Disney Gift Card Deals

I loaded some of those offers but haven't used them yet. The terms specifically say not good on gift card purchases. Haven't seen any data points (but haven't looked) to know whether it works on them or not.
I noticed that in the terms. I've looked for data points but haven't seen any

Please folks, if a cashier shuts you down at a store -- do *not* complain to the manager! All this will do is ensure that manager brings this up at his morning meeting so every employee knows. What we're doing is certainly borderline not allowed and talking to managers creates awareness. Yes you shoved this one thru by insisting on the legaleez but if you had not, and had just accepted no from the cashier, all the other cashiers might have still allowed it. You shoot yourself in the foot by pressing your "right" to do this. You ruin it for others too. If someone says no to buying -- accept that politely, go away and come back later or go to a different store. Do not raise awareness by escalating. All GC-GC purchases are not intended use and they slip by only by lax enforcement at this point.

ETA: We should absolutely not be suggesting that people attempt to get GC-GC purchases forced thru by escalating to a manager. That is the worst possible action and shows lack of understanding the 1500 pages that have gone into these methods. This is why we don't make steps for people to follow but instead want folks to read a lot so as to understand the context and what amateur mistakes gets money-making opportunities closed.

The terms of Best Buy gift cards clearly state, "Redeemable in any U.S. or Puerto Rico Best Buy retail location or online at BestBuy.com® where available for merchandise or services, including some Magnolia Home Theater®- and Geek Squad®-related services, excluding prepaid open loop cards and some third-party gift cards." This new language of some third-party gift cards is new language that was recently added to the Best Buy website. However, the gift card itself does not have this language and just says "excluding prepaid open loop cards and items on marketplace."

So the language on the gift card does not exclude buying third party gift cards with a best buy gift card and any manager that says otherwise is in violation of corporate policy. If Best Buy wants to change their terms for future gift cards they can, but they can't change the terms after the fact for gift cards that have already been purchased. (This is very different from when ebay changed their gift card terms, as there was never any specific language saying that ebay allowed buying of gift cards with gift cards, even though they had allowed you to do it.) So yes, if a manager tells you otherwise, show him the language on the back of the gift card or on the paper gift card which very clearly only excludes open loop gift cards. And if he refuses, there is absolutely nothing wrong with complaining to corporate as the policy clearly allows it. A manger can not come along and make up his own rules.

That being said, it is generally not prudent to go in and try to buy large quantities of gift cards with gift cards at one time. It just attracts attention to yourself.

Just found the following on the Best Buy forums in response to a question:
"That said @Tlari is correct that you should have no issue using your gift card in-store to purchase a Disney gift card. However Best Buy gift cards are excluded from being used to purchase open-loop cards (like Visa gift cards) and some third-party cards online. If you have any other gift card questions please see our Gift Cards Page, or post again." This response was from Best buy customer service. So the language referring to excluding some third party gift cards is only online. So again, it is very clearly Best Buy corporate policy to allow gift card to gift card purchase - any manager who tells you otherwise is in violation of corporate policy.

Just to add: In my case, the only reason a manager was called was because the cashier didn't know how to add my BB Award Certificates as form of payment towards the $500 Disney gift card. Once the manager helped the cashier, she told me the remaining amount owed was $450 so that's when I presented the Cashstar BB gift cards and the manager gave me grief about using them.

How does it hurt them? Well if we're doing it because we're making money, then some other players in the game are by default losing money. I wouldn't bother with any of this if it wasn't actually profitable. Not as extreme as the old days, but it's still making money at their expense. It's different if you buy a TV which has some margin. The goal is you buy a TV at 10% and some accessories at 60% markup and it's a valuable sale. But with a gift card they're losing money.

I had someone at a Target that would not honor a Target GC > Disney GC transaction tell me they didn't allow it because it throws up red flags in their system and causes problems for them even though the system allows it. While it does not hurt their bottom line in the traditional sense, it sounds like authorizing these transactions makes someone's day somewhere a little more complicated to get all the beans counted properly, at least for Target.

More of these policies sound like they're trying to combat gift card fraud issues from people using stolen credit cards to buy GC and convert them to other GC than a true problem with the GC>GC purchases themselves. It is obnoxious people who are acting above board are getting caught up in the inconsistent policies individual stores and districts are setting to try and combat the problem.

All of the hush hush stuff made sense back when we were doing wash and repeat churning. Nowadays there is no churning, just taking advantage of published deals. all of today's bargains come with using credit cards or buying gift cards at a deal.

This is the most accurate response to the ongoing discussion here. Although we all miss the days of endlessly 'churning and burning'- whether it is 'whatever' GC to Disney GC's, Vanilla's, Citi CC's, the Paypal 'loopholes', Bluebird- or whatever else (in an endless list)- most of what is available today are limited time promotional deals. The way we generate savings these days isn't through endless loopholes that cost a given 'entity' a boatload of money. GC (and CC) deals come- and they go. Some stores will say yes, and others no. Policies will come- and they will go. The only guarantee in this game is that change will happen, and it usually happens rapidly. We can 'agree to disagree' as to whether or not some random manager has the capability to close down a 'loophole' in a given policy for a given store, but in the big picture it doesn't matter. Policy decisions that affect the ability to use GC-GC are made at the corporate office. For me, when I see a lot more frequent postings on various fan sites or blogs that issues are coming up with redemption at the register- that signals to me that the issue is 'on the radar' and it will be time to move on to something else soon. I am not seeing that here, but rather just some occasional confusion with a given teller at a given store. No single individual asking a manager for clarification at a given store is going to impact the overall game at a chain in any significant way- 'big picture' decisions affecting corporate policy are made at a much higher pay grade than a random store manager. Although I occasionally post in the CC thread and just lurk here- I have been doing this since early in the Obama administration. Thinking that one manager at one store can affect corporate policy across a chain is not, IMHO, an accurate way to look at this. My 2 1/2 cents :P

And just to help out anyone else not familiar, the BB awards certificates are actually coupons, not a form of payment. So hand them to the cashier during the transaction, or even at the beginning, because they become a discount off the purchase price and have to be scanned before it's totaled. I wish they'd just start calling them a coupon rather than a certificate to stop the confusion, that whole situation probably could have been avoided if the cashier saw 'coupon' :)

So the language on the gift card does not exclude buying third party gift cards with a gift card
Right but it does not guarantee it either. It leaves it up to interpretation. Quoting that line to a manager does not ensure you have the right to do this, and any manager who deems it not good business can say no.
any manager that says otherwise is in violation of corporate policy.
Sigh. No, if it said "Gift Cards may be used on 3rd party gift cards" then you could assert that. But it clearly says it's excluded from being applicable on some, and so without a detail of what some means, it's left to the manager who would NOT be in violation of corporate policy to enforce a rule like this however he interprets.

In the cases above where a mgr ended up processing the order, that does not mean you showed him and he now gets it that you're entitled to do this. They gave you the freebie to get you out of their store without a confrontation. That is not quality crafting nor will "confronting a manager with terms and conditions" be a viable way to make lots of money.

Unfortunately everyone's a lawyer on the internet and knows better than people who have been doing this for years. These systems work when you fly under the radar and build an engine that quietly makes money long term, not because you make a stink to a manager who lets you do it to placate you but then shuts it down. :( This thread has taken an unfortunate turn.

For anyone with a Shoprite, buy $100 3rd party gift card get $20 shopping credit: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/shop...et-20-shopping-credit-november-26-december-2/

I'm jealous! ...I think I am anyway, it sounds like a good deal but I don't have a Shoprite so I don't know for sure :)

Just to clarify: ShopRite has a buy $100 in giftcards Nov 24-25 get $20 off a later grocery purchase. And then a buy $100 in giftcards Nov 26-Dec 2 and get $15 off a later grocery purchase. Can someone confirm this.

I just downloaded the coupon. For me it says get a $25 H-E-B GC with the purchase of a $100 Best Buy GC. One per customer exp. 11/28.

The app says once per customer, and it’s been correct in the past. A few years ago, they issued a coupon on Disney gift cards that was unlimited, but pulled it and replaced it with a limit-1 coupon. If you had added the unlimited coupon, you could keep using it, but the limit-1 coupon was, in fact, limited to a single gift card. I suppose you could create multiple accounts and use various payment methods (I don’t know how they track it), but please report back if it works more than once for you. I won’t be able to try until next week.

I mentioned the promotion below in another thread, but want to share it here for those that buy Disney gift cards at Walmart, and those that use Walmart gift cards to buy Disney gift cards at Sam’s Club.

Just saw on slickdeals that Chase Pay is offering 10% back on purchases at Walmart.com up to $325 in purchases. The last time they ran this promotion I was able to use it for gift card purchases. The following cards are eligible:

Chase Freedom (Bonus category must be activated)
Chase Freedom Unlimited
Chase Sapphire
Chase Sapphire Reserve

Was reading many orders being cancelled. Sure enough, mine was as well. Anyone know a way around this?

I can't even get my order to go through. When I attempt to go through Chase Pay, it just won't process.

When I tried to use Chase pay on the Starbucks app recently, my order wouldn't go through either. It was because my business accounts and personal accounts were under the same login. I thought this had been fixed during the last Walmart/Chase Pay promo but I guess not. The Chase rep was able to create an extra login for just my personal accounts. That worked. I haven't tried with this new promotion though.

I also saw where there is a Best Buy Chase promo going on as well - https://dannydealguru.com/2017/11/22/chase-pay-promo-earn-10x-ur-points-on-up-to-400-at-best-buy/
