No direct Virgin Atlantic flights?

We're flying to Orlando on Saturday 15th of September. When I searched for flights before Xmas Virgin had their 2 usual direct flights available, one at 11ish and one at 13.00ish. The flights then suddenly vanished after xmas and the 13.00 one only reappeared when I searched yesterday, only to vanish again today! I've checked on Virgin, delta, Expedia, kayak and Skyscanner and there doesn't seem to be any direct flights to Orlando with va on any Saturday in September!?!! Anyone come across this before? Virgin couldn't give me any answers, they just said things change sometimes :confused3

Have you tried doing it as fly drive on the virgin holidays website? Where are you wanting to fly from? I’m seeing direct flights from Manchester

You’re right though, I presume you were looking at Gatwick, I can’t see any flights either? That’s really odd, I thought September was pretty quiet? Is travelling to Manchester an option? I think I’d rather drive to Manchester than deal with an indirect flight (depending on where you are of corse)

It's bizarre, I've never seen it before! We're right down in Bournemouth so Manchester is a bit of a pain for us and I'd have to drive up after work the night before so an indirect flight almost seems like less of a headache :rotfl2:

Virgin have been doing a lot of refits especially on the 330s - could this be the reason for the lack of flights on those dates? You could always try Thomas Cook or Norwegian. We've flown Thomas Cook in their premium cabin and the price was only slightly more expensive than Virgin's economy.

Norwegian is on the radar at the moment, they're not too bad price wise. I had a look at Thomas Cook premium yesterday and they are unfortunately too expensive at the moment.

I've heard good things about Norwegian so they are definitely worth a look. Aer lingus are a good airline but it would mean a flight to Dublin. The big advantage is that you clear customs here and then you are straight through in Orlando.

Aer lingus is also coming out a bit too much at the moment but clearing immigration in Dublin is a massive bonus so I'll be keeping an eye on them

The 11.45 flight has magically reappeared but with no economy seats available?!? I'd be very surprised if they'd sold out for the time of year we're travelling but you never know...
