15 just after the restructure I got the generic non dated orange passholder slider... generic non dated = cost cutting as they don't need to make new molds every year/waste unused pieces

When did they stop? I got my aps for 2016 back in marchish and they had the year. I wonder if it's a temp thing to ensure they don't run out or have too many 2016s when the year ends. I guess the promo for aps is working out well.

Same here. I have the 2014 and 2015 but when we renewed in Feb. of this year we received the generic orange one.

We've been AP'ers for over 10 years and have never received these "sliders". How do you get them? We live in Canada, so that may be the reason? Can I request them at the parks?

I bet it is the reason. They come in the box with Magic Bands. How do you get your AP MB? When you next visit? I think you can ask for the sliders but not sure, since we get ours in the box

We get our MB's when we check in. We have to renew when we get there next time, so I'll ask at GR.

The sliders come with your AP magic bands. Usually in a small plastic bag at the bottom of the box. They used to have the year of the pass, but they changed them to a generic orange slider.

We purchased our AP in November of 2015 so we received the 2015 slider in the bottom of the box. Since most of our AP time was in 2016, I went to guest services last May and requested 2016 sliders - I received the orange ones that do not have a year.

My BIL was in the same situation and when he asked, they verified that he was an annual passholder but then acted like giving him the slider was a big deal and told him that they were noting it in his file that they had given it to him so if he lost it, he would not be able to get another one.

On the other hand, I was handed mine like it wasn't a big deal. In fact, they gave me three - one for myself, one for my daughter (who was with me) and one for my son (who was not with me at the time)

I just looked up sliders on ebay and found that the 2013 is listed for $51 and more current ones seem to be listed anywhere from $7-$20. I guess Disney doesn't want people hoarding them and selling them.
