POFQ vs POP??

I am wondering what everyone thinks? It will be about 600 more to stay at POFQ instead of POP. Two adults and one 15 year old. We will be staying a week. I know the bed is bigger at POFQ and the room has about- 54 more square feet and has a coffee pot.

Can anyone give me any -'s and +'s to these two resorts. I have checked the threads for the hotels here but so many pictures are older so the pictures don't help to much. I am trying to figure out what is best.

If the $600 won't be terribly noticed, go for it. POFQ is our most favorite moderate. The grounds are lovely, the resort is compact, you can take the boat to Disney Springs and to the Riverside, all of that besides the beds and rooms are larger than the value resorts. IF, it really hurts your budget, take the value resort and enjoy your trip, you're in disney, thats all that matters!

I would stay at Pop over POFQ (in fact, I did!) and use the savings for some special meals and shopping. I was quite happy at Pop.

Just back from a stay at POFQ and we loved it. We had a group of 6 adults. IMO Pop is a little more hectic with a ton of younger families, while FQ has a more relaxed vibe. It seemed like a lot of adults and families with older kids when we were there. We also loved the nighttime entertainment at Scat Cats lounge. Transportation was great at FQ, and I don't recall having any major issues at Pop. Pop is great if you will be in the parks the majority of the time (we're staying there for a quick trip in March!), but if you want to hang out at the resort more, go with FQ.

I'd do POFQ in ur situation if cost is okay for ur group. Much more and younger child families at pop. Too much walking within pop unless ur in a preferred room. Very basic motel type.
POFQ is smaller, less little kids overall. Great that there is boat to Disney springs in addition to the bus. Great pool, amenities and you can also use the POR resort pool as well ( simple walkable or by bus). POFQ is a resort we stay at most often. Great moderate resort! I think you will really enjoy it and Every room location s great so no need to do a preferred room.
Enjoy wherever you decide!

Also, if you're using Disney transportation, typically I've found it's a lot less of a wait in the morning and just after closing at the parks to get a bus to/from the resort at POFQ, just because there are usually a lot more people waiting for the Pop bus and it may take several buses to get on unless you're really quick about getting out of the parks.

Last time I went, I stayed at French quarter and my sister and brother-in-law stayed at All Star Music. Most nights we would leave the park together and I would be almost to or back at at my resort before they made it onto their bus.

And I think Pop has even more rooms than the individual All Star resorts.

It's rare that I've ever not made it onto the first POFQ bus that comes along.

Pop is much busier and louder.

anyone have any news on the Pop renovations? wondering if queen beds and coffee pots might be in them?
There are no queen beds or coffee pots at Pop or at any value resort unfortunately.

OP, If it doesnt hurt your budget, go for POFQ. But if you end up at pop, you wont be sorry. I love the vibe at pop. The resort is colorful and fun. I love the lakeview rooms, and the short walk over the bridge to AoA.

POFQ is my favourite moderate and Pop is my favourite value.

I prefer the eating options and buses at Pop and I don't find Pop hectic or loud at all. If you're in a lakeside room, it's actually quite quiet and peaceful. :goodvibes I would be happy to stay at Pop and save the money.

I know both have been rumored, and there was a photo of the proposed remodeled room that appeared to show a coffee pot on the new hutch/cabinet. I just read on the POP FAQ thread here though a post reporting that a source told them the start of the remodel has been pushed back to January, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

After 4 great stays at POFQ, I'm trying POP for the first time next Feb, specifically because of the $500+ savings. As a solo Theme Park Commando non-coffee-drinker, I expect to be fine, but I'm eager to report back afterward.

Only you can answer how important the $600 savings is. Two of our more recent stays have been at these two resorts and we really liked them both. POFQ has such a great size and of course rooms, beds, etc are up a notch over values, plus we did use the boat to Disney Springs it was pleasant but kind of time consuming also stopping at POR which filled it up. Pop is fun, a bit more hectic in the lobby and food court, but we had a lovely lake view room and it was so pretty looking out over that lake in the morning and strolling along the sidewalk surrounding the lake, plus you can walk over to AofA for food court and you can take their bus back and walk back to POp.

For our upcoming February stay we are paying for two rooms as we are taking hubbys adult son, daughter in law and granddaughter so we are staying at Pop, just too much $$ to upgrade to moderate (actually in the range of $600 extra for POFQ just like your differential), plus they won't notice the difference! They are at Disney!

I just started a thread of pro's and con's between POP and CSR. Reading this thread is helping me too!

I have stayed at both. For our trip a few weeks ago, we were scheduled at POFQ and then a discount became available for POP. We happily switched to save almost $700.

We asked for (and got) a room very close to the lobby so the trip for morning coffee was only about 2 minutes long.

My boys don't care that much about a pool slide and Pop does now have towels at the pool.

We also enjoyed walking over the bridge to AoA on our rest day.

My husband and I decided we wanted $600 more than we wanted a moderate resort and downgraded to Pop. It's all about your budget.

If you can do the $600 and it not hurt, I'd go with POFQ. I've stayed at POR and POP and wouldn't stay at POP again no matter what the discount. I felt the rooms reminded me of a motel along the interstate and I'm not talking Hampton Inn, more like Motel 6. The buildings also reminded me of that. Yes, there is in your face theming that is not available in a regular motel but the rooms were just like motel rooms. The food court was loud and busy. At a moderate you are going to have bigger rooms and even though their are still outside hallways they don't seem as low grade to me. I did stop into the food court one morning and didn't find it bad, I didn't use the pool at either resort so can't speak to that. The bus stops in the moderates are covered and they are not in the values, although the values do have the advantage of actually have roped lines and the moderates, as well as the deluxes, can be a bit of a free for all. I didn't think Pop was all that big as others have said, I got up in the morning and walked around the entire resort and over to AoA and actually had to do it twice in order to get a half hour in. I found the level of service pretty equal at both moderates and value.

well we have decided that we are leaning towards pop. we can stay one more night. Have a day off no need early day, wake up later eat a nice meal at a hotel play a round of golf (we get a free round in a choice of things with a package so id chose golf for some new different fun ) and look at Christmas decorations before our party that night. So an extra day at pop, and stills having 500 is still worth it. even if we get an older room they still look nice. we have done 7nights in same type of rooms in the past we think 6inchs or so more of a bed isn't gonna be a huge deal to us we will be fine for the 8 nights. the 500 can be for 2-3 really nice meal'sor some items we want. Thanks
