Fireworks from the fort? Best fort breakfast?

I have seen people mention watching the fireworks from the beach at FW. Which fireworks can be seen and how well? I would love to be able to watch from a quieter place and not have to wait in line for a bus back "home." Next, i may decide not to do any camp cooking. Any extra good breakfast right at the fort? Thanks

The fireworks we've seen from the beach are coming from MK. They pipe in the music as well. We love, love, love the breakffast at Trails End...wonderful...

The breakfast at Trails End is a buffet and is a good value but it's not cheap (about $25). There is a takeout breakfast option from Trails End which is called P&J's Southern Takeout which gives you a cheaper per person price.

The boats from the Fort dock start running at 630am if you want to head to Wilderness Lodge or the Contemporary Resort for cheap Counter Service breakfasts.

The two above summed it up well. The fireworks on the beach is pretty cool, plus you can watch the water pageant as well. There are a few tables and chairs available but we usually bring our camp chairs to sit on.

Thank you all, that sounds great. I like the idea of checking out another resort for breakfast one day. There is a trail for walking to wilderness lodge isnt there? You are very helpful and i appreciate it.

The Trail's End Buffet breakfast is the 'best' and is $17.99 - $19.16 (according to Allears). We never cook at FW, but neither do we always eat a large breakfast. Usually one large meal a day is our max.

As for the fireworks, everyone has there opinions on where to watch. We don't enjoy them at all from the Fort - to many obstructions (especially the lower ones) and too far away.

To add to your question.... how loud are the fireworks when you are at he fort? We have a beagle coming with us and firework noises are NOT his favorite. And to clarify, yes his vet will be giving us meds and a thunder shirt for him just in case. I just want to be prepared all around.

Thanks!!

you can definitely hear the fireworks at the Fort. And from multiple fireworks shows...I could hear the one from the Star Wars show at HS last May as well as those at MK.

We watched the Fireworks at MK for the first time during our last trip to the Fort (Nov/Dec 2016). It was nice. We could see most of it (but not as well on the lower stuff). You do miss "Some" of the show as you cannot see the video projected on the castle which kind of aligns with the fireworks, but it's still kind of nice, especially if you are concerned about not trying to jockey your way out or around the park at that time. I would recommend that you have seen the show at least ONCE at the castle so you get the full effect and then the view from the fort (or other remote locations) has a better meaning/understanding of what's going off and why..

Like NoM, I prefer the show at the castle, but I still don't like the crowding and staging an hour (or more) in advance to get a good location.

Thanks for thr trail map link! Walking to breakfast or home from dinner would be wonderful.

We loved being able to watch the fireworks on the beach! That is the only time we watched them our last trip as I really hate the crowds -easy exit and calm viewing in exchange for not getting the "full" experience I suppose. We enjoyed Trails end for Breakfast as well.

It's not well lit at night. If you're there when it gets dark early, you may reconsider walking home after dinner.

I've seen fireworks in MK numerous times...Main Street, Liberty Square, 4th of July, Christmas, etc. One of my favorite times was our last night at the Fort with my bare feet in the sand and a cold one in my hand. No crowd and kids were running around in the sand playing. Totally different experience. Oh yeah...and we were back to our "hotel room" about 4 minutes after they were over.
