Cabana Bay: Size of Kitchenette Bar in Family Suites

Okay, this is a crazy question but can anyone give me the dimensions of the kitchenette bar in the Family Suites?

I'm planning a trip in May and I'd like to lay out a jigsaw puzzle to work on while I'm there with a friend.

I HAVE stayed there but didn't think to measure the island. I guess I need the measurements for the 'rectangular' part of the island; not where it's rounded off. I know it's not very wide so we'd be looking for a puzzle that is longer than wider.

With the idea that we'd be doing a jigsaw puzzle, can someone get me the measurements of the workable area of the island?

Crazy question, right?

If you don't get an answer here, call the hotel and ask them

Someone at the front desk should be able to find the dimensions for you

Thanks so much macraven. You are such a great, involved Moderator for this part of the site. Very much appreciated.

I had thought of that but since I'm not going until May I thought someone could do some actual measurements.

And I would think someone from the hotel would give me total dimensions; I need dimensions without the rounded part in order to lay out a jigsaw puzzle.

On further thought, who the heck takes a tape measure on vacation (other than me)?!!

Thank you
I try to read each thread on the first two pages of all four forums daily

Some days I do miss but when I see threads with no replies, I try to find answers

Since I have not stayed at Cbay, I have no experience there
And I looked thru the sticky but like you said, no one had their tape measure with them.... Lol

I think I know a few peeps that will be at Cbay next year but don't know if they will be there before you go

I'll contact them and if they go before you, I will ask them to take measurements

If we can't find an answer for you, the hotel should be able to help

It is not that big. I didn't measure it myself, but I am pretty good at eyeballing these types of things. I would not be surprised if it is actually smaller than 36" long by 18" wide. And thanks for a wonderfully original question here on the boards. You won't find this one in the CBBR sticky, for sure.

took me a long time to find this thread.
a person presently at Cbay gave me some info on the size of the counter top.

Sure - my guesstimate - estimate with a piece of 8 1/2" by 11" paper is 28 inches diameter for the round table - could be thirty but not really sure. The dresser seems to be about 6 ft by 2 ft plus there is a tv flat screen and coffee maker - single cup - on the dresser. Hope that helps!

twocat if the estimate is not enough info for you, give me a heads up and i'll send the above homie a pm.

Hi @macraven!

Thanks for posting that but I was looking for the measurements of the kitchenette island. We plan on using the island to lay out a jigsaw puzzle.

I really appreciate your effort in trying to help!

I think the person that gave the estimate is in a standard room because the coffee maker in the Family Suite is in the kitchenette.

ok, i'll try to keep reading on who is at the hotel now on vacation and send them pm's......

i tried the front desk but did not get info about the size.....

i have friends, bluer and
pcstang at the hotels now but don't know if they will have any better luck trying to get the dimensions.
they are not staying a Cbay.

OP here - just bumping this up to see if anyone knows the size of the island in a Cabana Bay Family suite. If anyone is traveling there soon, could you check for me.

If you don't want to drag a tape measure with you and want to help me out, a dollar bill is just about 6 inches long and is a great measuring tape in a pinch!

On the date/rate thread, ourmagic and gsikes are listed to stay at Cbay before your vacation

Send them a pm and ask if they could give you info once they come back

I have been posting on that sticky and keishashadow will take it over later after her vacations are over

Figured since you still need help, that sticky could be a source of help

I have been updating frequently when homies share their trip info

Using this photo ... https://www.oyster.com/orlando/hote...sort/photos/courtyard-family-suite--v9168432/ and the fact that the three outlet plate is about 5 inches wide, looks like the counter is about 20-22 inches wide at its deepest.

Thanks @damo! I think you're probably;y right; it looks to be about 20 inches wide based on the outlet size. Your photo link really helped. Now if I could just get the length of the island before it starts making the rounded end I'd be set! I'm guessing not more than about 20 inches long, too.

Normal countertop depth is about 25 inches. I'm looking at the counter with the sink. The rounded countertop looks to really start getting smaller at the end of that counter. So I would think that the length you are looking for is about 24 inches. Also, if you look at the tray on that sink counter, it is about 12 inches long, so a guess of 24 would be about right.

Thank you SO much, @gsikes. I've gotten really good info from @damo based on looking at photos and extrapolating but actual measurements would be awesome!

We are trying to do a jigsaw puzzle and I need to bring one that will fit on the island.

It will be interesting to see how accurate our extrapolations are!

I'll be there in two weeks! I'll try to remember to measure for you. Oddly enough, I keep a tape measure in the back pack I use as a carry on. :D

So I totally forgot my tape measure, but I did have some vinyl squares with me that were 12x24. It was just over 2' wide at the widest by the wall. It stays at least that wide for apx. 2.5' feet.

Hope that helps!
