My husband and I will be at UO mid May. We booked our trip a few weeks ago, and got a King Suite at RPR because one of our college children can join us. This room only fits 3. We can't add a roll away cot to add a 4th person

Two changes since then.

1. We want to change from 5/17-5/21 to 5/18- 5/21. But, when I called reservations we can't do that. The only room availability they have for those 3 nights is for 2Q. It makes no sense, but they say I booked a 4 day block, and now need a 3 day block, and there is no 3 day block available for a King Suite. Any suggestions? Or is this just how it is?

2. Another college child may be able to join us. But she won't fit in our King Suite. We'll need 2 rooms for the 4 of us, one 2Q won't work. So, I am thinking to just get her a room anywhere, and my husband and I will keep the room at RPR. If I get her a room at CBBR, it's a nice price. But will there be an issue with early entry or express pass? She's really only coming for Harry Potter.

Plmk your thoughts. I'm not that familiar with UO.

Are you keeping the king suite if you get her a room a CB?

She will get early entry but not express. If you move your dates and go with the two queen you can add her to the RPR reservation and get her express. Trust me, we go a lot as a family of five and I've never received a straight answer as to why a king suite only allows 3 but a std 2 queen room allows 5.

You would have to buy express pass for her but still gets Early Entry for HP free.

The only other issue you would have outside of that would be priority seating at table service restaurants. That perk is only for the deluxe hotel guests.

Wouldn't be an issue, you only need to show one room key.

We have had dinner with people who weren't staying at Universal at all........we used our room key for priority seating. Not a problem at all.

Yes. We need 2 separate rooms.

You could add her to the 2q room (so all 4 of you show on that reservation) and then pick up the second room at CB for the 2 kids to actually sleep in. It's a little more expensive because you may for the extra adults but it would be cheaper than buying her an EP. Although 3 of the Harry Potter rides don't take EP I'm sure she'd want to go on a few other rides if you are there that long.

The only explaination I've gotten is that the 3 in a King room is based upon the assumption that the 3rd person is a small child sleeping in the bed with their parents. I'm assuming this is the same logic used for the 5 person, 2Q room.

But there is a pullout sofa...

We chose to do 2 connecting 2Queen rooms at RPR when we took our two college age kids. It was nice with all the space. We had an AP rate so it wasn't so awful. There are no Kings that connect with 2queens...we asked.

Thank you. This is a great idea.
