All You Need is Love: an offsite, non-Disney PTR (counting down to May 2018)

Well I sure have missed a lot! I thought this thread had been quiet as I hadn't had any notifications for a while and then found out I haven't been getting them at all for some reason.

So sorry your condo has fallen through, what a blow. I truly hope something comes up that blows it away. With all our good wishes for you and Steve surely it will :goodvibes

That has happened to me, too, Mrs Doubtfire! Now that you have commented again, you should probably start getting notification once more

Our days don't overlap at all for May unfortunately. The Wonderland Cookie Co was just off 192, not far at all from Disney.

They are awesome!! (thank you for asking!! :goodvibes) I swear they grow more loveable and snuggable every single day.

I can't remember if I have shared these pics or not, but here's a few more recent ones of them:

Awwww!! So cute! They are so fluffy (I just want to give them a cuddle)

Those pictures always put a smile on my face! I only have Skittles, but I am a crazy cat lady. Girl takes up half my living room and her bed is on the couch because she is too good for the floor!

I'd love to come visit Florida in May. Feel like with my recent depression and anxiety struggles I need to escape and reset the soul. Only thing stopping is hotel accommodations.

Hope you find a new place soon. My friend recently bought and her first place she was sure of went thru. About a month later she found the perfect townhouse. Better location, closer to all of her friends, and more space!

Hey there. Just popping in with an update that makes me sad to post.

It looks like our house deal is headed straight down the drain, as of today. I am beyond gutted, and our real estate agent is beside herself. We had an issue with the appraisal (the report was received late this morning) and the seller has taken a very silly, and deal-killing, stance. Unless he has a change of heart (which we are not expecting) the offer on that adorable little home will dissolve. I cannot even tell you how heartsick I am this afternoon.

So yeah, I'm a sad cat today :sad1:. I'm going to indulge in a pity party and spare you all my sour mood. I'll be back when I'm ready to be chipper again.

May I say that so far 2018 really stinks?

So sorry Gina. I have been reading along. Just not posting. Thinking of you guys. I hate saying it. But what's meant to be will be.

Hi Thanks for all the well wishes for my DD:goodvibes. She is doing a little better still not up to snuff but I had to send her back to school. She got an allergic reaction we think to the antibiotics. This is her second one she is having problems with. It makes me nervous that in an emergency she will have problems if she needs them. Hoping she will have a couple she can take.

DD is a school nut. She has her plans all set and her goal is to be Valedictorian next year. This year she is ranked 5 in her class but she has some tough competition. I told her to do her best and no matter what we are proud of her. Her goal is to get 100 percent academic scholarship to college.

:thanks: for the birthday wishes:)...This was a tough birthday for me. I am trying to be positive and hoping I still feel as good as I do for years to come.

I love your cat memes ... We have rescued on and off cats for the last several years but we have had to stop. We had trouble placing the cats so they are now permanent cat fixtures in the house. I love them all dearly and enjoy them so much. According to your mug I am a crazy cat lady 4 times:eek:...but I wouldn't change a thing.:thumbsup2

Your cats are adorable and look so happy and content. It is such a great feeling to know our fur babies are so happy:grouphug:

The weather got better here and now I hope we are on the road to climbing temperatures permanently. :cool1: Nice walk outside are a must:thumbsup2

It is such a nice feeling to watch the count down to your vacation get lower and lower. It sounds like you guys have a great trip lined up. We are hoping to be leaving in 117 days for our first road trip to Florida as long as no more snow days. :dancer:

We also have a trip in August planned for Cedar Point for 5 days. We love out there for amusement parks. We are thrill seekers and coaster junkies, the bigger and faster the better. The park in itself is very nice and being on Lake Erie is beautiful. It is like being on the ocean with all the white caps. We will hit two of the Cedar Fair parks on our way to Florida. :D

Hope you have a nice weekend and warm enough to get to the zoo:goodvibes

So, I only read these boards when I'm on my computer. Which is next to never these days (having my phone and kindle, why do I even need a computer anymore?!). So, sorry I'm pretty MIA.

But my main comment is....I'm just going to start sending you properties available here in florida.... Tell Steve's job to relocate here. You know you want to.

Hi all, finally popping in for a long-overdue update!! Hopefully you all eventually find your way back over here.....for some reason, I have been moved to the Universal trip report board, even though my upcoming trip has absolutely no Universal components whatsoever . I have requested this thread be moved to a more suitable space, but as you know, that's up to the mods....so be aware that I may (or may not) be in this same location the next time you check in.

First, in countdown news........we're officially in

68 days, to be exact :thumbsup2. From a trip planning perspective, there's been little change to the plans as of late. Car rental rates have been stable and with flights, accommodations, and park tickets all taken care of (and dining planned out, for the most part), we're in a bit of a lull. Once we get under 60 days to departure, I'll start stalking Groupon and Travelzoo a little more regularly to see if I'm inspired to add on a few little extras. I would love to snag a deal on some mini golf, especially.

Time rather feels like its flying these days, but then again, we've had quite a big week. Those of you who are friends of mine on Facebook got the update yesterday, but for the rest of you, I'm happy to share..........

WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!

OMG-Excited-Face-Cat-Funny-Picture.png

And this time, I kept it under wraps until all the potential deal-killing hurdles were all successfully cleared :rolleyes1. Once bitten, twice shy.

My apologies for being a terrible trip reporter over the last two weeks, but we were initially knee deep in house hunting (after our offer on the condo fell through) and then in fulfilling appraisals, inspections, and all the good stuff that came after the negotiations of price. Like all of you so kindly and gently reminded me, sometimes the bad stuff happens for a reason and you were all right on the mark with your advice: the home we found afterward is superior in SO many ways. Not only is it a single family home, but it's fully redone from top to bottom: it features new siding, a new roof, a new furnace, new flooring, a gorgeous new kitchen, new stainless steel appliances, new light fixtures, two stunning new bathrooms (the tile work in the main bathroom is AMAZING!!) and new drywall. It's larger than the condo (2113 square feet versus 1730), has an additional bedroom, has a 2 car garage versus 1, and offers a fabulous family room in the lower level so Steve can finally have his coveted "man cave". It's a shorter commute for Steve, too, and in a quieter neighborhood. It even has a 14 x 13 Florida room on the back which hopefully will have a hot tub within the next year (budget permitting). We are so excited to have found a home that checks SO many boxes (honestly, pretty much all of them!!) on our wish list. Of course now, the pandemonium REALLY begins as we will be packing and moving sometime within the next month. The official moving date is still to be determined, as the sellers are interested in accelerating the closing date (and we are totally agreeable....we can't wait to get settled in) but it will definitely be in March. I am going to have to rely on @dancin Disney style to tell bad puns and share some extra cat memes during that transitional period where I'm MIA here on the boards.

So, I guess I'm extra grateful right now that most of our trip is pretty much all ready to go, so I can focus on getting us as settled in as possible during that 5-week period between the move and our vacation. Other than arranging for a town car to and from the airport (here in MI) that's pretty much my last major to-do. I'm also super glad that we have a fairly low-key week in the plans, so we can rest and recharge after the chaos of this winter and the upcoming early spring. Pretty sure some relaxation will be MUCH needed by then.

I still have all your posts from this week to go back through and respond to, but know I at least read them all daily even though I haven't been replying as regularly as I should :o. I hope to get caught up by tomorrow night!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We actually saw some sunshine in Southeast Michigan today! :sunny: Talk about being good for the soul.

Yea, looking forward to more pictures, especially the tile work. I am a HGTV junkie and love house pictures. I know it will have to be late March or so but I can wait. :) My husband says to me today, lets reno a house. Ah, if only we could that is like my love language, hahaha.

Congratulations on the new house. I had the same thing happen when I went to buy my first place. We had pre-bought a townhouse / casita that was to be built in the new year but when the year was up they decided to change the plan to add a pool so it would be another year of waiting. We bailed on that deal and bought like you a single family home that we quite love. It backs onto a school yard, then a park then another school yard so we only have neighbours on 2 sides and no back neighbours. It was a good deal for us because the townhouse complex was never built so I would had to find another place anyway. See it all works out better in the end.

Don't forget, boxes are for the cats too. LOL

Congratulations! Glad to see you found a house you will enjoy. Plus, with an extra bedroom, visits from DS will be easy. So nice it's close for Steve to commute.

Time is ticking. Busy March for us. Spring soccer, little one goes for driving license, doctor appointments, and making Irish Potatoes (even though we have no Irish in us).
